I've been thinking about going to see TMNT 2. The first Bay film was something of a guilty pleasure because even though it had flaws, I still thought it was a fun action film with plenty of memorable moments. I was a bit worried that the Turtles' more silly and bizarrely designed opponents like Bebop and Rocksteady wouldn't fit in and be jarring to see in full CGI, so was that a problem?

I'd imagine that if you think Bebop and Rocksteady look odd you'd also think the Turtles look odd. So if you are fine with the Turtles, you are fine with all of the CGI.

I saw Tarzan yesterday with my family and a few neighbors, I quite enjoyed it except for some minor things. Some of the CGI effects were pretty bad in some scenes - one in particular must have been a rush job. Some of the fight editing is pretty lame, since it overrelied on sudden cuts and slow-motion. Similarly, some of the action cuts were edited in odd ways that didn't really convey what was occuring.

I saw the Ultimate Edition Dawn of Justice and that was the version that should have been in Theaters to tell the story much better to the audience. Whoever decided to cut out those 30 minutes is a complete fucking idiot. I hoped they learned from there mistake.
I honestly have no other movie in Theater I wanted to see until Suicide Squad. I could be wrong and missing one or two movies but for now that's the only one. I will wait on TMNT 2.

Apparently a film adaptation of the comic book "Irredeemable" has been an announced. I genuinely liked Irredeemable. For those unaware of the series, it's about a Superman-like superhero named the Plutonian who, after years of struggling to fit in with humans because of the drawbacks of his amazing powers (for example, the Plutonian could never have sex or any intimate contact with normal people because his body hairs were sharp enough to cleave through flesh) and because of the immense pressure the public put on him, goes insane and rampages across the world while the superhero team he was once a part of, the Paradigm, tries to stop him. The comic served as a very mature and depressing alternative take on the DC universe. A film adaptation should be great.

I will hold my breath and wait. A lot of the great comic series outside of Marvel and DC are going to tv for a reason. Dredd, Scott Pilgrim, Kick-Ass films, and other outside the norm superhero genre flicks did not do okay at the box office. There are a few exceptions that were great and made good money like Wanted. Marvel has not helped either and in my opinion is doing more bad then good with what a superhero typed film should be in the general audience's eyes. Powers, Preacher, Ash, and Walking Dead were probably done on tv because it was probably better story wise to tell among other reasons.
Comic Con this weekend I believe. I hope some brand new trailers drop. I want to see that Power Rangers trailer to see how the new suits really look like.

But Dredd, Scott Pilgrim, and at least the first Kick-Ass movie were all great movies and the first two were critical darlings.

Oh trust me Surfer I agree and they were awesome. But they did terrible at the box office. I am glad Hollywood still wants to do films in the superhero genre outside of Marvel and DC. By the way the new Star Trek is getting great reviews. I am going to have to check it out.

Kick-Ass grossed nearly 100 million worldwide which doesn't hold a candle to other superhero flicks but when compared to its 30 million production, is hardly terrible.
Kick-Ass 2 did less than that but still managed to gross 60 million against a 28 million dollar production cost.
Scott Pilgrim and Dredd are the only two you mentioned that made less than their production costs.

Both of those trailers look damn awesome. I had such a goofy smirk on while watching both of them.
The fact that Wonder Woman takes place during the war is refreshing, and I think it'll be better than the first Captain America. I simply hope that this film will be a true throw back to the hero's roots; no giant mech suits with flamethrowers, I mainly mean. It's still somewhat mindblowing that this is the first live action Wonder Woman film to be shown in cinemas, while freaking Steel got a movie before she did (not that Steel the character is a bad, but as we all know, the film was, plus he was way more obscure).
I'm liking Justice League's more comedic tone. I love how Bruce's recruitment of Barry is basically a complete subversion/parody of Nick Fury's recruitment of Steve in the Avengers. I think they're taking the criticisms of Dawn of Justice to heart. After witnessing the Sad Ben Affleck meme, it occurred to me that the cast were really hoping that they were making a good film, and they have a chance to redeem themselves with Justice League.
But then there's the real star of the DC show: The Lego Batman Movie. Jesus Christ, I haven't laughed at a trailer like that in a long time. Probably since the last Lego Batman Movie trailer, actually. XD One thing though... Which Robin is that meant to be? Apparently it's meant to be Dick Grayson, but it looks more like Carrie Kelley. I know Alfred said "son", but maybe they're making a composite?

Oh yeah, and how could I forget? Kong: Skull Island! I literally watched this trailer with my jaw on the floor, I was so blown away by it.
First of all, there's the all star cast. Sam L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston? That's sure to bring in some people who otherwise wouldn't be interested.
Then there's Kong himself. Jesus Christ, dude. When I saw the massive handprint on the side of the mountain, I couldn't believe my eyes. While I expected him to be bigger than other incarnations of the character, I never expected him to be THAT massive! He's friggin' enormous in this one! It makes perfect sense though, since he has to be able to give Godzilla a decent match in their upcoming crossover film. Kong's upright posture and brownish fur draw the Toho version of Kong to mind. It's certainly looking to be very different from every other Kong film that came before it.
If you can't tell, I'm super excited for this film. I've loved all the King Kong films I've seen, except the '70s one. Cause that one was shit.

The Doctor Strange trailer was great. It looks crazy as hell. Why are people referencing Inception I do not know. Inception was not the first to come up with its idea. The JLA trailer was a lot of fun. Aquaman looked like a certified badass.
Eh The Kong trailer was okay. But do we really need a another Kong film? Kong looks bigger then before though for sure and this Kong doesn't fuck around based on the trailer. That's for sure.

Wonder Woman looked okay, JL looked dumb as shit, Kong looked like a generic action, monster movie, and I didn't watch the LEGO trailer because I'll see it anyway. Whoever said that Wonder Woman might be better than the first Captain America, you better check yourself before I ban you for spouting heretical bullshit.
