Then came Crocodile's 'answers'. She rolled her eyes at his apparent lack of understanding a rhetorical question. But she decided addressing his statements was only fair. "For one, I promised you a wish on the condition that you wouldn't use it to hurt anyone. You want money, whatever, I don't care. But you have yet to prove that you've earned it. As for your plan, while sound reasoning, I can't track the specific generals. I can track the dragon balls, and I've located two. They're in separate worlds, and so that's where we're starting. Other than that, we're going in reletively blind; except for the information I could glean of the worlds; which can give us some educated guesses as to who or what we'll encounter." Crocodile felt it was time to remain silent for now. He had said his peace and voiced his concerns about Emerald and her plan. But he couldn't deny that is plan wasn't much better than hers. If he planned on using Emerald and the team, he would have to get use to following along with their strategies and letting them do their part. A lesson Crocodile had to be reminded of all to often. "One final briefing, so you're not going in totally blind, and I'll send everyone to their destination." Emerald waited for the metaphorical groan from those eager to leave to pass. But, aside from stopping the minor squabbles that began breaking out, everything Emerald had to say was important and she was trying to give the details in the easiest way for everyone to digest and understand. "I tracked to Dragon Balls to two different worlds," Emerald said, "So that means two teams of six. I've done my best to try and figure out who is best suited for which world and which team." <Mostly based on your interactions,> Sparda chimed in. "The worlds you'll be going to are both home to former Universal Warriors. The first is an ancient world, inhabited by people who can bend elements. This world will most likely have the elemental, the woman crocodile referred to earlier. She's a powerful fighter who can control fire, and has an army of fire benders at her disposal. The team for this world will be; Katie, Katrina, Crocodile, Edward, Spike, and Captain Marvelous." Then other thing she needed to address was to Katrina, "Vanilor will have to wait here. Spadra doesn't have the energy to safely transport him yet; but we can keep your mental link in tact." <If need be, I can tap into my emergency reserves and have Vanilor at your side in an instant.> Sparda voiced his concerns to Emerald, but she had her reasons for building this team. Edward had yet to truly prove himself, though he did fight valiantly in his shop when ninjas attacked. Still, he needed a team that could protect him. Meanwhile, Crocodile needed to aligned with people Emerald could trust to keep their eye on him without things escalating to in fighting. After her mental conversation with her dragon, she continued, "The other world is home to many types of aliens, one in particular is the Cult's hunter. Chances are, you'll encounter him there. I can't tell you too much about him, since he kept his distance - Kasumi had dealings with him in the past; good thing for us his plan backfired. As far as abilities goes, I can't say, so be careful. The rest of you will be going to this world. Just so we're clear, that means, Kasumi, Ace, Isabella, Logan, Dean, and Spider-Man." <If you have any last questions, ask now,> Sparda said, <But if you're ready, A-Team, get on and I'll take you to fight.> "The last thing," Emerald said, pulling out crystals for everyone. As she passed them out, she said, "Sparda and I infused these with a spell. If you find yourself in over your head, break the crystal and you'll be brought back here." <We worked the spell so that only someone from this group can break them, and only on purpose. But don't expect me to bring you back to the fight after you break your crystal, after transporting so many people I'm going to need a break or else the spell won't work properly.> "A wise choice in teams. Let us hope my team will be as equipped to handle benders as you and I were last time. I don't plan on letting that Fire Bender bitch get away this time. Not until she gets whats coming to her...", Crocodile finished with a smile and headed for his ride, ready to embark on his new conquest adventure.

Marvelous was silent as the stones and orders were passed out.
"Impressive, then let's make it showy" he mused aloud before looking to his team. Either he had stepped out of line or Emerald trusted him to help keep Crocodile in line, Marvelous figured. He noticed that his #1 fan was also in the group, he hoped that wouldn't be a problem, same with Crocodile. Though the fancy man was acting professional now, while the girl quickly started to converse with Katrina. He shrugged, following behind towards where they were going to be transported. Then he had a thought as he walked towards Emerald. he looked her right in the eyes before speaking up,
"...don't touch my ship. Might try and call on it if we need the firepower. Also, have you seen my bird?"

