Emerald nodded in agreement, "Oh of course, I think our game of target practice will go much smoother."
As Emerald went to work on the helmets of the two Sontarans, Strax continued to talk, "You see we have familiarized ourselves with your Earth tactics, and we know that for this Good Constable Bad Constable trick to work, you cannot kill any of us."
"You're right," Emerald admitted, walking toward him and ignoring the helmets, "But you see, there's one difference here," she held her sword to his throat-chin, "The good cop isn't here. Sure you guys found the T.A.R.D.I.S. But he wasn't piloting it. No, the good cop - the man who's burned entire worlds, who's turned the tides of wars with no more than two words, the man who has concurred gods and the devil himself - isn't here. Instead you're in the care of bad cop..." Emerald pointed her sword toward Tundra, "And worse cop." Emerald then spoke a word, "Brisingr"
The blade of her sword sparked and flickered, before a green flame snaked along the length of it, "Now, talk."

Tundra was visiby surprised. Inpressed too, but surprised mainly. Thevmagic fire particularly had her a bit intimidated
"I think she's serious" she comments quikly, taking a seat by the iced Sontarans. "Then again, I just met her, don't take my word for it. Feel free to push your luck those other two cronies aren't talking much. They might talk if you're head goes, just think how quickly that'll happen." She says cooly, trying to goad mr. Strax into talking. "Apparently this isn't the last time you'll see her either...or I can see where knife #3 goes".

Emerald couldn't keep the flame going for long. Her own fear of fire, combined with her fatigue, made it difficult for her to concentrate on keeping the spell going. "You still think we fear death," Strax said, "You humans have no idea what courage is."
"So then tell us," Emerald said, "Tell us and live to die on the battlefield. Or be executed, slaughtered like Earth Cattle."
"Fine," Strax said, rolling his eyes.
"Coward!" yelled one of the Sontaran soldiers.
"You betray the Sontaran empire!" shouted the other.
"Tundra," Emerald said, "Can you deal with them?"

Tundra wastes no time obliging her new partner. She winds up roundhouse kicking one of the helmeted Sontarans to shut him up...though since both neglected to remove their helmets it hurt her a fair bit too. Retracting her leg she hobbles a bit before summoning another ice dagger.
"Don't get smart with me cabrĂ³n" she growls at the untouched Sontaran before threatening to slit his throat if he so much as spoke another word. "So, Strax, where's the food?" she demands again.

At seeing the impressive feat of strength, the two Sontarans ended their protesting. Although, for the one that was kicked the silence was more due the possible concussion he had just received. Strax quickly told them where they needed to go. As Emerald listened, she realized something.
"How exactly can we trust you?"
Strax grew nervous at the question, either because he was lying and Emerald was on to him, or he was being honest and didn't know how to convince her. Emerald saw this and before he could answer said, "As you may have figured out, while my friend has some impressive ice powers she's more a physical threat, while I on the other hand am a powerful witch..."
She paused to let the words sink in, then said, "Fricai onr eka eddyr." Instantly, Strax's posture changed. He became more calm, more relaxed. The change was noticeable, and Emerald would follow up by telling him, "I just cursed you, Strax. You are under my control. You are free to have your own thoughts, but you will not be able to act against me or disobey my orders." This was, of course a bold lie, which is why she had just now only considered it.
And now was the time to test weather or not the bluff worked. "Tundra, please free Strax."

Tundra was still nursing her calf from the hit, but she does crack a grin as Emerald gets the info they need. Sure she could't kill the Strax guy, but having the tough super soldier sweating bullets was a bit fulfilling to her. She crosses her arms once more for punctuation as Emerald brings her up for a threat. Things we're starting to go pretty damn well. Up until she heard the phrase- "Tundra, please free Strax".
"...what?" the wolf girl asks, immediately turning towards her new ally with a confused expression. Playing around was one thing, but she admittedly didn't think Emerald could actually mind-control Strax. As much as this might screw them up, Tundra wasn't on the same page quite yet.

