Okay, let's flesh out the world that our new creations are going to live in. What kind of world will it be? It will have to be able to encompass a bajillion different character ideas, so that means everything from dinosaur warriors to cowboy ninjas. Will it be a collection of planets, a collection of islands, a nexus of the Universe or just Earth with a lot of weird shitake happening?
now's your chance to give your input. Let's create a universe!

I was thinking that what we write should be about one of two things- The world getting acquainted with the bizarre for the first time (Superheroes, demons, magic, crazy underground stuff coming to light in modern times and becoming part of the common world.)
Or, a world that developed with superbeings/demons/magic. The modern day blends technology for the non-gifted with powers/magic for the gifted.
Personally I favor the first, but I can see both being cool.

If possible I would like Reach City to be able to fold into the continuity. Reach City RP
Reach City Stories
Its a Khazan like city with superhumans and some factions already set up. People are generally used to the idea that superhumans/aliens/magic exists already, so if you want that, or don't want that its something to consider. At the very least I'd like to hang on to my characters. As for Bergy's suggestion, either option sounds allright. I could have fun with a world that's in transition about all this stuff rather then being blaze about it.

How about this.
The Gods are bored so they set up a sort of ever lasting tournament. Being loving Gods, however, they allow all the planets to live together in unity. Giant teleportation structures allow you to go from one planet to the other in seconds.

I was thinking of a world where the supernatural and advanced science are normal things but it is now just getting in contact with other worlds.

Let's create a universe! Hmm, I don't know my vote is kind of for a Nexus of Universe type deal. Kind of like a cross between your WWC series and League of Legends. A few worlds with their own background lore can interact at key points or have learned to live near each other when conflict or advancements occur. We can have guys do background for each part and when they start to, ahem, collide then things really get interesting as we all co-exist deo: If we do a multiversal type story, I wouldn't mind setting up a more advanced version of Reach to be one of the worlds/islands, the info on the RP planning board's soemwhat limited on purpose(because it's a discovery RP) but I do have a good deal of lore(that I'll remember to pm reply later) but I don't want to make myself too important off the bat heh.

Maybe we could do a multidimensional thing. Several Realms of existence that are interlinked and have been already been established as their own worlds. So we could have one that is purely magic based and one that is purely technology and have a system in place where people could travel to either of them. Sort of like how the realms are set up in Thor. It could give more creative freedom while also not making it feel like "how the hell can all these heroes live on the same planet?"
If nothing else, having it be set on a bunch of different planets wouldn't be bad either.

It could be a way to make everyone feel very unique too and not be overshadowed by someone else.

Where I can see how a bunch of realities/dimensions could be interesting, I've always had a strong bias against a universe where hopping from one dimension to another is an easy to abuse talent.

I wouldn't necessarily say it'd be a talent. More like something that's become a norm in society. Like how you can get on a bus to New York, only now you can take a shuttle or something to the next realm over or the adjacent realm from yours.

I worded that really poorly, but I don't like exactly what you just described.

Well if we're starting from scratch, let's start from scratch. I'm not familiar with Reach City and rather not have to read up on it.
I can't say I'm in love with the idea of people hoping from realm to realm either. It's just feels tacky to me.
I like the idea of a certain realm being introduced into a normal realm. I feel like that could be a fun world to start off in at least. A clashing of worlds sort of thing. It would be similar to Khazan and we can build a "Reach City" type place.

You wouldn't have to read up on it, it would just be one place out there that exists. That's the beauty of it.
Granted, I probably wouldn't make the form of moving between worlds a bus, but would it feel less tacky if there was some other means of moving between areas?

We could try meet in the middle. There could be a focal world were most of the stories converge/take place. This world could be new to the whole multiversal/nexus aspect of reality forcing them adapt in some way.
Another idea is a world where the existence of other realms/dimensions/universes is a fact known by society but the concept of traveling to them is a known by a minority of society and the ability to travel to them is possessed by even fewer