Katrina listened as Marvelous introduced himself to the group after her. His flamboyant clothing led her to believe he was some type of noble when she first saw him, and his proclamation of being a captain used to leading only confirmed that suspicion. Then, oddly enough, he essentially put to rest the idea that he might still crave that previous power, by paying Emerald a great deal of respectful acknowledgment. Katrina smiled subtly; he must have been a good leader where he was from. Apparently, her sister Katie picked up on the same vibes and began gushing utterly over Marvelous. She literally ran circles around the man, spouting information that, for some reason, Katrina felt guilty for having no clue what she was talking about. Katrina's smirk became one of bemusement as she watched her kin squeal and sing an unknown song. She didn't exactly have the voice of n elf, but she missed the sound of it. It was a much better alternative to the silence of death that filled her ears for centuries. Katrina and Vanilor both felt the brush of Emerald's consciousness. It was a friendly touch, but a curious one as well. Katrina resisted the urge to recoil from a mind that wasn't Vanilor, though the dragon seemed to unwelcome the touch, which Emerald would be able to pick up on, most likely. Crocodile's next words would stir feeling inside that Katrina had nearly forgotten she was capable of feeling. He mentioned--with pride, a past that included the murder of Sith, Mistborn, and even dragons. Katrina managed to maintain her composure, despite his offensive words. Vanilor however, was less inclined to keep his calm. The silver-scaled dragon loosed at Sir Crocodile a snarl; a low grumble in his throat like oncoming thunder. The dragon sent a powerful thought outward, though directed mainly into Crocodile's mind. <Remember your place, and speak softly, little man. There are always bigger fish.>
All in all, Katrina was glad he didn't say anything worse, but she sincerely hoped he didn't stir things up with his mental comment. She couldn't help but notice Katie finally spotting her sibling and giving her a warm smile. It was like a knife to the heart in all honesty. All the built up nostalgia hit her like a wall, and Katrina couldn't help but drop any defense she might have. She didn't want to put herself on display, but she didn't let that stop her from giving her sister a tight hug for a few moments. "I have lost my family many lifetimes ago. Seeing you again is like a dream within a dream, Katie." Katrina was faintly aware of Kasumi, Portgas and Spider-Man all voicing their readiness for what was to come. Were it not for her specialized ears, she might have missed Emerald's explanation. She wasn't aware of any Dracula, but the name sent a shiver down her down. An evil vampire? It wasn't anything new, but this one just felt different. Someone able to take something valuable from Emerald and live surely had to be a threat, if nothing else. When Emerald brought up why she wouldn't be fighting, the shiver magnified. Was Emerald trembling? She shared a glance with Vanilor; they both had the same suspicion. If they were right, Emerald should definitely stay behind, but at the same time, if they were right... Katrina made a mental note to speak to Emerald in relative privacy later. "I'm here now Kat." She said softly, "You look good, just as beautiful as ever. We'll have to talk in private when we get the chance" Katie was still blushing madly from the surprise hug, and her heart was beating a mile a minute. She really hoped Katrina or Vanilor couldn't pick up her thoughts right now as they were rather... unsisterly in nature. With the missions starting to be laid out Katie turned back to Katrina. It worried her that Katrina hadn't acknowledged what she'd said to her. Katie put a hand on her sister's shoulder and gently shook it to get her attention. "Hey Kat, is everything okay? You got really quiet. I'm worried about you, we're about to go into battle. If something is wrong I'd like to know so I can help if I can.

"Sounds good to me." Ace listened as the order of the teams were given out and upon Emerald finishing, Ace couldn't help but give one more cocky smirk. Folding his arms behind his head, the pirate glanced around from those who had been said to be on his team. He had the short guy who looked like he had a pretty gruff attitude but him and Ace had at least agreed that they both felt qualified enough for the task set before them despite Katie's concern to the contrary. Anybody he could agree with was alright in his book. Then there was the thief. In his time as the captain of the Spade Pirates, Ace had done some theft here and there. Nothing too big to really get the full brunt of the navy down on him. But enough so that he felt comfortable around someone like Kasumi. Besides, he didn't have much to steal on him anyhow. Just a general rule of thumb to avoid unnecessary attention and because he didn't need to wear any kind of fancy stuff to show that he was a successful pirate. The tattoo on his back was proof enough of that. Then there was the chick with the deep tan who hadn't really said much. She looked like some of the pirates Ace had come across in his travels. Though if she was here than he imagined she could also hold her own. Whitebeard had a policy of no women taking up battle roles on his ship, they were there only to serve as his nurses but Ace didn't mind it. The sea didn't discriminate in tearing you a new one whether you had breasts or not. Just as long as you carried your weight then it didn't matter what gender you were. Ace hadn't spoken enough to Dean to form that much of a conscious opinion on him. Aside from what Dean had said about himself. Hunting and fighting the paranormal and the like. Didn't sound like anything Ace had seen in his travels upon the great seas but maybe if he hung around with this guy long enough, he'd have quite the stories to tell when he eventually went back home. He supposed it earned Dean some cred in his eyes for basically sharing the same mentality when it came down to taking a life. Finally, there was the guy in spandex who went by the name of Spider-Man. Ace had tried his best to learn how to be polite from a young age. But he really couldn't slice it one way or the other. That guy looked weird. Having scoped out his teammates however, Ace shot a glare Crocodile's way as fire flared at his fingertip. "I'd watch yourself, Crocodile. You step into the ring with fire, you best go in ready. Or else you're gonna end up getting burned."

