Bridge: "Jesus hell, that can't be good. Can we flag anyone else in the area? I'd settle for yelling at the getaway ship," Alice ordered around, trying to see what other specs they could get off the ship. She trusted the Starfire to handle things, but she didn't wanna let anyone go. She'd check on the ground team later, seeing they landed safetly. Landing Party: Larkin was silent, he never did get an apology approved by Satheera, so he mostly kept his mouth shut, a serious look on his face as he hefted the jungle-tested model autocannon in his arms. He'd done plenty of practice with the thing, but it was not a pinpoint weapon as far as jungle combat went and he worried his head wasn't in the game which made it feel heavier. That or it was because he'd just finished some deadlifts an hour before the movie and was wishing he had a lighter shotgun instead. Regardless he waited for the order, hefting his gun into place and ready to rain rapidfire on anyone unlucky enough to get in his sights. Destiny followed in near a security group behind the marines, covered by head to toe medium grade body armor and a sturdy helm. She wasn't the strongest girl there, but she had enough combat experience to not be out of place on the field. She gripped her Officer's heavy pistol tight as she stayed behind some rather rough looking Daedalian guards. She might've hit on one or two, but that didn't matter as she hated Rose Merchants more than she could ever enjoy flirting up strangers.

Dogar's almond eyes were alert, constantly glancing from side to side. He was poised, ready to duck behind cover whenever he needed to. He carried the slugthrower easily, and his footfalls were light. Dressed to kill in body armor, with his favored weapons at his hips, he was prepared for just about anything. He was well-trained and his instincts were honed... but the best laid plans, and all that.

Maharil exited the shuttle last with the ship security. If her request for a semi-auto rifle was cleared then she'd be clutching it close since it looked like she was the only Engineer in the group as she followed behind Stacy since she was the big boss. Her ear's twitched for any source of movement, her eyes sure to follow since her eyes tracked movement better than most of her allies. She also had her trusty long wrench on her for defense or if anything needed a little wrenching. She noticed Larkin hold a big gun up ahead and mused on their last adventure in a jungle.

Landing party: Solus agreed (grudgingly) after speaking to a certain pink temptress to lead the landing party. Taking point with (edit) and his own oversized slug thrower in his hand he took a moment between moments to feel the air. A military mission again. Part of him loved it. Flashes of his past made him fear it. Then they were off through the brush . Careful and quiet. They were well trained. If they hand a good hand in this world maybe they'd all get out alive. Gunshots. He raised his fist for everyone to halt. Ears up. He motioned to one of the footman with a scope (npc) to move forward to check out the scene. "Don't fire. We need the drop on them." And with that he let him go find a vantage point. He signed for ears up. With the cast of characters here the last thing acceptable would be getting ambushed.

Mess Hall: "Destiny, good to see new faces. Always nice to see new faces," she smiled wide, her grin looking quite huge this up close. "So, why haven't I seen more of your pretty face?" she chuckled. In her head she hoped that didn't kill the conversation dead. Like usual. Stacy gave an awkward smile to Destiny. She wasn't sure how to respond, thankfully she didn't need to because... Landing party: While the ship and fighters dealt with the ship, a small contingent of marines and crewmen had landed just outside one of the villages on the colony. The planet itself was unremarkable mostly plains of blue grass. Larkin, Satheera and Dogar were on point with the rest of the marines. Satheera had her blaster carbine at the ready, Larkin had a squad support weapon. Dogar had a slugthrowing assault rifle. The rest of the marines had a combination of blaster rifles and slugthrowers.
In addition to the marines was tactician Felicity, engineer Maharil and Security officer Stacy who had brought along a squad of security crewmen to bolster the marines. Last but not least was Destiny who insisted on being present, slavers were a sore spot with her.
Stacy held the highest rank therefore she was in overall command. Gunshots were echoing ahead of them. Apparently there were slavers on the planet still and they were having a shootout with the locals. Stacy rose to the challenge of leading the Landing Party. She used the time in-between transitioning from the Starfire to the colony to get her 'Focus On'. Her mind fixated on her sense of protecting others, that same sense that made her join the academy and do something with her life. Stacy led the group toward the sounds of gunshots. With the colony in sight, Stacy took a quick look at the men she was leading. She chose not to think that she was leading them into battle, or to their deaths. Instead, Stacy reminded herself that all these Marines and Officers and guns were here specifically for helping purposes. Like volunteers at a blood-drive or charity event. Only difference now is that there is danger. And Stacy knew that all too well. Stacy nodded to the Marines, signaling them to take point and make a formation. She needed the Marines to cut into the colony first so that the less experienced officers could shadow and sweep behind them. And if possible, secure civilian safety. Stacy kept her gun low, muttered the words "Focus On," and gave the order to go in. Book would hear the annoying beeping of a missile lock warning went off. Two older fighter/bombers were flying escort for the slaver ship and they wanted to dogfight it seemed. Book quickly spotted the missile lock message and flipped the switch to stop the beep. He could tell the escort ships were taking formation now and were going to use the missiles to break up his team's formation. Luckily for him, and unfortunate for the enemies, Book was a Xyl. And Xyl were damn good pilots. "Got two bogies closing in. We probably should move," Book said causally over his comm.

