"Let's not be sparing with a eight year old for gods sake," Spike said after being quite for the longest time. "Let's not scare them anymore than we already have. On top of that sparing with fire would tend to burn down this house." "So naive when it comes to dealing with kids. I won't be long. Besides, it's what he wants," he commented in his defense. "This boy looks like he fights with honor." "Naive? I know a thing or two about scared children. He's afraid and he wants us to leave he said it himself." Spike commented back, killing and torturing children back in his souless days he knows alot about their fear, he use to prey on it. "Bloody hell I'm the moral compass of this group? We're doomed."

Marvelous crept low as Katrina saved them from a volley. I still have no idea where bird is, he grunted bitterly as he followed the vampire inside the house. He likewise had hoped there weren't any civilians inside the house since he was still figuring things out. of course, there happened to be a whole family, and a rambuncious boy. He hated those, they were way too brave Motioning for the rest of the group to let him handle this. Walking up to the father and son, he crossed his arms, his sidearm and sword clearly showing. "Hmm, you have guts, kid. That'll get you in the right kind of trouble down the road...you shouldn't waste it right now, however. As pirate captain, I decree that we will let you live, but only if you do as I say. We interrupted your dinner it seems. Would be a shame to waste it, I hate wasting things. Take everything except your bread and calmly head to the most fortified part of your house, preferably somewhere underground or in a room without windows. There, you will finish your meal while we do our...pirate things. Yes, that sounds about right. If you don't try any funny business we may consider leaving you safe. Unless we need to do anything else. That sound fair?" The family was obviously desperate, and eager to take any bargain they could if it meant surviving the encounter with their lives. "Thank you," the woman spoke, holding her baby tight. They obviously didn't listen carefully to the intructions, just hearing the part about clearing out of the room. They quickly went to hide; but the boy didn't follow. "No!" he yelled, "Get out of our house!" "Be calm!" the father scolded, grabbing his son and pulling him back. As the boy was being taken away, he punched at the group sending a small flame at Captain Marvelous, who had stepped out in front. The fire would be barely enough to harm even a normal man, but still, the family froze in fear. "Trust me, you'd doing the right thing. My friends and I will handle the princess. Now I really need to go. Question is, am I going to have to go through you guys or not?" They wanted to believe her; and for the most part they did. They knew she and her friends would try. And honestly it didn't matter to them what happened to the fire nation. But, they didn't trust that they could win this fight. "I suppose if we run far and fast enough they can't catch us," the lead Sandbender spoke. He turned, throwing his arm out in an apparent signal for his followers to leave. But, his fear still ruled him. His motion wasn't a signal to his friends, it was a subtle attack. A wave of sand hit Katie from behind, in an attempt to disorient her. Two more sand benders attacked, throwing out their arms as if they were punching. This motion send four balls of super condensed sand at her, if they hit the impact would feel like she was hit by bricks. When the wave of sand hit Katie she knew she had to move and fast. She refelexively burned bendalloy, compressing time in a five foot bubble around her. Inside the bubble time moved eight times faster than on the outside. This gave her tome to recover from the opening attack and dodge the sand balls. She blasted the benders back with a Force and dropped the bendalloy bubble. "You fucking morons! I tried to be nice, but you just had to be stupid!" Katie's eyes had now taken on a typical Sith yellow instead of their typical blue. She grabbed the leader in a telekentic choke and snapped his neck. She flared her zinc as far as it would go, putting the remaining benders in a state of sheer terror. "This is your last chance to get the hell out of my face before I murder you all. Take your friend and bury him. If I find out you did anything after this to cause me or my friends trouble I'll hunt you down and kill you, but I'll kill your families too." That last part was an exaggeration. She wouldn't kill their families, but they didn't need to know that.

Spike commented back, killing and torturing children back in his souless days he knows alot about their fear, he use to prey on it. "Bloody hell I'm the moral compass of this group? We're doomed." While the two argued about weather or not Captain Marvelous should fight the child (OOC: That's a weird sentence to type) the father pulled his son behind him and dropped to his knees, "Please, please spare him! He's just a boy. He doesn't know what he's doing." The son had been passed to his mother at his point, but he fought against his grip, "NO! I'm a firebender! I won't let you jerks hurt my mommy and daddy!" When the wave of sand hit Katie she knew she had to move and fast. She wouldn't kill their families, but they didn't need to know that. OOC: Careful of the called hits. It's fine this time since the sandbenders are little more than fodder, just a heads up. The sandbenders knew they were in trouble. It was a no win situation for them. If this woman made good on her promise, they and their families were dead. If they did nothing, they faced the same fate. The fear and dilemma forced them into inaction. They sat in front of her, frozen with fear.

Katrina took on a pained expression. She watched the exchange between Marvelous and the family. It wasn't the approach she would've taken, but so long as the same result was achieved, it could be overlooked for now. However she had to agree with her fellow vampire in this instance.
"Do you really feel this is the most appropriate time to be challenging children to a brawl? We only just escaped an inferno tempest on an important quest!" Katrina began to wonder if this was an integrity thing. It wasn't that she didn't respect the child, but the bigger picture went beyond such whimsical encounters... didn't it?

OOC: To be fair you pulled a called hit with the sand wave, let's just call it even, k?

"I treat children how they wish to be treated. I won't hurt the boy too much, but he has too much pride to not make noise while we plan. You plan, I will gauge his worthiness."

