Inara frowns at Jacob, now her hands at her hips. Looking over to the first part of Gale's question, she motions for him to pay attention before finally responding to Jacob.
"I didn't catch your name, but teaching you some of what we know and learned to fight the Iga is exactly what we intend. Sending you all out blind would be a massacre. See what I did with Pikachu and replace my fuzzball with a pokemon you'd really not want to hav a free shot at your back. Not to deliberately kill the mood, but I'd be less impressed and a bit more scared" she sighs. Though to juxtapose the serious Inara, Pikachu is more than happy to lend out a hand, though in his was a branch full of berries that he found- he seemed to be fond of the flavor. Inara smirks at her pokemons antics, but then chooses to answer the next set of questions. Closing her eyes, she speaks
"A ninjas code has nothing to do with battle, their philosophy and technique has always been contrasted against more honor bound warriors who use traditional methods. That's why we come out on top" she says, almost as if she was reciting a book passage. She opens her eyes with a frown, "The Igas are believed to be descended from the best to have ever lived. Our code is about loyalty to allies and our own, every day for 15 years that was instilled in me, every action was for the clans best intention. I believed it too...thing is,the second ninja lesson is on deception. I never knew what their endgame was, even Hoenn was a shock to me. They probably assumed I'd see it their way some day...they might have been right too, but I found out when I did and in my eyes no greater good is worth this many lives gone in cold blood..." she says, turning away to wipe her eyes

Vincent watched contentedly as his pokemon were admired by the trainer Tommy. Perhaps he was a pokemon breeder? Charizard's clawed foot thumped the ground hard as he received his scratching. As Vincent listened closely to the proceedings, he became convinced of the depths the Iga clan was willing to go to see their goals accomplished, however twisted. Though Victoria half listened, she was more focused on her own goals, the immediate threat displaced.
"A battle?" She was as flattered as she was excited by the offer of a challenge with one so experienced. "I'll take that offer," she beamed. Selecting a pokeball without a second thought, "And for the record, my name is Victoria Archard." Confidence laced every word she spoke. "What kind of battle?"
When Gale addressed Inara, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "With all due respect Gale--that is your name, yes?--Inara leaving her clan seems quite obvious to me, as it should to any humanitarian. Look what they've done here today... It's a disgrace to life. As for why she summoned us, well... we all had a choice. Like I said, this is a call to arms for those who are defenseless. Now that you know why you're here, it's up to us to decide if this is a role we want to take. I know you're here for your story. Getting the message to the people is indeed important. The message I think the people should truly be getting, is not to give in, never to give up. The boot of the Iga clan is coming down. Will you be crushed like a bug--no offense, Caterpie--or will you show them something more?"
Suddenly, noticing the heat, Charizard growled low in his throat. Eyeing Arkanine, his tail began to flare hot, adding to the temperature increase.
"Charizard... settle down. Not everything is a contest my friend." Charizard ceased his growl and lowered his heat, though not exactly completely. 'Fire pokemon can be so hotheaded,' he thought to himself.

"I was thinking a three on three, divided into three one on one battles. What I mean is we'd both pick a Pokémon and battle until one feints then we both switch, and you get the idea best two out of three wins. It's been a long time since I've battled for fun," Satoshi said darkly, "I'm looking forward to this."

I mean who's not. I spend a year doing research on Satoshi, and it turns out he's ok, while I'm wasting time a whole ninja-clan is getting ready to go to war against an entire Region." Gale said, " Just goes to show how caught up the news is.." He added under his breath. Darn Jubilife TV, being late as always. He extended his hand to Vincent. "I'm sorry for blanking out earlier, no hard feelings? Also, it'd be wise not to spread the story now, we wouldn't want the other Regions getting involved, that's probably part of the master plan." Suddenly, noticing the heat, Charizard growled low in his throat. Eyeing Arkanine, his tail began to flare hot, adding to the temperature increase. "Charizard... settle down. 'Fire pokemon can be so hotheaded,' he thought to himself.Arcanine noticed the growl, and let off a satisfied growl. These two Pokemon were from the same Region, they probably meet in the wild sometimes. Arcanine would concentrate, and his already shiny red coat would sparkle even brighter in the sunlight. A trick Gale's sister showed him when he was a Growlithe. "Arcky shush." Gale said, patting him on the head.

