It started when Akuma gathered fighters from all throughout the multiverse to compete against one and other. And though his goals were unclear, he was defeated before his plans could come to fruition. His masters in the Cult were displeased, but they began their work again. This time, heroes were gathered, under the guise of stopping them - when in reality they were used to further the Cult's goals. When this second Universal Warriors team learned the truth, they went to war to stop the Cult from reviving their god; and they failed. With Cthulu freed, all of reality wad threatened. More heroes joined the cause, and soon an army of champions formed. They journeyed to countless worlds and, eventually, they managed to defeat Cthulu. They killed the Great Old One, leaving the Cult to scatter to the far corners of the Multiverse. Now, the Cult is once again growing in power. They have found a way to revive their evil God, and one hero - who grew up in the Cult War and has spent her life battling against the Cult - has gathered a new Army to stop them. After visiting each one personally, and having many harrowing trails with them, they have finally come together in one of the few remaining world's the Cult can't reach Emerald stood before the group, holding her sword at her hip. She placed her hand on the pommel of her sword as he looked at the heroes. This was quite and impressive group she had gathered. All of whom arrived at approximately the same time, thanks to nature of Time and Dimesnion Travel. Although for Emerald this gathering had taken days to prepare. Behind Emerald, her greatest companion Sparda, laid curled up. <Well,> Sparda spoke to her through her mind, <You have their attention.> Emerald cleared her throat, "Thank you all for coming. I understand that what I'm asking you to do here is a momentous task. Some of you have already had the misfortune of meeting our enemies first hand. So now, I think it's appropriate you all meet one and other." <So consider this a role call,> Sparda said through the minds of everyone, <State your name and let everyone know what you can do.>

Katie Marek was barely paying attention to what was being said. She was too dazzled by her surroundings to even register who else was here on a conscious level. She knew this place, she'd seen it on TV and in video games. Never, even in her wildest dreams did she ever think she would set foot here, before today she had been pretty sure that here didn't exist. Needless to say she lit up like a girl half her age who had just been given the keys to the candy store.
"We're on the Lookout! Oh, this is so cool! Are we going to get to meet the Z Fighters? I wonder if I can get their autographs?" She rambled in her thick Philadelphia accent. Hearing Sparda's words the young warrior reigned herself in. "Ah, um yes. My name is Katie Marek. I'm a bit of an oddity all things considered as my parents are from two different universes. I am what called a Mistborn which means I ingest certain metals to get supernatural abilities. I'm also a Jedi, which is something probably more well known. My parents. Vin and Galen Marek fought the cult several times. I have also fought them in the past and traveled across time and space with the Doctor. There I think that covers the important stuff."

Edward said nothing. He was suspicious of all of the non-local people around him.

On her part, she maintained her tactical invisibility cloak while standing amidst this group at large. Not because she was afraid of being seen standing with these people against this cult of crazy or evil or both...but because there was more important things to do first. Namely, check these people out. First off, a quick periphery glance at Edward told her enough. Wide-rimmed glasses, messed up teeth and a general air of stuffiness. Definitely an Englishman. But seemingly nothing special about him...hmm.
She stepped past him, skipping silently right along to Katie Marek, eyeing something on her belt. Ooh, that's plenty shiny. To a short, especially hairy and brute-looking man. A quick scan with her omni-tool indicated that his entire skeleton was coated in a ridiculously dense but unknown alloy of metal. How about that? She leaned in close to take a quick picture of her giving him bunny ears before pulling back and moving on. Next was this much larger man, in contrast. He too, had metal! She reached over gingerly, tapping the golden hook. You'd be worth a fortune on the black market from the mineral alone, hehehe. Sliding on past that guy, she approached a man with close-cropped brown hair. Why are you so special, handsome? The blonde man reminded her of the Matrix look. All that leather. Plus another omni-tool scan, this one indicating that despite his appearance...he wasn't quite human. Something off internally. As did the next person she sidled past, a young looking woman with brown flowing hair. Dressed elegantly, almost like the stereotypical princess from the old movies. The next guy, she stood in front of for a while and gave a long, appreciative lookover. I like your coat! That'd be worth more than a pretty penny. Keiji would have loved to have it. She gave an unseen thumbs up to Captain Marvelous before stepping back. Following right along was a guy with an even more outlandish outfit. Covered head to toe in red and blue...spandex. A spider affiliation, if the emblem on the front was any indication. And no discernable pockets with anything to swipe. Huh, pity. Could have added stolen something from a spider person to the resumé. The dude right after that though. Hoo boy. The guy dressed like he was ready for a summer vacation on the beaches, not fighting a cult. But hey, he wore the look well. She thought with a shrug.
And finally, there was certainly an exotic looking woman. That almost made her like her on principle. What sealed the deal was her general look. If I had to guess, she's in a similar trade or profession to my own. Minus a few centuries. She smirked, stepping back and finally uncloaking. "Hi. I'm Kasumi. You guys have such nice things."

