Hello Magnetic Fox and welcome to the show. This is, sadly, a closed RP for myself and KevinDWolf to show off our characters, expand their back stories, and hopefully showcase some fun things to come. You can consider this a Reach City preview. And while we can't exactly include anyone else in this game, we hope you enjoy watching the adventure unfold. This RP started on the old site as a way of me filling in the blanks in the back story of a character of mine, Emerald, who began as a minor character in the overly popular UWT Role Play and took on a life of her own. My hope is that she will see many more adventures as the RP community on this forum grows. The Players Emerald Brightstar: Once the daughter of a soldier in ancient Persia, she was eventually sold into slavery, before being rescued and adopted by the new King, a half demon hero from another world who befriend the former Prince of Persia. When her father was called to battle, and her world destroyed, Emerald was taken in by a man known as the Doctor. Together with him and an ever changing list of companions, they travel the universe, exploring and keeping it safe. Tundra Wolf: Originally a young rebel born in Mexico City, looking to help bring down the Drug Cartel. She did this for three years, before a mission gone bad ended with her captured and put into a Human Trafficking ring where she was eventually taken by a 'mysterious individual' and put through genetics experiments. What started as an attempt to give Teresa cryokinesis through dangerously experimental means led to her first being spliced with wolf genes to be hardier and able to survive the fusion with the enegries to allow for cryo-process and an adrenaline boost system to survive the splicing with wolf DNA. The experience was excrutiatingly painful, however when she woke up after all was said and done, she found herself in the heart of a GEAR tech lab. She had been saved before the dr. could complete the training with her and use her for his own ends.

First contact, the moment when we as a species discover the truth that we are not alone, is just a dream for many worlds. But in a world bursting at the seams with super powered beings, first contact is little more than a distant memory, one that no one can be sure how or when it happened. And this planet, so rich with alien life, so ripe with incredible power, made for the perfect target. Better still for the alien attackers, this planet saw fit to house most of their super powered inhabitance in one place; a city called Reach.
Just outside the city, in a cave that wasn’t a cave, carved in the side of a mountain that wasn’t a mountain, the invaders were hard at work. Their plan was simple, execution not so much, and their goal was to create a new, stronger, breed of warrior and bring their empire into a new era of domination. And so they began abducting the super powered beings of the planet.
One such victim, a woman named Tundra, woke up to find herself weakened, strapped to a table, with a strange egg-headed little man in blue armor standing above her ready to do… something. Tundra had no way of knowing, but feared the worst.
Luck was on her side when the alarms sounded. The alien left with the ominous words, “The Doctor is in.” Now that she was alone, Tundra could make her escape. She used her power over ice to freeze and break the binds. Now free, Tundra searched the room for answers and found little, save for a curved blade. The door opened, and in ran a young woman in short shorts, barley a tube top, with a long red coat, a sword at her hip, knives at her waist, and a bow in her hand.
Tundra attacked, throwing the make shift weapon. The blade missed the mystery woman and stuck into the wall. As the woman leaned against the door catching her breath, she lectured Tundra, “See? Now you don't have a weapon. So can we skip the fighty part?" and as she spoke, the woman drew her sword.
Tundra kept her distance, and the two exchanged words. Tundra learned a few things, such as what she thought was most promising exit apparently lead to some sort of acid pit.
As a show of good faith, the strange woman slid her sword across the floor to Tundra, all while continuing to lecture her, "I wouldn't need to do that if you didn't throw your only weapon." The woman continued to say, "I don't know how much time we have, I just came in her to find myself a momentary reprieve. But Sontaran soldiers can be on us any second. I don't know what they're planning, or why you're here, but I'm going to find out."
To which Tundra replied, "Sontarans...eggheads, blue armor?" more or less describing the guy who was a few seconds from cutting her up. Now that she thought about it, she probably triggered that first alarm. "Ya overhear them or something? Suppose whoever was watching you got careless." she comments, assuming that Emerald had managed a better escape attempt than Tundra did.
The stranger shook her head, “Oh no, you got it all wrong, I’m not a prisoner, I’m the rescue team,” the woman then paused and added, “Apparently.”

