Katie was behind the group? Katrina opened her mind and connected with her sister just enough to communicate. She was careful and skilled with her mind, enough to respect the invisible boundaries of where a person's feelings and memories lie, despite an inability to feel out the stalkers.
'Aye. Meet us halfway.' "Let us regroup, lest we become separated," Katrina said to the group. "Katie is not far."
As she noticed the sand scattered about the floor, Katrina took note of Sir Crocodile's response to it. It seemed there was something he knew about it, as he took it as a personal insult of some kind--likely by the elemental. Perhaps this elemental was playing a game of it? Regardless, Katrina didn't like mind games.
After being unable to sense the watchers, she formed a quick spell in her mind and uttered it under her breath.
"Gánga datia; thverr un finna thorna iknol varda nosu. Malthinae eom du fricai abr du Cult."
The vampire would summon a blanket of mist to condense from the air for dozens of yards around her. The mist would only rise to about thigh level, and would bind to the bodies of anyone that might be an ally to the Cult and watching them.

Katie did indeed move meet the group halfway. Still keeping an eye out for any stalker. If she found whoever it was she would signal Katrina and the others to come to her. That said she really had to hand into her sister, the mist certainly made her feel more at home.

Tin flared to life in Katie's chest, she burned it with as much power as she could, flipping her sunglasses down on to her face to help with the harsh sunlight. She was hoping to use her advanced senses to catch whatever it was that was following them. She also burned steel in case this thing had any metal on it, and doubled down her efforts on her Force sense trying to get more clarity. In short she was doing everything she could to get a glimpse of this thing. Whoever was after them as a master of stealth, and likely knowledgeable in abilities this group had. Well, maybe not this group specific, but Katie had powers the Cult had dealt with before - both in their enemies and their allies - and so who or whatever was stalking this group carried no metal. Croc suddenly lost focus as the wave of nerves hit him. He could tell they had been spotted. What other reason would a man his size have this sort of chill? Whatever was going on, it didn't feel right. Apparently the Marek girls figured that out as well. "Maybe they aren't incompetent after all,"
"Someone knows we're here," Croc replied to Katie and the others. "We should-" Crocodile paused as he found the sand scattered around their path. He immediately knelt down and cupped the sand in his hand, biting down on his cigar in frustration. "Calling me out, ah girl? You think your clever. I'll show you clever. Nobody taunts me!"
The sand was a bigger clue than Crocodile realized. Perhaps it was his arrogance that kept him from looking further into what the sand could mean, or it was simply ignorance of this world.
The mist didn't reveal anyone, but did uncover something of interest. Only one with the perception of a vampire would see it, but in certain areas the mist seemed to move downward, finding cracks in the ground that were too narrow to see but unnaturally deep... Their attack came from the sky, as their airships descended from the clouds, launching waves of fire at the main group. Katie, alone as she was, could see the attack but wasn't targeted herself. That didn't mean she was safe, however, as she fell victim to another attack. The ground seemed to open around her, as walls of sand shot up before collapsing around her in an attempt to bury her alive. If she managed to escape the initial attack, she'd see her stalkers

Katrina had next to no time to contemplate the cracks in the ground where the mist rolled inward. Before she knew it, airships seemed to appear and launch their fiery assault against Katrina and her team, with Katie still separated from them--just as she was hoping they could regroup. Katrina peered upward and took the moment to take count of how many airships there were. One was more than enough, as massive as they were, and being so high up didn't make things any easier for her. However, at least being that far away gave the vampire the time she needed, even if only seconds, to implement a quick plan to help save Spike, Edward, Marvelous and Crocodile.
"Thrysta rakr."
All of the mist Katrina had summoned would not go to waste. The thick fog condensed in an instant to a disc of space directly over the heads of Katrina and her team, and would literally explode as the first flaming attack collided with it. It was only enough mist to stop a single attack, but the goal was not a permanent defense. That would become costly, energetically. As soon as the misty shield met the flames, a steamy, hissing veil would sheet the area, effectively hiding the group and buying them time.
"Away!" Katrina exclaimed to her team, ushering them toward a building. Not the nearest building to them, but rather, one that was at the edge of the steam cloud. Whether or not the door to such a building would be open, Katrina would force her way into a building by force if she had to. Hopefully, nobody would be home... The airships wouldn't burn their own city, would they? Katrina wasn't sure, but she didn't put it past the cult. In the shelter of this new dwelling, at least the flame throwers wouldn't know where they were.