Katie eyed Kasumi wearily. Anyone who had to walk around a group cloaked was probably less than trustworthy. Katie had sensed Kasumi's presence with her Force abilities and had been just about to call er out when she revealed herself so she didn't feel the need to reveal that ace in the hole now. That said she'd be watching this woman very carefully.
Katie quickly made inventory of her personal affects and found them all there. "Just what were you doing skulking around us invisible? That was incredibly rude." Katie snapped. She actually had choicer words in mind but didn't want to make a bad first impression on everyone. "Yes, I do have nice things. The important thing to remember is that they are mine." Katie sent Kasumi a warning death glare. Her mother was a thief growing up so Katie had been taught about the trade. With someone like Kasumi around she'd be keeping a close eye on her valuables and if the girl so much as tried to steal something of hers.... it wouldn't end well.

Spike looked over his surroundings and the massive purple dragon caught Spike's eye. He hasn't seen many dragons in his time at least this impressive of a dragon. The dragon spoke to him through his mind, 'Oh great telepathy.' Spike thought.
Before Spike could speak his new "ally." was sneaking around the group. Spike smelling her with his enhanced smelling doesn't pay her much attention.
"Names Spike Puff the Magic Dragon." Spike said smiling. "What can I do? I'm a vampire, legendary vampire, and well now a champion of my world. I have bested the best fighters of my world three different times. The last one I would have beaten if it wasn't for her mum." Spike said with a grin on his face. 'Damn I miss Joyce.' He thought of Buffy's mother Joyce Summers.

As for Logan, he just took to standing dead center in the mish-mash crowd of newcomers of all sorts. This was just another multiversal gig and it showed itself. The selection of people here made it explicitly clear some of these folks weren't of his universe. Still though, that had never been enough for Logan to not stop himself from appraising others. He was no paragon of virtues or morals which left him in a fairly excellent position to be judgmental whenever the need was merited. For one: he had no love for the Edward fellow nearby, having deduced plenty enough in a single glance. His appearance left much to be desired and his demeanor? Simply put, Wolverine already plainly disliked the man. Then there was Katie, the girl who'd taken the liberty of being first to introduced herself. She seemed real eager, in a way she was partially reminded of X-23 from what she'd said. A distinct reminder at best and despite her age, she'd already traversed plenty enough. He couldn't decide whether that'd been fortunate or unfortunate in of itself. Time'd tell. There was something that'd bothered him consistently: smell of sand, arid and dry in its nature. There weren't any discernible sources of sand he could detect. Yet. The smell kept coming from the stuffy man with a golden hook for a left hand. He looked rough and tough, fairly weathered by life's experiences Logan took it. Still, the scent was a mystery, perhaps it let on more than he realized. And then there was pretty boy who looked like he'd bit into a shit sandwich. What made it seemed that he had a rough life? Maybe he did. Still though, Logan didn't really garner much from him other than a hardened soul. Maybe they'd get along over a few pints, maybe not. Blondie boy though, he wore black like he owned it. Probably more than Logan ever wore all at once. His scent gave a hint that he wasn't entirely human either. Not at all, maybe something different. Supernatural. He'd keep an eye on this fellow; those sorts always made for an interesting interaction, especially at gatherings like these. Still, these were cynical thought processes... Another girl, one that smelled similar to the prior. But also older. Far older. This lent itself to Logan's inkling that she was probably something similar but wholly different. Different universes tend to have their own twists on the same ideas anyway. Maybe she was nice, who knew? He'd find out later. Logan bemoaned the foreseen potential for a social gathering; just get in, do the job, and get out already. Don't get him started on the guy in red. Actually he wouldn't even get started; he hardly batted an eye when he saw the fellow. Plenty of supers back home that took to weary bizarre outfits. Villains too. Hell, he'd had his own outlandish outfits at times too. Though he was certain the man was Japanese. The Japanese folks he knew back home were esoteric even among the superheroic community so it came to him as no surprise at all. They meant good though, so he ranked Captain Marvelous at the bottom of his cautionary (shit)list. Yea, he saw webhead. What's there to say about him? Spidey-boy's always been reliable when it came right down to it, in the nick of time. Maybe he was a boy scout through and through but he was one of the kids Logan genuinely liked at least. That and the boy could kick his ass easily if he wanted to, as much as he'd like to not admit it. That alone merited respect and more so his stances on many a things. At least Wolverine knew someone here, that'd oughta make things go smoother. Soot. He smelled soot, just a faint tinge. Like someone was tracking ashes? Naw, that wasn't it. He glanced to the boy that was more or less topless in beach shorts with a smattering of accessories. Logan couldn't say he disliked his taste in hats. He wasn't sure where to put him in the grand scheme of it all with everyone else but nonetheless, suffice it to say he wasn't as suspicious of him as he might've been of others. And finally, there was a woman that certainly caught his gaze. Of the exotic variety and adorned in somewhat a revealing attire. Naturally she'd catch his eye. And that made her dangerous in his mind; she seemed dressed like a pirate and no universe was the same. Not everyone had ta be modern like he was. She'd an attitude to boot too, how she was holding herself. Either way, she certainly would be a handful. But that wasn't all actually. A woman in black made her appearance, spiriting in from the air. He could tell that was tech almost immediately, nothing about it was like magic and believe you me he'd plenty of experience with the latter. Just as much as the former. Her tone was sweet though mischievous. Logan surmised, with the help of her words of course, that she was probably a thief of some sort. The kind that couldn't help but help herself to the things whenever she felt like it. For the fun of it and maybe more. An honest thief. He was reminded of Gambit. He snorted briefly, honestly amused and impressed with this ragtag band of misfits. Essentially that's what they were. Misfits. He gave a final glance about before he nodded, flicking the top of his hat up to reveal his keen eyes. Maybe it'd do just to be curt and right to the point. Provide a summary, with a name attached of course. " I ain't braggin' when I say this. I'm the best there is at what I do. But what I do best isn't very nice." A resounding SNIKT followed. His left hand would be lifted, held out for all to see with three gleaming blades extended seemingly from the knuckles of his hand. There would be a smidge bit of blood adorning the blades, typical of forcing claws of incredibly potent lethality through the skin. " The name's Logan. Nice to meetcha." SNIKT