Emerald ignored most of the responses, as mostly the team was just affirming their preparedness. There was one question she sighed at, however. "Who's in charge though?"
She figured this was going to need addressing, but considering the amount of push back she got on establishing herself as the leader she expected some resistance if she promoted anyone above the others. "For the first team, Katie and Katrina have the most insight on the Cult itself. It's been a long time, and the Cult has changed over the centuries, but still they have experience with this. So anyone in that group should defer to them. However, Crocodile does have direct experience against the Elemental and her soldiers, and so his advice should be followed." "For the second group, some of you may not trust her, but Kasumi helped me find all of you. She has a small amount of insight on your capabilities and she has bested the Hunter once. At the same time, Logan knows war and has the most combat experience. They're the ones you should look to for strategic leadership." Sparda sensed Emerald's feelings on the subject of leadership. He knew her answers were just to give them some structure. And so he added on, <You'll all heroes, and all experienced. The strength of this team doesn't come from the leadership of one, but the combined talents and knowledge from each of you. On the battlefield you're all equals and all valuable. The challenge we face can only be over come by attacking if from the perspectives that come from each of our universes. Emerald assigned field leaders, but that doesn't put anyone of you above anyone else. Just don't step on each other's toes.> Emerald sighed, "We clear? Then, as my dad used to say, Let's Rock!" Sparda knelt down for the first team to board. Once they were on, Sparda would take to the sky and fly through the barrier between dimensions and to their destination
OOC: Team 1 refers to Katie, Katrina, Crocodile, Edward, Spike, and Captain Marvelous.

Dean's eyes flitted from one member of his group-- B-Team-- to the next. Kasumi made him remember a different thief from his own world-- Bela Talbot. There'd always been a tension between them, but Dean had hated Bela from the beginning. That was because she'd invaded his father's personal storage of artifacts and things, though, so Kasumi hadn't stepped on toes quite so personal. But Kasumi seemed a bit more on the dangerous side of the thief spectrum than the somewhat laid-back, approachable Bela. He'd been a bit confused about what to think about Bela until her death by hellhound a couple years back. Maybe Kasumi wasn't going to end up on his bad side. Ace didn't seem like someone you'd want to screw around with-- that wouldn't stop Dean if he had to, of course-- and his mannerisms wavered between icy cold and flaming hot depending on who we was talking to. It looked like he had some beef with Crocodile over there, but other than that he was downright amicable. They hadn't yet spoken directly, but Dean suspected they might be friends one day, sort of like a more down-to-earth Garth. Isabela took him a moment to find-- she'd yet to speak at all, as far as he knew. He'd reserve judgment until that point. Logan was someone who reminded him of Bobby-- right to business, no time for bullshit. He could see he'd had his share of love and loss, probably a bit more of the latter than the former. He was a full head shorter than Dean but he had so much presence it seemed they were eye to eye. Not to mention the fact that he was friggin' Wolverine. Spider-Man, as stated previously, wasn't someone Dean knew much about other than having heard his name before in his life. Does whatever a spider can, whatever. He was a lithe man nonetheless, and Dean could see he knew his way around a fight. All in all, Dean was pretty happy with his team. At Emerald's assignment of field leadership and then at Sparda's further enunciation as to what she meant, Dean nodded with a shrug. He had no problem following Kasumi or Logan, since Emerald trusted them with leadership. They just needed to understand that everyone in the group wasn't a soldier working only for them and Dean would be fine.

"I'd watch yourself, Crocodile. You step into the ring with fire, you best go in ready. Or else you're gonna end up getting burned." Crocodile paused his stride and returned Ace's glare with his own un-amused look, "Best watch yourself, boy. Your brother and I won't be there to come for you like we did last time. Just be thankful you made it here in the first place..." Crocodile was uninterested in a response from Ace and continued to Sparda. As far as Croc was concerned, Ace had already died. And Croc wasn't interested in dead people's opinions.