Victoria paused in thought. Something about Satoshi's tone caused her to consider something before speaking again. 'Why divide the battles?' She had to wonder, but she let it be. Smiling, she nodded. "I did ask," she acknowledged. "Let's do this. I hope you live up to your daddy's name!" Her last comment was followed by a teasing wink.
Vincent clasped hands with Gale in a firm display of trust. "It's perfectly understandable that you want answers. Why, it's even in your nature as a reporter, I'd bet! These are dangerous times, and it can be hard to trust others. Motives are hard to decipher, intentions difficult to know... but if we can't trust anyone, we lose a piece of ourselves. I won't sacrifice myself in the name of fear."
Noticing Arcanine's coat glistening, Vincent let out an impressed whistle. "That's a handy trick. I hope you'll excuse my Charizard; he always wants to be the brightest fire type in the room. Good for contests, not so good for meeting new friends."

Now you're probably wondering why I divided the battles. It's in the interest of fair play. If we did it the standard way you'd have frest Pokemon fighting tired ones, people delberately picking type advantage etcetera."

As the flighty Gale spoke out to Vincent, she cuts in on the conversation with some snapping fingers to get their attention. "Umm, I- I hate to interrupt but uh...you heard all that right? What I just said was kind of important" she says awkwardly. She had put a lot emotion into it as well, she hoped she didn't have to repeat herself because it was a manner of life and death...and then she saw Satoshi beginning a pokemon battle and she facepalms at how this was going.

(OOC: Edit, just pretend I responded to Kevin and G4, I hate the new quote features. Gale stared into Vincent's eyes, finally, someone who knew the difficulties of being a news reporter! He could really get along with this guy. "Yeah, being a reporter is hard! Oh, and forgive Arcky, he's a 'show dog', my sister taught him how to do all that because she wanted to use him in those coordination things that she goes to. Arcky is not one for sho-" *Poke* *Poke* He knew Lucario was poking him, but he was in the middle of a manly conservation, Lucario would have to wait. *Poke* *Poke* *Strong Poke* Ugh, what now? Gale looked at Lucario, who beckoned at Inara who looked on the verge of tears. Oh crap cakes.. "Oh, my bad! Yeah I heard what you were saying about ninja honor and the second phase being deception. I-I'm sorry." Gale offered a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Now, guys, how about we settle down and come up with a plan? I must be getting late."

Vincent watched Inara facepalm and followed her gaze toward Satoshi and Victoria. They really were about to battle each other. A part of himself wanted to watch; to see if the son of Dawn had incorporated any of his mother's coordination oriented displays into his attacks. A larger part of him knew this was not quite the time and place for this. He knew Victoria knew it, since he knew it, even if she chose not to prioritize. "I heard you," the aspiring coordinator replied, though he only just seemed to notice her slightly red eyes from the passionate speech. Indeed, it was that speech that inspired him to defend her to a degree. "Victoria!" He called, his voice snapping her away from her battle vision.
She faced him suddenly, still clutching her pokeball. Her expression shifted in but a few moments from readiness and slight annoyance from being distracted, to grudging understanding. "But it's just a quick--"
"Tori... we're facing a ruthless enemy. I know you don't mind pushing your pokemon sis, but I don't know if this is wise. We need to be ready to face this enemy. At any time, under any circumstance."
Victoria knew he was right, of course. She turned back to Satoshi longingly. Shoulders sunken, she felt like she'd been scolded more by herself than her brother, considering she knew better. "He's right," she said softly. "Maybe some other time." Replacing her pokeball, she beckoned toward Flygon. The green scaled ground type landed beside her, trying her best not to kick up too much ground matter. Sighing, she resigned to paying attention to what people were saying, whilst leaning against her starter amicably.

