Ok don't mean to be negative but after this last trailer. Bay's Ninja Turtles movie looks like shit. I just rewatched the original Ninja Turtles film for like the 100th time and it was great.

Really? I actually liked the new trailer. It seems like it'd be an entertaining movie. Other than Shredder Bot being super lame and the Foot just being terrorists instead of ninjas, I think it looked pretty good. They got the characters right, Donnie is always decked out, Raphael is super pissed they took his brothers, Leo is the leader, and Mikey cracks the one liners. I like the upgraded technology too. Jet-powered skateboards ftw.

Transformers was crazy. Can't believe a movie with so many explosions and giant robots can be disappointing. Guess it's to be expected from a Michael bay movie, but man, the trailers had robot dinosaurs! Robot dinosaurs!!
I don't know what the running time is but it feels like 4 or 5 hours. The plot is nonexistent. Stuff blows up though. There's a hot blonde chick in it.

Michael Bay's Transformers visually and in design looks horrible period. I can't stand them visually. Anybody that defends that needs to look at what Del Toro accomplished with Pacific Rim. Explosions and a lot of action don't always make a good movie.

I was at Mall of America when the "kids" of Mark Walhberg were in attempting to promote the movie. I stood below in the Lego Store and just listened to the intro of the actors.
"Come on you guys can cheer louder than that"
*silence from the crowd*
"You guys are so Minnesotan"
That was an insult to all of us here in Minnesota. No one knew who those people were, and that was part 1 of my decision to not see this God awful movie, the NC's review is part 2, and part 3 is Bay's dickish remarks.
No Bay, I will keep my dignity. I won't see this movie, I will not see TMNT, and if you try to come here again to promote, I will personally walk up and ask you directly to your smug face why you feel like killing all 80's and 90's nostalgia.
Oh, and the pony joke was pathetic. Someone posted it to youtube. It's just sad.

As a fan of vampires, and monster movies in general, I'm psyched for Dracula Untold.   After the ungodly abomination that was the Twilight Saga ended, I waited and hoped for vampire films to return to form. Dracula isn't a bad place to start. Mixing the historical Vlad III and Bram Stoker's famous monster is something I've wanted to see more often after watching Francis Ford Coppola's take on the myth. This new movie looks like it's got great atmosphere, a charismatic lead (Luke Evans is awesome), great action, and of course Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister). And it's coming out in October, the month of Halloween. I'll be there. |