Sparda took his first group of passengers to the sky before a blue sphere engulfed the dragon and in an instant he was gone. But, regardless of how long he was away, to those still at the look out less than a second passed before Sparda returned, alone. He glided back down to the group who remained. <Hope I wasn't too long,> he mused. After carrying 6 passengers, he was noticeably more tired than when he left. A combination of all the traveling he's done to bring the group together and this last transport. Still, the dragon had more than enough energy to make another jump as he knelt down for the remaining 6 warriors. <Is everyone ready?> he asked. If there were no objections or questions, once everyone climbed on, Sparda would again take to the skies and transport the team in another blue sphere of energy, taking them to their world.

Huh. Logan couldn't say he was surprised. He wasn't really, just that he kinda half expected it considering, ya know, his bloody history. Not something to be proud of but eh, if he could put his talents to use, he would. And if he could keep the younguns alive too while he was at it, that was a bonus. Not like it was easy to kill him and he was arguably renown for his tenacity in a fight. Just ask the Hulk, he'd tell ya Logan was a tiny, puny yellow gnat that just wouldn't quit. Heh, not that he was fond of fighting the big guy; getting hammered by him felt akin to having his spirit leave his body momentarily, before reality set back in and the pain flooded in. Jesus. If ya wanted a wake up call, he knew just the guy to direct ya to. Anyway, onto sizing up his teammates, seeing that they were assigned teams now. Never mind the fact at least two of em was bigger than him. : | Kasumi Goto, the thief, was on his team and she was the other team leader. This'll prove interesting. Then fire boy and the pretty boy, he got good vibes off of em. He could work with these two he thought, they didn't grate on his nerves like the A-Team did. That name didn't do em justice he thought. Never mind that, he moved onto the final one: Spider-man. There wasn't much to say, he was more than pleased the boy was on his team. Someone he could rely on in the thick of it, if necessary. " Right, we'll talk shop on the way I suppose."

"I'm here now Kat." She said softly, "You look good, just as beautiful as ever. We'll have to talk in private when we get the chance." Said Katie.
Katrina smiled at her sister's kind words. The compliments were something she was used to by now, and hearing them again reminded her of the olden days. In response, Katrina merely nodded, unable to turn away from the spectacle between Emerald and Crocodile. He made a few good points, but the delivery was propostrous. Be that as it may, Emerald handled it as well as anyone could, although the watery puddle confused the vampire. Crocodile himself seemed to ignore it altogether, indicating he was either completely oblivious (not likely) or holding his cards close to his chest, probably much more likely. What part the puddle had to play was still a mystery.
Katrina had no further questions as she listened to Emerald lay out what she knew. Then, came what she suspected; Vanilor had to stay. Vanilor himself saw it coming--he knew it when they first arrived to the lookout and saw how much it had taken out of Sparda. Repeated trips with a creature twice his size would likely kill him as quickly as Katrina using magic to lift a mountain. "Vanilor--"
<It is alright, my blödhälfa. You are more ancient than I, I only ask you exercise caution. I would destroy cities in my anguish, were you not to return.>
'I will tread lightly,' Katrina promised, gently placing her marked palm on her dragon's jaw. Vanilor closed his eyes and the two shared a comforting memory of a more peaceful time. A memory of simply soaring through the clouds on a beautiful day, the winds lifting them. Katrina maintained her composure, despite the pang of sadness that tugged at her soul. They were together much more often than not. Nothing worse than his occasional hunting trips ever kept them apart. Something about being a universe away was exponentially more ominous. Upon Vanilor's request, Katrina unsheathed her sword and placed it's jewel against his scales.
<A portion of my strength, should your own fail you. And remember your crystal!>
Katrina smiled and hugged Vanilor. 'I will return.'
"Hey Kat, is everything okay? You got really quiet. I'm worried about you, we're about to go into battle. If something is wrong I'd like to know so I can help if I can." Katie said.
"Apologies," Katrina started. "I have become quite accustomed to mental conversations with Vanilor; at times it seems to the observer we are silent for hours whilst talking. Everything is fine," she assured her sister. Upon hearing Emerald's assignment of 'roles', Katrina felt a certain pressure weigh down on her shoulders. She wasn't used to leading--at heart she was a warrior. In her earlier days, she had been called many things, from Monster of Nosgoth to Demon-Witch of Alagaesia. Never a leader of any kind. Regardless, she silently accepted the role and boarded Sparda. Vanilor watched as they rose into the sky and disappeared in a azure flash.