Tundra stops dead in her tracks at the revelation. She quickly inspects the 'rescuer' and isn't particularly impressed, even by the loose standards a super-hero would entail. Tundra couldn't see her being a cop and most of the heroes that'd be officially sent for a rescue mission would...wear more clothes.
"Alright I'll bite" Tundra says, glancing over the scantily-clad warrior. "Why did you have to add apparently to that sentence and who sent you?" she asks. Like it or not the mystery-girl definitely had a better sense of the building's architecture.

Emerald paused for a moment, trying to decide how best to answer. "Well, see now that's where it gets complicated. Let me start from the beginning. Hi, my name is Emerald. Um, no one sent me. I kind of, got into an argument with a friend and stole his ship. Borrowed really, I'll return it when I prove my point. I not actually supposed to be here, not even sure where here is. Earth, correct? Anyway, I'm here by mistake buy now that I am I fully intend to stop this invasion, free all the prisoners, save the Earth, and get back to Disney Planet in time to ride the Hover Coaster."

"Ok, hi Emerald" Tundra grunts, trying to keep up with the motor-mouth of her new ally. She did her best, but she wasn't a big fan of fast-talkers and at this rate she was starting to feel glad that she was the one with the sword. She tuned out the explanation once it started to get really weird and snapped her back to the important part. "Alright, let's stick to how we're going to free everyone. Because as much as I agree that's important we got one sword between us, my powers couldn't cool a Corona bottle at this rate, and uh...you don't look like you've got any secret compartments for weapons in that 'pescado' net you're calling clothes".

"A sword is more than we need," Emerald said, "I've seen a man save the universe with nothing but a screwdriver... Okay, a screwdriver, a banana, and a bossy redhead."
Emerald left her explanation at that, as she hurried about the room, looking for anything that they could use. "Okay, admittedly we don't have those things," She said as started digging through the various medical equipment until she picked up a thin metallic silver wand like object. Turning to Tundra she said, "Oh, but we have this. They left this? You passed this up? Well, anyway, lucky for us. Go us!"

Tundra didn't even bother listening past "a sword is more thsn we need..." becsuse, among other things, her almost being dissected was seriously being downplayed. It wasn't until she was chastized for missing something that she snapped back.
"Ok, if you could sound sane for a minute, what is...'that' and why is it for a good thing, I think starting the escape part of the escape plan isn't a bad idea." she huffs, trying to keep the mysterious girl focused.

When Tundra barked back, Emerald's heart sunk a tad. She'd seen the Doctor swagger in, talk his way in and out, and fix everything with a nice little bow so many times, it just seemed like the thing to do. "Okay, I'm sorry," she said, "Things sometimes get a little wobbly with me... I forget what's common and what's advanced tec sometimes."
Holding up the device she took a breath and said, "This is a... Well, I don't remember what it's called. But it's a Sontaran weapon, capable of firing some pretty nasty blasts. So that means we have 2 weapons now." She said, cheerfully, before mumbling, "still no banana."
She looked around the room, "How about the air vent?" she asked, pointing to the ceiling. There was a rather large vent, which could easily fit either of them. The only problem is it was about 10 feet above them. "Think you can get up there? Or should we try our luck with the front door?"

"Two weapons...alright, that's better than one" Tundra admits. It didn't look like much to her, but she trusted Emerald to know what an alien gun looked like, so she could keep it.
<To think I almost got cut-down by the alien guard so incompetent he left his gun> she mutters, reverting back to Spanish, not that Emerald could tell. On the subject of an escape route she was all for the classic air vent escape but her vertical leap was nowhere near ten feet.
"I'd try anything to avoid the front door" she quickly explains and after some pondering it was her turn to start pacing around the room, anything she could stsnd on was nailed to the floot. She had a plan, but it hinged on being strong enough to pull it off. All without telling Emerald, Tundra stands under the vent and holds out her hand before focusing...though it might look like something else to Emerald.