Katie eyed Katsumi wearily. Anyone who had to walk around a group cloaked was probably less than trustworthy. Kasumi answered, as playfully as ever, uncaring in the least that she had deemed it rude. She lived by her standards and no one else's. If they wanted to take offense, as far as she was concerned that was their problem. "I had to see who these compatriots of mine would be. I helped gather you all together, don't you know? Think of it as insurance." She replied before raising her hands in a conciliatory gesture. "No need to get possessive now. I swear I didn't take anything from you in particular. I wouldn't announce it first of all. And if I did take it, you'd never even know." She winked.

Huh. That'd explain quite a bit how he was found. This girl'd lent a hand to Emerald in rounding up the winners for the cruise trip to the known multiverse. That'd meant she knew more about em? Maybe. That always left him wary, dealing with people that knew more than he did. Knew more than they should've, actually. But as esoteric as her demeanor may have been, she seemed pleasant enough. Eternally the suspicious cynic, Logan had to make an effort for new people. First impressions said a lot and at the same time little. Lasting impressions carried far more weight.
That and he checked for his Cubans inside his pocket for their safety. Hopefully she didn't have a predilection for smoking.

Katie said nothing at first, merely smirking at the futuristic thief. Honestly it was adorable how Kasumi thought she'd be able to steal from her. Unlike her usual quarry Katie wasn't so limited in her perceptions as to be fooled by the cloak and other technology. "I'd love to see you try." "You'd be surprised by what I know." She thought.