Sighing, she resigned to paying attention to what people were saying, whilst leaning against her starter amicably. Satoshi nodded and turned away. He'd heard all of this before and he had bigger problems. Empoleon didn't look like he was in top shape right now. It was to be expected he was used to much colder climates, not the tropical hellhole that was Hoenn. He'd have to keep an eye on Umbreon and Luxray too with their fur. Still seeing his starter like this concerned him. "I know you hate the thing Empoleon but maybe you should get in your Pokéball for your own good." The stubborn look in his old friend's eyes told him all he need to know. Satoshi sighed. "Prideful as ever I see, fine but you stay hydrated and if decide you go back in the ball, you listen. That goes for all of you." He said to his collected Pokémon. They all voiced their agreement. Satoshi didn't like having his Pokémon in Pokéballs. He'd only ever put them in when they were registering for something, being checked over by Nurse Joy or traveling to another region due to restrictions on plains and boats. They'd always been by his side literally. Umbreon he even hatched from an egg. Now thanks to this hellish climate that might change. "Hoenn is too damn hot, how do people live here?" Satoshi muttered He really missed the more temperate Sinnoh climate, even if it was on the cold side compared to other regions. He laid out and filled water and food dishes for his Pokémon and checked them over for injuries from the recent battle as they ate, the Pokémon food was homemade, a recipe his parents got from Brock. He found a few scratches that he treated with potion but nothing major. Still they concerned from about their health didn't leave his face.

"Flygon loves temperature, and I don't mind the heat myself. Although, Hoenn is my home, and Flygon is the spirit of the desert. At least your Empoleon isn't an ice type; Abomasnow doesn't do too well with heat. I guess it helps when you can whip up personal blizzards." Victoria paused, watching Satoshi care for his pokemon. The twins could tell he had a knack for it.
She took out an empty pokeball and studied it for a moment. Since she met this Ketchum kid, not a single member of his team 'returned'. It had never occurred to her, that they might not like it. To her, it always appeared the pokemon were simply happy to rest after the average day of training. She wondered what it was like in there. And if it was humane.

Inara gives off a big sigh, the battle was postponed for now. Things actually got a bit too quet, she decides to take a seat near Satoshi. She gives him a small smile before abruptly turning away to mind her own business. After taking a breather and wiping some soot off her face, she acknowledges Gale.
"Yeah we'll get to planning after some food, unless any of you have more questions. If Satoshi thinks it's safe enough to take a food break then we're good here" she says, before taking out a satchel that contained more of their poke food stash and some bowls to go with it. If they rationed it alright, she could share with anyone who didn't have their own as a token of friendship. She didn't worry about Pikachu since she found a good score of food, merely wondering on how nice it should have been that she was back home after so long...things don't always pan out though she had learned. On top of everything, despite the skirt she still felt overdressed somehow due to remember Hoenn having more of a breeze. Though that went to show how fitting her 'ninja gear' was as she looked over her pokeballs, wondering who to let our first.

Tommy finally dried up and brought Caterpie back out to continue feeding him. "It's okay now Caterpie, eat up. We're gonna need your strength."
"So what now guys? I know we all need a break but how can we be sure the ninjas won't return? I mean let's face it, this isn't the best place for us if we are planning on fighting them. We're out in the open in a burnt up ghost-town. Not exactly incognito."

Our opponents' mission was completed and by the time they report we're here we'll be gone." Satoshi was distracted by the sound of his whimpering Umbreon, "You're burning up, go sit in the shade buddy." Umbreon parked himself under the nearest trees and Satoshi brought him more water. "It'll be okay buddy, I'll take care of you. I'll get you home as fast as I can." Satoshi rubbed Umbreon's head affectionatel as he cursed Hoenn again.

Once again Kodi kept pretty much to himself when everyone was talking. His teddiursa ran to him upset and he picks her up in his arms hugging her gentle. "Teddy its okay..." he said patting her on the back, "Teddy is a girl Pokémon Inara..." he says quietly. He thought it was odd people was asking why Inara would turn on her clan they killed people. He would turn on his mom if she killed people even though he loves her. He thought it was kinda rude after hearing about the Hazel girl's dad.
"Hmm Hazel..." he said looking at her in the eye which was hard. Because for as long as he could remember it was hard for him to talk to people. But he has to get over it he wants to protect this girl after people basically ignoring her pain. "I'm sorry to hear about your dad... I know we don't know each other but if you ever need someone to talk to me and Teddy are always here. I know that won't really help nothing will but you're not alone... And I promise we will take down those evil ninjas..." his gaze then falls to the ground. He was unsure how she would react, he never knew what people would do, they're not easy like Pokémon.