Tundra's hesitance worried Emerald. This plan would only work as long as Strax believed he was under her spell. If Tundra gave him time to think, it would fall apart. Which, Emerald knew, would be fine because she had a back up. But she couldn't explain any of this yet.
Instead she just said, "Free Strax. Don't worry, I have him under control. He won't raise a hand against us. And if you can't see the advantage of having a Sontaran on our side while we walk around a Sontaran battleship then you're blind."
"It's not actually a ship," Strax helpfully pointed out, putting Emerald somewhat at ease, "We have constructed a base here, with intention to occupy this planet until our plan is complete."

Tundra glances over to Strax once he speaks back- the gullible fool fell for it. Smirking, she is pleased before waving a hand around Strax.
"Not a problem witch" she sneers. "Very well, Strax you are free. Don't think much of it." she says theatrically. The ice does indeed start to melt around him, though Tudnra wasn't entirely stupid. That last ice dagger was firmly in her second hand in case things decided to go to hell.

As Strax was melting to freedom, Emerald commanded, "Strax, knock the other two Sontarans out."
As the two warriors voiced their complaints, Strax walked toward them. "I really don't want to..." Strax said, walking up behind his Sontaran brethren and smacking them on the back of the neck. One good shot a piece and they were out.
"That's another thing," Emerald said, turning to Tundra, "I was planning on telling you when we finished here. The Sontarans have one weakness. Strax, go ahead and tell her."
Strax stood at attention, "Our armor is invulnerable to all forms of combat weaponry known to the Sontaran empire. Our only weakness is a small air vet on the back of our neck. We are a proud race, and so long as we are facing our enemies on the battlefield, we are unbeatable."
Emerald smirked at Tundra, as if to say, 'satisfied?' "Now, I think we're all done here, Strax - follow."

Tundra nods, quite satisfied. She starts to head out with Emerald.
"So...how did that work?" she whispers in Emerald's ears. 'You can't actually do that right?" she questions, all the while, keeping the laser stick up.

"I told him the truth," Emerald whispered back. She turned to Strax and said, "Scout ahead, make sure the path is clear. Warn us if there's any danger."
Strax hurried forward, and once Emerald was satisfied that he couldn't possibly hear her, she whispered, "I told him I was his friend, because sometime in his future I will be. He didn't understand the words consciously, but on some level he began to trust me. Since he could feel the change, I figured he'd believe whatever explanation I gave him."

"Oh..." Tundra mumbles. She eventually gives a light shrug in response.
"Cool then.whatever the hell magic junk uou're doing, glad you have it" she mumbles. As they head down the hall, she gets a thought. " Say, you didn't pull anything like that on me did ya? Like if you could..." She questions curiously.

"No," Emerald answered, "This only worked because I've met Strax before... in his future." Emerald didn't bother trying to explain more, time travel was tricky and she didn't want to confuse her with the details. "When we met, he was my ally. And now I'm beginning to see how it all came about."
Before they could continue, Strax came back, "All is clear up ahead. What shall I do next?"
"Stay ahead of us," Emerald said, "Alert us if there's any danger, and try to draw them away."

"Ok...I'll go ahead and pretend I understood that" she comment.s Weird shit happened to Tundra, no doubt, but magic was out of her league. If Emerald could clarify any better, she'd be sure to ask later.Till then she was happy having Strax take point, for a number of reasons.
"Yeah, preferrably, somewhere you can lock em inside or something" she adds, before shrugging. Seemed like a good idea to her at least.

"Do what she said," Emerald added, unsure if Strax would follow Tundra's orders or not.
Strax grumbled, clearly annoyed at being commanded. Emerald hoped it wasn't a sign of disobedience forming. Still, Strax marched ahead as ordered. "And you know," Emerald said once he was out of earshot again, "I don't make it a habit of manipulating people." Her voice was sudden much harsher than previously and her walking pace suddenly quickened.