Ace didn't really want too much out of life. Turns out being the son of the most notorious pirate to have ever lived didn't earn you too many friends. Often times he pondered why he kept on living if all he ever got thrown his way was constant belittling and hate. But after getting older and striking out on his own, Ace finally figured out what he had been missing the whole time. That was a purpose to keep on living. Sure, he was the son of Gol D. Roger. Sure that left people thinking he'd just grow up to try and fill his father's shoes. But in actuality Ace didn't think too hard when people brought his father's name up. He had been executed by the time Ace's mother gave birth to their son. From there she had handed him off to Vice-Admiral Monkey D. Garp to give him the life that he couldn't have with her. She passed on soon after. Which didn't leave Ace with too many options. His adoptive grandfather pounded it into his head that he was to become a powerful marine and that all the thoughts of becoming a pirate like his dad needed to go. This naturally didn't sit well with Ace, nor his 'brother' Monkey D. Luffy, son of the infamous leader of the Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon. Both wanted to be pirates and despite Garp's attitude to the contrary both brothers ended up taking that turn. Only in different directions. While Luffy formed his own crew and became an admirable captain in his own right, Ace's own meager crew was absorbed into that of the Whitebeard Pirates. At first Ace hated Whitebeard and attempted numerous assassinations but all failed and it was through those experiences that Ace had finally found what he had been looking for. His purpose was to help Whitebeard become king of the pirates or die trying. But there were still some loose ends that had to be taken care of and when all this Cult business was dealt with, that's what Ace would have returned to. For now though he grinned as all of the others started introducing themselves. He seemed like he could really get along here. "Introductions, eh? Well, most folks call me 'Fire Fist.' But you can all call me Portgas D. Ace, commander of the Whitebeard Pirate's Second Division." He'd proclaim with his grin growing ever so bigger as flame began to emit from his fingertips which he posed in the shape of guns. "Ate the Devil Fruit known as the Flare-Flare Fruit. Which makes me into a fireman. That ought to be enough, right?"

Spider-Man stood by the wall and watche'd the 2 young ladies interaction. He looked around the room at the assortment of charters.
"I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." He thought to himself. He didn't recognize anybody, except for Logan. He was happy to see Logan. At the same time, was Logan the only hero he knew crazy enough to take such a mission? He pushed himself off the wall before he spoke.
"Uh, hi. I'm Spider-Man. I hope some of you are feeling that crazy feeling that I'm feeling. I don't know any of you, besides you" he points at Logan then waves "hey Logan! Anyways, that's me. If you need anything else, just ask" he says as he hold his arms in an awkward way in the air

It was finally time to meet the rest of his crew...
Sir Crocodile towered over the other members of his team as he inspected them, curious as to see what kind of team Emerald had cooked up for him. His attention was first drawn to the tech girl, Kasumi. "Smart to scout us out first, but foolish to reveal her cloaking power so soon. She will be useful nonetheless." Crocodile cared little that she was a thief, as he had nothing she could take from him. His eyes then moved on to the very short man with the knives coming out of his fist. "Best at what you do, eh? We will see," Croc noted to keep on this... Logan. If his powers were anything like Daz Bones, then he could make a successful Mr. 1. Croc had little interest in the others, but examined them anyway. "Four unknowns, Three pirates, two heroes and one very uncomfortable man... Tch, this is why I don't to team-ups."
Crocodile lit his cigar and held the smoke for a full ten seconds before introducing himself, "I don't do heartfelt introductions to my crew. I am former Shichibukai, Sir Crocodile. That is all you need to know."

Emerald sat back, analyzing this group as a whole. She began to worry how they'd do on the field. If they couldn't get along or trust one and other, things would go down hill quickly. And it wouldn't matter that each one was a powerful fighter in their own right. Well, most of them. Then there was Edward.
Emerald sighed, already feeling bad for bringing him along. She felt like she was signing his death warrant. Bringing him was a mistake... In fact it wasn't even supposed to happen. <Don't worry,> Sparda spoke to her, <You did what you to. If you had left him he'd be a target for the Cult.>
<I just hope he doesn't get himself killed, and that...>
<Remember what you told me of your childhood? You were never built for this either, and look at you now.>
Then there was the issue brewing with Katie and Kasumi. Emerald saw Katie's point instantly; an admitted thief sneaking around and checking everyone's stuff would give her reason enough to make her suspicious. Still, she needed to diffuse the situation. She turned her voice toward the two, "Katie, allow me to apologize for the invasion of privacy," she said, "But Kasumi meant no harm, I'm sure. Everyone here has earned my trust and are worthy of yours. If anyone breaks that trust, I would myself personally responsible and they'll be accountable to me directly. Understood?"
<I'm impressed.> Sparda spoke in her mind, <You even have me fooled by this 'stern but fair' leadership persona you're adopting.>
<Well, if I can make them believe I know what I'm doing; maybe I'll start to believe it myself.>
Sparda scanned the group, <So everyone's earned your trust? Even the sandcastle?>
Emerald eyed Crocodile, who was still convinced he was the leader. No, she didn't trust him; but that's why she brought Ace along. Two sides of a similar coin, hopefully Ace could keep an eye on him. Still, she'd need to do something about Croc's leadership delusions, before they caused problems. She decided now wasn't the time, but a word with him before sending him out to the field was in order. There were still a few introductions to get through before she laid the situation out for the whole group.
