Street Fighter and GI Joe? Fucking awesome. IDW is killing it. My god...So that means we will get Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Duke, and others probably trying to take down Bison who is working with Cobra if I had to guess. Sounds great. That's pretty much the gist of it. A good old fashioned villain team up and a tournament featuring some of the most iconic fictional fighters in history. What more could you want? The Capcom Crossover Train hasn't stopped even now. An RPG game called 'Blood Brothers 2' will be featuring Ryu, Bison and Cammy after the three of them fall through an interdimensional portal made by Shadaloo.

Nice that's good. What system is that RPG game for? Oh by the way fuck Marvel. Your Secret Wars was complete shit, comes out late, and you did the one thing everything knew you were going to do. You just mashed shit together and once again don't have the balls to reboot. Oh and you fucking release the new number ones and Post Secret Wars when the main book Secret Wars is not even over yet. Marvel is a best and there are comic fans still acting like there shit don't stink. IDW, Image, Dynamite, and DC are still blowing your ass out the water creative ways.

I think it's on mobile devices. As for comic book crossover news, Dynamite have been making a 'Sherlock Holmes vs. Harry Houdini' series recently. Pretty cool. I'm sure that there are many more crossovers in the works.

That Sherlock and Harry one has been out for a very good while now. I am not much of a Sherlock fan so I did not read it. Dynamite has so many crossovers its not even funny anymore. There always putting out good shit as well. Like there there Vampirella v. Aliens. Honestly once I need to catch up with Dynamite. I got the first issue of James Bond and its great. I told my comic store to add that to my books.

There's been way too many of them. Aliens versus this, Aliens versus that, Aliens versus this and that. I'm sure that there have been loads of great ones, but it's becoming quite a stale idea to just pit Xenomorphs against every edgy comic book character/franchise known to man. I honestly thought that the Holmes/Houdini crossover was really recent. Guess I was wrong there. I am a huge Sherlock Holmes fan (not just the BBC modern version, though that show is bloody spectacular), so the Holmes vs Harry one immediately caught my attention.

Yeah there overusing the Aliens and risk ruining a great character because you know they lose in the end.

If I recall correctly, they've fought Superman, Batman, the WildC.A.T.s, the Predator, the Terminator, Vampirella... Am I missing anyone else? I could've swore that they encountered Judge Dredd before too, but I don't know.
I've also heard of a Zorro/Django crossover comic that came out a while ago. The crossover comics never stop. And that's just the way I like it.

Okay, so the opening brackets of the tournament in Street Fighter X G.I. Joe are revealed, and the matches are very unexpected on purpose...
Rufus vs. The Baroness (really) Hakan vs. Roadblock Ryu vs. Jinx Crimson Viper vs. Snake Eyes Dan Hibiki vs. Chun-Li Guile vs. Gung-Ho Cammy vs. Bison Storm Shadow vs. Croc Master
Yeah, some of them are pretty out there. It's weird that almost half of them are "canon" match-ups between characters from one series. There are two of these involving Street Fighter characters, so it looks like it's an uneven distribution of characters from each franchise, but Destro is involved as well, just not as a fighter.
What's especially awesome is that the roster of SF characters is almost the exact one I would implement in a crossover (I would have included at least one Street Fighter III character, though). I mean, who would have thought a great offbeat character that'll probably never show up in the games again like Hakan would appear in this thing? I also like how the lead writer discusses the character choices and why he's made those specific match ups in the interviews.

So... Civil War II is a thing. Remember when Marvel said that if they ever did a crossover between Earth-616 and Ultimate Marvel/Earth-1610 characters, they'd be officially out of ideas? Well, now they're REALLY out of ideas from the looks of it. To be fair though, doing sequels to popular storylines has never been anything knew. There was a Secret Wars II after all, but as I expect Civil War II to be, it was forgettable and no one cared about it. Marvel has been around for about 7 decades now, so ideas are of course going to be reused at some point, but to have a sequel to Civil War show up less than a decade after the first only to obviously cash in on the MCU hype is so transparent that it's shameless.
Civil War II, from the promotional material, seems to be a mix of Civil War I and Avengers vs. X-Men, two extremely divisive crossover events that you wouldn't think Marvel would want to revisit anytime soon, at least not in comic form. But here we are. The plot centres around a new Inhuman who can predict the future. Considering how expansive the Marvel universe is, I'm almost positive that there must be at least a couple dozen other heroes who have that ability already. Even if there isn't, it's clear that this character is literally just created to be a plot device to drive the central conflict between Carol Danvers and Tony Stark, with Carol apparently wanting to use the Inhuman for preemptive justice and Stark wanting to just leave the guy alone, in turn leaving things as they are. The whole idea of a powerful, new character showing up whose abilties can't be put into the wrong hands so a bunch of heroes have to fight n' stuff is pretty much AVX, while the general idea of two factions of Avengers going to war with one side led by the ever-popular Iron Man is from the original Civil War.
The one positive jive I'm getting from this event is that at least Tony seems to have developed as a character, going from the one wishing to organise vigilantism with unreasonable force to being the rebel wanting to maintain the status quo. That at least is somewhat interesting.