Bridge: One of the tactical officers responded to Alice. "We're the only ship close enough ma'am. Respectfully, that ship might be more heavily armed than a regulation freighter but t is still just a freighter, it's not a warship. We're a warship. We have the advantage."
Between their weapons and the fighters already attacking they stood a good chance f stopping the slavers from escaping.
Fighter pilots: "Acknowledged. Book, Lynx. Engage those escorts, the rest of us are going to hit that ship, weapon emplacements and engines are our primary targets." Excalibur called over the comms.
Lynx engaged his countermeasures, throwing off any missile locks before attempting to get a lock on one of the enemies. No good. They were releasing countermeasures too. The two enemy ships parted and broke off as if they were attempting to try and pinscher in the two Alliance pilots.
"Break right, hi and low." Lynx said, the maneuver meant they would move to engage one of the fighters simultaneously, one would go high the other low. With any luck the two's combined firepower would take one fighter out.
Landing Party: The marine scout (human female) set out ahead of the main group, it didn't take long for her to report back to the rest of the group. "I'm in position, we've got some professional mercenary types attacking. The colonists are holed up in a few sturdy buildings and fighting back, but they're outmatched. I'll hold position until you get here... please hurry."
The marines advanced first with Sollus acting as squad leader, the naval crewmen followed behind at a short distance. Suddenly the thicket ahead of the squad erupted with salvos of blaster fire. A marine went down, his armor took the brunt of the attack but he was undoubtedly wounded.
Satheera sighted down her carbines scope and picked out a silhouette, she fired scoring a headshot before she shouted: "Cover me!" The Selurian sprinted for the downed marine, and began to attempt to drag him to safety. Shots were whizzing past her dangerously close. The naval personnel were far enough to be relatively safe but close enough to tell what was going on they had a few options, move in to reinforce the marines, stay put or attempt to flank around the slavers.

Dogar ducked behind cover, then peeked ahead while laying down suppressing fire, trying to find a way around the slavers to flank them and gut them quietly. Provided he did, he'd be on the move presently, his lithe form low to the ground so as to present a smaller and less obvious target to the slavers who'd discovered them. He'd pick his way through the thickets around to the side of the slavers, hoping some equally or at least competently stealthy marines or navymen could follow him through. His mixed heritage of pantheurian and selurian made traversing the tall grasses low to the ground almost second nature, like a lion stalking its prey. His sense of direction was adequate enough for him to keep track of the enemy squad and, when in position, begin to advance with stealth in mind. Once he got close enough, he'd open up fire with his slugthrower and duck quickly back into the grasses when the fire was returned.
As for the injured marine, Dogar figured him to be most likely largely fine but almost definitely on his ass for the time being; that is, for the rest of this firefight.

Book would fire as soon Lynx was in position. Landing Party: The gun fire had started before Stacy was even ready. The marines rushed to flank the slavers and cover their teammates. Stacy would follow suit and find cover. She wouldn't be able to do much at this distance but she could help give the marines cover so they could thin the herd. Stacy would peer out from her cover with just enough space to fire at the slavers. She'd aim for the head if she thought she could get it. If not, well, the chest was usually a pretty big target.

*Alice: The Commander didn't need to be told they had better equipment, that went without saying. She didn't want overconfidence to be their downfall.
"Alright, give them a final warning. We have to board that ship, and I want focus on those engines," she said abruptly, though her face said she was still in thought how to handle everything else.
*Landing Party: "Covering!" Larkin shouted as he moved past Satheera, wishing her safety, taking as much attention as he could as he lumbered to a thick tree that would hide his silhouette. He did see Doggar run off and hoped to buy him some time as his gun came to life with an energetic whirr. A second later he raised his weapon and layed down a large flurry of blastsat the group of gunfire that seemedmost accurate, the gun raging on as he sprayed down the area.
"Jesus hell, we gotta do something," Destiny immediately responded, drawing her pistol offensively. She might not have been the biggest person in charge, but she had no intention of sitting out a fight with slavers if she had any say at all. "Our boys need backup!"

