Also: Godzila in Hell is a weird comic and I really like it. I read most of the Godzilla comics nowadays and Godzilla in Hell is already one of my favorites. Is weird though.

I'm trying to get the rest of the Godzilla Half Century War series... That's a really good one too. Think they have it in trade now. If nothing else you can get it online.

The premise of Godzilla in Hell is just so appealing. Godzilla is literally just dropped in hell, and he fights demonic doppelgängers of himself to get out. How could possibly, nay, physically, go wrong with a premise like that?
All of the Godzilla comics from IDW take place in a common universe/continuity that mixes all of the shit from the various different Toho eras (Showa, Heisei and Millenium), but takes place in a separate universe from the movies. That's kind of strange for IDW... Usually they have their comic series take place in the same universe as the source material. That's their main appeal for me, at least, but nonetheless, the Godzilla comics look undeniably cool. I will make sure to properly check them out and read the crap out of them someday soon.

In the past few days, I've been binge-reading the first four volumes of Saga and the first five deluxe books of Fables...
Has anyone else read these?
Cuz they're AMAZING. >___> <3 <3 <3

So Grant Morrison has explained how the new/old/whatevernoonereallygivesadamn multiverse works as he introduced the sequel to The Multiversity, and I sort of anticipated how it works, but not precisely. Supposedly, there is another DC multiverse; presumably he was talking about the original 'infinite' multiverse that somehow survived the Crisis on Infinite Earths during Convergence. I think that the Pre-Crisis multiverse has always existed in tandem with the Post-Crisis one without anyone truly realising until the end of Convergence. But he also said that something about there being even more multiverses out there (I think he may be talking about the various non-DC multiverses in the Omniverse). Since Morrison knows what he's talking about and is generally really damn good at his job, I'll take his word as fact, at least until some clueless chimney sweeper-turned-writer undoes everything. I think that this whole thing is very good. I always preferred the near-infinite multiverse idea, allowing writers to do whatever they want instead of being bound by numerous restrictions, something that Morrison also acknowledges.
I think DC shrinking their multiverse was a terrible idea from the start, no matter how epic the original concept for CoIE was, as it just couldn't last, and they knew it. It can work with Marvel, since their comics don't really involve parallel worlds interacting with the 'main' world on a regular basis, unlike DC, and Marvel are also handling their massive multiverse-changing crossover differently, showing how a world where characters from different worlds can coexist in the crossover itself instead of afterwards (though the post-Secret Wars universe will hopefully not be quite as messed up as Battleworld).
On a very different note, I have been wondering recently whether a new Marvel/DC crossover is needed. People still beg for one all over the Internet, and sure, seeing a bunch of Marvel and DC characters together again would be cool and nice, but would there really be any more to do with the concept? They basically hit the nail on the head with JLA/Avengers, showing a brilliantly done and suitably epic crossover tale involving all of the most major Marvel and DC characters going up against all of their enemies together, of course being littered with little references and gags that make fans giddy, and commentaries on how different/similar the two universes are. How can any writers make another big scale crossover between the two universes without basically doing a retread of JLA/Avengers?

I can't stand half of what Marvel puts out and what they have done with a lot of there characters. I have no interest in a Marvel vs DC crossover. Also DC continues to do crossovers with independent companies and hire young writers. DC is always changing things up. I am perfectly fine at the moment.
As far as Battleworld. Good lord lets not get started out that...

But if you wanna talk Saga, I'm always looking for people to talk to.

I'm also loving the new alternate Batwoman design from Batman: Black & White. I know it's not that original, as the idea of a Bat-person having a creepy, hyper-realistic bat cowl has been done before, but hot Dayam... That is one radical character design if ever I've seen one.

Besides the big two comic companies. Spawn, Jupiter's Circle which I started reading, Star wars, and others. How is Rat Queens? I have been meaning to check it out but couldn't make my mind up on that.

Runaways is easily the best thing Marvel has done in the past whenever it was made.

I haven't read Fables though. And *I* haven't heard of Rat Queens OR Invincible either. XD But you should check it out! The Wolf Among Us video game was actually a spinoff prequel to the comic books and they're really easy to get into because all the characters are old folklore characters. Big Bad Wolf, Princesses, Boy Blue, Ms. Muffet, etc. But if you wanna talk Saga, I'm always looking for people to talk to. And YES! I'm only reading them as the volumes come out, so I'm now waiting on volume five. SSJRuss got me into them, actually. He told me it was like Star Wars, but with love, war, and sex... Annnnnd I was sold.

The Wolf Among Us video game was actually a spinoff prequel to the comic books and they're really easy to get into because all the characters are old folklore characters. Big Bad Wolf, Princesses, Boy Blue, Ms. Muffet, etc. You should both check out Rat Queens. I'd summarize it as 4 badass women on, basically a D&D campaign. By which I mean, there's all the same tropes; going on quests, fighting trolls, magic but the humor is the kind of stuff you'd say just BSing with your buddies in the basement. With only a little less sex than in saga. Invincible on the other hand is a superhero book that has a lot of commentary and satire around the superhero genre. It starts out as a fun little, almost slice of life, book about a teen superhero and as it progresses starts tackling more serious issues and story lines. Fables is one that's been on my radar, same with Jupiter's Circle, but I haven't made the time to read them. Spawn is one that I know a lot about, but haven't really read due to how much there is of it. And YES! I'm only reading them as the volumes come out, so I'm now waiting on volume five. SSJRuss got me into them, actually. He told me it was like Star Wars, but with love, war, and sex... Annnnnd I was sold. I found Saga when browsing the app store on my phone, they had the first issue free so I read it to kill time and I fell in love with the series. I've tried waiting for the trades so I have more to read, but I can't help myself when a new issue comes out. Still, it's on hiatus for now so they don't have anythingt past volume 5 yet, I think.

The universe of Fables intrigues me immensely. It's basically like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but less depressingly deconstructive... And without any government sponsored team ups... But the basic concept of thousands of public domain characters living together in the same world is vaguely similar.
I also love the idea that there are other Fabletowns across the world inhabited by folk characters of different cultures, and the fact that literary concepts (The Fourth Wall, the Deus Ex Machina) and genres (Western, Fantasy, Science Fiction) are all classed as characters too. Very creative series.
And I play Wolf Among Us. Great game. #Bigby4PokerNight3