With her Force Sense being sluggish as it were Katie was caught in the attack. However while her sixth sense wasn't working as normal, her other powers were. Gathering up the Force within herself she let out a massive Force Repulse, one of her father's favorite techniques, an affinity she shared, and blasted apart her would be tomb.
Katie turned toward her assailants as soon as she was free. "Looks like I've found the cult. Some sort of geomancers right, no wrong them ah, Earthbenders, sand is your specialty yes?" Even as she was talking her guard was up, they wouldn't be getting her with a sneak attack again. That said, she didn't move to attack them at first she had a more tame plan.
She burned brass Soothing the Sandbenders, making them more trusting and willing to listen to her, as always it was subtle, subtle worked better, so they didn't detect the manipulation of their emotions. "Look, I don't know what your bosses in the cult promised you, but I can tell you now you're not going to get it. I know all about Cthulhu, you know the thing they're trying to revive, here's the big secret he doesn't care about humans. He's not going to be grateful that you helped bring him back."
"To Cthulhu, at best you're food. At worst you're of no more value you to him than a single grain of rice is to you. Barely worth noticing. You're being manipulated by the cult, as easily as you manipulate those sands. There's no big reward for you at the end of this road. If you continue down this path we'll have to fight and I'll kill you. I don't want to have to do that."
Now she added a little zinc, Rioting their fear a bit so they would feel afraid of her. "Look, my friends are in trouble, I will help them. If I have to go through you to do so I will. I won't lose any sleep over it. It's times like this you've got to ask yourselves: 'Do I feel lucky?' well, do you, do you, punks? Really it's better for all involved if you just clear out of here and never bother us again. Trust me, old squidface isn't worth it."

In the shelter of this new dwelling, at least the flame throwers wouldn't know where they were. The first wave of fire hit the disk with explosive force, just as predicted. This did allow Katrina to hide her group, but the steam was hot enough to cause sever burns if she didn't actively direct it away far enough. The firebenders aboard the ship lost track of them, and Katie's assumption was correct; they wouldn't burn the city down without a direct order. Still, this didn't mean the soldiers wouldn't send another wave of attack. They blasted the area the group had been standing, keeping a sustained flame until enough twigs, debris, and other flammables ignited to create a wall of fire, the hope was to drive the group out or further into the city. This also served to effectively cut Katie off from the others. With her Force Sense being sluggish as it were Katie was caught in the attack. Trust me, old squidface isn't worth it." The emotional allomancy worked, but all the soothing and trust in the world wouldn't make up for the apparent gibberish she was speaking. The simple desert dwelling sand benders knew nothing of a 'Cult'. And to them, squidface was probably some slur against waterbenders - which was confusing sine they were clearly earthbenders working for the fire nation. One of the sanbenders came to a different conclusion, and spoke up, "You shouldn't make fun of people with Pentapox, my cousin died from those." Her fear manipulation was also effective, but they also feared the princess of the fire nation - perhaps much more. They knew what she could do. This new woman was intimidating, but they had no idea what she could actually do. Failure here meant facing the fire princess; and that wasn't an option. Still, that didn't mean they had to engage right away. "We don't know who or what you're talking about," their leader spoke, "But the Fire Nation has enlisted our services in protecting their boarders. A job we don't plan on failing."