Katrina glanced at the boy, then at Marvelous, then the boy again before sighing. "Marvelous... These flame throwers are likely looking for us right now. The cloud I put up was only so big, we might only have minutes here, worst case! Do what you must... but do be quick about it."
The vampire walked toward the door and cracked it open a peek. If the coast was clear, she would slip out and jump onto the roof of the house they were occupying. If not, she would stay in the house and examine the threat, if any.

Katie dumped out her coin pouch around her. She Pushed them so they were spread out, then Pulled on them without dropping her Push suspending them in mid air. She then shot them with Sith Lightning creating a chain lightning effect that her mother had invented. She wasn't targeting the Sandbenders, but rather the sand itself. It was simple science, sand plus lightning equaled instant glass. She didn't think these guys could bend glass so that took away their weapon but it also served another purpose.
She knew somethings about the different Bending arts secondhand from what her parents had learned from Aang from what she understood, in this world their was only one person who could possibly do both. "That's right Lightning and Metalbending. I doubt the princess is paying you enough to fight the Avatar." It was a bluff, but hopefully it would prevent more death.

We wont convince them were good guys, so we get pragmatic- that's what pirates do. Now, would you prefer we leave him alone so he can get so brave as to announce our presence to anyone outside who can hear him shouting, or shall we be polite and leave back outside to the armada that's actively looking to kill us? Or you could figure something out away from my face while I just knock the wind out of some loudmouth who designated me as the only thing he'll cause trouble for, all the while his family will take the upmost care of him. You dont look smart, but do I really have to spell it out for you?"

The fire bender's aerial attack took Crocodile by surprise. Luckily, Katrina had blocked the first attack whilst shielding them in mist. Maybe magic was good for something. As soon as the mist hid them, Crocodile dispersed himself among the large area of sand on the ground and in the air, so he could easily avoid the oncoming fire from the benders. Anger still swelled within him from finding the sand from earlier but he became amused after learning it was only from some sand-benders. How arrogant of them to think they could bend his element... Crocodile observed Katie's battle with the benders and assessed her abilities. She was skilled... and could even use lightening. As interested as he was, he thought it best to come out of hiding. "Sparda..." Crocodile spoke quietly as he reformed underneath the benders and attempted to cut the group in half.

You dont look smart, but do I really have to spell it out for you?"The family watched as they debated on the fate of their child. This group was even more sinister than they had been told, if their apparent leader was so flippant about the life of their only son. The father had finally heard enough, "Please, please don't hurt my son. He knows not what he does. He's the only bender in our family, and years of war has hardened his resolve. He only wishes to defend his family. Surely you understand. Spare the boy, and fight me if you must." Katie dumped out her coin pouch around her. She Pushed them so they were spread out, then Pulled on them without dropping her Push suspending them in mid air. She then shot them with Sith Lightning creating a chain lightning effect that her mother had invented. She wasn't targeting the Sandbenders, but rather the sand itself. "That's right Lightning and Metalbending. I doubt the princess is paying you enough to fight the Avatar." It was a bluff, but hopefully it would prevent more death. What little knowledge Katie had at her disposal had worked against her. In this era of this world metal bending was largely unheard of, and only the greatest of fire benders could use lightning. More over, much like how allomancy is an all or one art form, there were no duel benders outside from the Avatar himself. These fats were echoed in the reactions of the sandbenders. "Metal bending?" one of them asked, "I never heard of that." "She can't be a fire bender and some sort of earth bender..." Her display backfired; as far as the sandbenders were concerned it was all a trick. However, before they could take their conclusion any further... In one single move the sandbenders were all killed by their own element.

"I could've handled it you know." Katie said, slightly annoyed as she saw Crocodile appear. "I was trying to lessen the body count. Killing the rank and file troops doesn't solve much of anything. I grew up in a war, so I learned that the hard way. It appears my diplomacy needs some work, my mother can talk a Predator out of killing her but I can't handle talking down a few Sandbenders, maybe I take more after my father than I thought..." She mused.
Katie shook her head to clear her thoughts, much more important things were at stake here than her diplomatic reputation and which parent she took more after. "You can turn into and control sand, that's an interesting power set Crocodile. At any rate we should join up with the others, keeping the group split is just asking for trouble." With that said Katie took off in the direction she felt Katrina's mental signature in, but not before retrieving her scattered coins, there was no sense in leaving perfectly good weapons behind. Her sister was the easiest to find as she also had telepathic abilities, and the blood relation likely helped too.

Her sister was the easiest to find as she also had telepathic abilities, and the blood relation likely helped too. Sir Crocodile quickly reformed himself standing nonchalantly among the Sandbenders he had just killed. With even looking over at Katie, he quietly lit up his cigar and turned his head towards the airships above them. Only then did he respond. "You talk too much...," Crocodile gave a short pause to puff his smoke before giving her his full attention, "You are well aware of my powers now so you know the danger I face against these Firebenders. They will give me too much trouble if I go alone so I must ask you to accompany me in commandeering that airship. We can get a nice view of the land and will make an excellent base for the time being. But we need to reach them before the fog dissipates, so we go now." While waiting for Katie's response, Crocodile would open his palm and pull in all the sand surrounding him and in close proximity of him, letting the sand form a small tornado in his hand.