Amen. I am so disgusted with Marvel and there fans its not funny. They get away with so much bad crap in there current comics its mind blowing. That universe needs a fucking reboot. What the hell is it going to take for Marvel to do it? Also seriously none of Marvel's characters don't already have the ability to tell the future? LOL did Marvel screw around with people's powers again and I was unaware of it? Wow Marvel...
On the good side DC has been awesome (Loved the Vandal Savage arc in Superman related comics for example), Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is beautiful, Spawn is excellent, Jupiter's Circle is amazing as always, Mark Millar continues his hot streak of excellent books with Empress or whatever its called that came out, and more. I will go into more detail regarding actually good books very soon.

It seems that Marvel don't know their characters very well, since simply typing in "clairvoyancy" on Marvel Database shows plenty of characters that possess the same power as this generic Inhuman newcomer. I don't really like hating on something before it's even released, but the signs are most certainly not good at all. I think that both critically and commercially this entire event will flop, since Secret Wars 2015 just ended only a few weeks ago. These big crossover events no longer have the hook that they used to have. The novelty of seeing characters from the same comic universe meeting up and fighting is no longer interesting, because it is done so often. DC I think are being more modest by comparison, but from the looks of things, Marvel is going to pump out a new event as soon as the previous one ends. That is a terrible idea.
As much as I love crossovers, I realise that they should be a rare occurance.
Marvel technically have done a semi-reboot after Secret Wars, but yeah, a full reboot it is not. It's being marketed as a complete status quo change as different characters take up the classic superhero mantles, but I think it isn't going to last.

Picked up a bunch of Aspen comics on free comicbook day. Most of it is Fathom and Soulfire but so far I'm enjoying what I'm reading. Anyone else a fan of Aspen?

I believe I read one or two volumes of Fathom. A good read. I did not continue simply because there is so much competition and its hard to keep up with everything. By the way Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is awesome. What a damn good comic. I hope people continue to buy it so it has a nice long run.
Also I skipped Comic Book Day. The first time a Comic Book Day literally had nothing that required me to immediately buy it.

I'm sure you all have heard of the comic book mini series "Death Mate", right? The comic crossover between Image and Valiant characters that was rubbish and nearly destroyed the entire comic book industry because it's poor scheduling caused that many problems? Well, I've heard some interesting news. Apparently, a remake is in the works. Now, a lot has changed since the mid 90s for both Image and Valiant. Valiant's popularity has wavered back and forth, though they are steadily becoming one of the more mainstream comic companies once again as books like "Faith" have sold extremely well. I haven't really been keeping an eye on Image related news, though. Will these two companies be able to properly work together this time and be able to make their infamous crossover ideas actually good?
I've also been rereading Infestation Team-Up, the crossover tie-in focuses on Archibald from obscure IDW comic "Groom Lake" and Batboy from Weekly World News. The short comic is a surprisingly good if slightly on-the-nose satire and commentary on the comic book industry (as in, it's nowhere near as subtle as "The Multiversity" when it comes to talking about this topic). I was blown away by the number of cameos, some of which are extremely unexpected and not totally official, in this story. A lot of the characters who show up I don't really recognise at all, like the bartender, but then Super-Soldier and Ororo of Themyscira from Amalgam Comics and Uatu the Watcher show up. It's pretty rad. It makes me wonder why IDW don't make more of these.
Given that this comic isn't heavy on plot, and considering how obscure it is, I might as well tell you what happens so you have a bit of context.
Archibald is an alien contained within Area 51. He possesses a pet pink blob that can consume anything, and is constantly nagged by the woman whose care he is in because he's always caught smoking cigarettes. As the Great Old Ones of Lovecraftian mythology are unleashed upon the entire Omniverse, a massive tentacle appears from the sky and flings Archibald half way across America. Archibald wakes in a random city where he encounters Batboy, and the two go into a bar while the Elder Gods cause havoc in the town, with the bar in question being similar to the Inventory from Telltale Games' Poker Night series in that it's entirely populated with pre-existing characters. Both Archibald and Batboy reminisce about "iconic" moments in their pasts that clearly parody really iconic comic moments in that they insert themselves into the scenarios in place of the superheroes (e.g. Batman's back being broken, Gwen Stacy's death, the cover of Superman vs. Spider-Man).