"Oh God, you really don't know do you? That's just my luck. This is going to sound absolutely crazy, but the princess wants to revive an evil spirit called Cthulhu for power; that's what I called sqidface. It's a really bad idea, it's going to make everyone's lives really bad. I understand you're just doing your jobs, but my friends and I are trying to help this world. Please, just pretend you never saw me and no one has to get hurt okay?"

OOC: Forgot to include part of the post Katrina had next to no time to contemplate the cracks in the ground where the mist rolled inward. This also served to effectively cut Katie off from the others. The building was small, just three rooms; two bedrooms and a main room that served as the kitchen and living room. At the table, the group would see a family of 4; a mother, father, young boy, and a baby sister. The family stared at the intruders; these were the invaders that they were warned about. "Please, don't hurt us," the woman begged, holding her baby to her chest. The boy, no older than 5, jumped up, throwing his arms out as far as they could go to protect his family, "Leave us alone!" he yelled, "I'll... I'll burn!" The father grabbed the boy's arm and pulled him back, "No Takumi! We don't want to anger them." he turned to the intruders and said, "Please, take whatever you need. Just spare our family."

And even the nonbelievers among them couldn't explain away the night the moon turned red as anything other than what the story had claimed. Regardless of the truth of her story, they still had to answer to the princess. "She'll kill us if you get through," the leader said, "It doesn't matter if you slipped passed out watch or defeated us. Our only option would be to run and hope she doesn't find us."

Marvelous crept low as Katrina saved them from a volley.
I still have no idea where bird is, he grunted bitterly as he followed the vampire inside the house. He likewise had hoped there weren't any civilians inside the house since he was still figuring things out. of course, there happened to be a whole family, and a rambuncious boy. He hated those, they were way too brave Motioning for the rest of the group to let him handle this. Walking up to the father and son, he crossed his arms, his sidearm and sword clearly showing.
"Hmm, you have guts, kid. That'll get you in the right kind of trouble down the road...you shouldn't waste it right now, however. As pirate captain, I decree that we will let you live, but only if you do as I say. We interrupted your dinner it seems. Would be a shame to waste it, I hate wasting things. Take everything except your bread and calmly head to the most fortified part of your house, preferably somewhere underground or in a room without windows. There, you will finish your meal while we do our...pirate things. Yes, that sounds about right. If you don't try any funny business we may consider leaving you safe. Unless we need to do anything else. That sound fair?"

Unless we need to do anything else. That sound fair?" The family was obviously desperate, and eager to take any bargain they could if it meant surviving the encounter with their lives. "Thank you," the woman spoke, holding her baby tight. They obviously didn't listen carefully to the intructions, just hearing the part about clearing out of the room. They quickly went to hide; but the boy didn't follow. "No!" he yelled, "Get out of our house!" "Be calm!" the father scolded, grabbing his son and pulling him back. As the boy was being taken away, he punched at the group sending a small flame at Captain Marvelous, who had stepped out in front. The fire would be barely enough to harm even a normal man, but still, the family froze in fear. "Trust me, you'd doing the right thing. My friends and I will handle the princess. Now I really need to go. Question is, am I going to have to go through you guys or not?" They wanted to believe her; and for the most part they did. They knew she and her friends would try. And honestly it didn't matter to them what happened to the fire nation. But, they didn't trust that they could win this fight. "I suppose if we run far and fast enough they can't catch us," the lead Sandbender spoke. He turned, throwing his arm out in an apparent signal for his followers to leave. But, his fear still ruled him. His motion wasn't a signal to his friends, it was a subtle attack. A wave of sand hit Katie from behind, in an attempt to disorient her. Two more sand benders attacked, throwing out their arms as if they were punching. This motion send four balls of super condensed sand at her, if they hit the impact would feel like she was hit by bricks.

The pirate captain quickly raised his hand, burning thr cuff of his jacket. He chuckled softly, not wanting to raise any more alarms.
"You raised a real brat. Alright, you guys figure out a plan. Ill make sure these people stay...secure," he commented before pointing to the boy. "To the safest part of your house. We're going to spar."