Bridge: "Aye, ma'am!" With that the ship went for an intercept course. "This is the Starfire, surrender your vessel and prepare to be boarded." This was answered by a fusillade of fire from the slaver ship.
"Looks like they want to do this he hard way captain. Returning fire."
Pilots: "Copy that," Lynx responded as he and Book boxed the fighter in. Lynx would open up as would book the combined fire took down the fighters shields, and shortly afterward the craft exploded.
Lynx cheered but soon was banking aay as the other remaining fighter got behind him. H maneuveredaway expertly but the fighter was still on him. "I can't shake this guy. Little help?"
As this was going on the two capital ships began to exchange fire.
Landing Party: Larkins fire definitely cut down on the amount of fire coming at Satheera, unfortunately they were all aiming for him now. Satheera looked on helplessly as she got the wounded marine to where Destiny and Stacy were.
The two women couldn't tell how effective they were from their position but shooting back sure made them feel better. However a break was coming for them and it came in the form of Dogar
Two other marines had followed the hybrid, and they had a clear view of the merc squad. One marine handed Dogar a frag grenade. Allowing him the honor.

Solus dragged the wounded soldier with him into the thicket. It wasn't gonna feel nice but it was necessary. He saw Dogar go in the other side of the thicket and based on what he knew hoped he was right. He laid down the soldier and got on all fours. Barreling through the thicket making a wide zig-zaging arc towards the enemy soldiers. In the thicket he was hidden but his loud thumping movements and quick pace would hopefully allow Dogar to close in unnoticed. He was going to fast to stop so once he was there he would quickly try to maul whoever he charged into and pull out his slugthrower to cap anyone else trying to take advantage.

Alice: "They usually do. Alright, cut off that thing's chances of escaping. How damaging are those blasters to our defenses?" the Commander asked,, not wanting to risk the Starfire on a Hunch.
Larkin: Larkin grunted in discomfort as the opening fire coming his way. Grabbing the gun by its bracers, he rolled over to the closest thing to waist high cover he could. He could try some suppresive fire from a prone position, but not getting killed ewas priority 1. Not getting his allies killed was a very close second though as he went forward with putting the gun in his cover if he could.
Destiny: Seeing the grenade get handed over, the Rhyshellen's eyes widened as she saw heavy weaponry come into play. "Fire in the hole," she growled enough for those next to her could see before dropping behind some nearby cover.

And now Book need to assist Lynx. "I see him on your tail. I'm getting into position, Lynx." Book pushed his craft into an upward maneuver then changed course down until he was level with the enemy craft chasing Lynx. "Got the fox boxed and rattle hot so what you say we give it a shot?" Book said a familiar quote to himself as he fired his gun at the enemy target. Larkin grunted in discomfort as the opening fire coming his way. Grabbing the gun by its bracers, he rolled over to the closest thing to waist high cover he could. He could try some supressive fire from a prone position, but not getting killed ewas priority 1. Stacy would see the carnage unfold before her, but instead of folding she remembered her training. She was prepared for this. Besides, she was just giving the Marines back-up. How bad could that really be? Stacy saw Larkin trying to fire from his cover and decided to give him whatever support she could. She ran in his direction while doing her best to avoid enemy fire, jumping into nearby cover and shooting at an oncoming slaver. "Need some help?" Stacy asked Larkin.

Dogar's lithe form darted between the grasses for a few moments before he was handed the frag. He glanced down at it, still crouched low to the ground, then chucked it in a sailing arc at the slavers he'd been flanking. After it exploded, he'd continue to fire with precision and vitriol.

Felicity: Oh shit! Oh shit! Okay.... you trained for this... She'd been panicking since landing down with the rest of the party. The time for panicking was long since gone though, and she began to explore her terrain. Many forgot to take this into account in a gunfight, but the statistics showed, better terrain meant better chances of hitting the targets than they have of hitting you and that meant she could get back to sitting behind a desk. After a quick glance around, she would begin trying to cover the enemy shooters, trying to time her shots to not waste ammo and suppress enemies as she analyzed the surroundings and came up with a plan.