It clicked for Emerald when she heard the bit about being almost cut down. "Oh, that's right! I'm so think! Sorry. I got so caught up in saving the day, and fighting my was through half a squad of Sontarans, and nearly crashing my police box... and making sure you didn't take my head off, I forgot my manners! I can't believe I've been so rude..."
Emerald finally stopped talking long enough to notice Tundra, "Um, what are you, doing? Oh, you probably need to focus. Sorry, I'll shut up now. But, seriously, what are you doing?"

She was trying to reach a meditative state, keyword trying, her powers usually worked better when she was calm. She let Emerald talk until she got hoarse because Tundra was working on the escape plan. She envisioned a pillar in her head just high enough for them to scale and unlock the grating so they could escape, but given ice wasn't very good climbing material she tried to add in some imperfections something they could get a grip on. She had gotten good at this thing, but the exhaustion was going to make this construct a bit dodgy. as emerald asked what was going on, Tundra decided to show over tell...if it worked anyways.
OOC; alright guys, this part is called- leave it up to the GM. With any luck they will have a method of gauging success or failure!

"...And, you're doing what, exactly?" Emerald repeated. When she got no answer she waited, tapping her foot impatiently, "I'm trying to be helpful here, and not just annoying. You're not giving me many options." again, she paused, trying hard to give Tundra her space, but it wasn't long before she couldn't stay quiet any longer, "You know, team work only works if you work as a team."
Minutes passed, and little changed. Eventually, the air around Tundra began to cool. Soon after a mist formed. Two things became apparent. To Emerald, it was clear what Tundra's plan involved. To Tundra, it was clear her powers wouldn't be enough right now.
OOC: Yes... A good GM would such a method... *whistles nonchalantly*

OOC: and that's an example of things going south...right then.
Tundra did her best to ignore Emerald, but even if she wasn't getting chewed out she could feel exhaustion kick in and her focus waning. Seeing the best she could muster was a misty breeze, worse than her very first attempts to grasp her power, she angrily swats away the cloud.
"Dammit!" she growls through grit fangs. She glances up to the vent, just out of her reach. She takes another few seconds to rack her brain for ways to get up. The moment she realized she wasn't going get an idea that got them both up safely, Tundra stands up in a foul mood. Splitting up sounded like a worse idea than going head-on so she picks up the sword skimmed off Emerald before giving it a few test swings because she might need it. Having wasted enough time, Tundra quickly turns to Emerald and grimly says "What way did you come in? And tell me you know how to use that blaster".

"I've seen them before," Emerald said, "and that way's not the safest, or else I would have suggested it. I had a about half a fleet..." Her words were cut short when the door opened. "Sorry about that," the Sontaran Doctor from earlier said, now accompanied by two more. Each one wearing their blue dome helmet, "There was an..." He paused, as he took an actual look at the room. The two accompanying soldiers aimed their, rather large, guns and the other drew his weapon, which matched the one Emerald picked up, "I am commander Strax, and you two human males shall drop your weapons and surrender yourselves for annalysis for the glory of the Sontoran empire! SONTAR-HA!" Emerald put her hands up, but kept a hold of her weapon for now, "Strax?" she said, seeming bewildered. Addressing Tundra, she said, "Okay Ice Lady, surviving this requires you to trust me completely right now."

Tundra was not a stranger to being held-up and likewise she raised her hands, but kept the sword clenched until told to drop it. She was cursing herself about now, they could have been long gone if she didn't try showing off. Emerald's words echo in Tundra's lupine ears. Her words weren't the last thing she wanted to hear, but it was close. Leaning over, she tried to not look conspicuous as she replied to her ill-clothed ally.
"...well I don't feel like dying today..." she snarks, though she was very much worried about their predicament. "So, what do we do...drop our weapons?" she whispers, hoping for but not expecting a well thought-out answer.
