Anyways, I haven't had a chance to see Episode VII, but I will sometime this week.
1. Revenge of the Sith (Pros: Amazing fight sequences, music equal to A New Hope's, awesome introduction, R2-D2 kicking Super Battle Droid ass, great atmosphere - Cons: Still some wonky dialogue, but it's more ignorable here, Greivous is a bit too wimpy) 2. Return of the Jedi (Pros: Ewoks are adorable, Emperor Palpatine gets a proper introduction, the speeder bike chase scene, raps up the story effectively - Cons: The musical segments in Jabba's Palace are shit) 3. A New Hope (Pros: Great character introductions, great tension, some of the best music in cinema history - Cons: Some wonky dialogue) 4. Empire Strikes Back (Pros: Yoda's introduction, Hoth, Lando's introduction, Duel on Bespin - Cons: The pacing is a little too slow) 5. Attack of the Clones (Pros: Yoda kickin' ass, the battle on Geonosis, Jango and the clones' introduction on Kamino, seeing the rest of the Jedi get in on the action - Cons: Even worse dialogue than the previous film that makes some scenes painful to watch, obvious attempts to emulate scenes from the original trilogy, Anakin's sociopathy being ignored by Padme) 1. Phantom Menace (Pros: Darth Maul, Boss Nass, the incredible music - Cons: Bloody awful dialogue, boring Tatooine scenes, Jar Jar)

Also, SSJRuss can get banned for having VI be his least favorite. Terranova, I'll make a Pro/Cons list for you. Episode 2 Pros: Clones were introduced. Ewan McGregor had some dope flow. Mace Windu and Jango Fett were leet. Cons: LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE. EVERYTHING. LITERALLY. Episode 1 Pros: Obi-Wan Kenobi becomes a character other than Old Ben Kenobi. Natalie Portman is #hot. Darth Maul does flippy stuff. Cons: AGAIN, LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE. I HAVE SEEN BETTER ACTING IN MY HIGH SCHOOL SPANISH CLASS THAN JAKE LLOYD, WHO IS STILL BETTER THAN HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN. Have you seen VI recently? Tell me how much you love the Ewoks... And I will say that Obi-Wan is the best thing about the Prequels but don't be so harsh. #StillABetterLoveStoryThanCreepySiblings You act like I don't watch the OT at least once every year. Still love the Ewoks. And the Battle of Endor. And Luke being a leet.

Terranova, I'll make a Pro/Cons list for you. You have opinions. Surprise, surprise. But, believe it or not, not everyone shares your raving elitism. No, objectivity states that Episode I and II are bad movies. The dialogue is horrendous, Hayden Christensen can't act to save his life, and Jar Jar Binks was a shit-stain upon the universe. The love scene on Naboo between Anakin and Padme in Ep. II? I've written a better love story for my college Poetry class. Hell, I think everyone did. The dialogue is SO bad.

Episode I and II are objectively terrible movies, which is a shame because Episode II introduces, what I think, is the coolest part of the Star Wars Universe. The Clone Wars is so dang cool. Both cartoons are awesome. The movie is absolutely terrible. Just total crap.

While Return of the Jedi has the lame Ewok children's toy cash-in, it does have the single best scenes in all of Star Wars.
Luke, Vader and the Emperor atop the Death Star II and their duel with words far surpasses any other conflict in the movies.

Return is by no means a bad movie, it just wasn't as good a conclusion to the trilogy as it really should have been. Emperor's death was a bit weird, the Ewoks were just too non-threatening looking for them to have bested the Stormtroopers, and Boba Fett dying in such a dumb way. I didn't really like the fact they built another Death Star so fast after the first one, but thats just me nitpicking.

George Lucas and co intended for the Ewoks to look and seem entirely non-threatening so that the Empire (and the audience) would completely underestimate them. He wanted the Empire to be defeated by a primitive race. I think I heard somewhere that he originally considered having the final battle take place on Kashyyyk and have the Stormtroopers fight the Wookiees, which would have been badass and made a bit more sense considering that Kashyyyk's only onscreen appearance prior to Episode III was in that god awful Christmas special, but the Ewoks are just too gosh dang cute.

Also, the Watchmen film adaptation is really good.

Episode I- Qui Gon and Obi Wan were the only good things about the film. Everything else was complete shit. Darth Maul was not in it enough and should not have even been killed. Great lightsaber battle though. The pod racing and everything with Naboo were a waste of fucking time. Two shits could not have been given. Making Anakin that young was a huge mistake and his affection for Padme that started was meh. I would have rather both insight to Sidious, Maul, Anakin, and Obi Wan.
Episode Two- Hayden's acting was fucking terrible and the love story is one of the worst I have ever seen. The story telling of Hayden's mother dying affecting him as a Jedi and causing his path to go down the dark path was told horribly. Then again Hayden's acting was so terrible he could have screwed up the scenes. However seeing Anakin lose his temper and starting killing was fun to watch. It showed us the start of Vader's anger and more in those short scenes. Jango Fett was awesome and his battle with Obi Wan is one of the best. Seeing the Clone Wars was great, Mace was awesome, and the Yoda fight scene was amazing. The clone army origin was meh since you had no clue who the Jedi was who had them created and honestly the Jedi just immediately trusting the Clones was a stupid ass move they probably ended up regretting in there final moments in Episode 3. What makes the Jedi look even more stupid and is they knew Jango Fango was the template for the Clones and still not suspension was raised. Once again not once did the Jedi question well what happened to the Jedi who ordered the Clones created? There were many problems with the story. Once I love how Dooku gets dropped in out of nowhere. Oh look we have a Jedi turned Sith and no backstory or even mention of where the fuck he came from. No insight what so ever.
Episode 3. The best out of all the prequels because finally it focused on Anakin. The Jedi looked stupid since of course since none of them as powerful as they are could sense the change in emotions of Anakin. There were so many signs including him being friends with the Chancelor and more. They did not do a damn thing about Anakin and a lot of things they should have caught on to. Anakin's love for Padme (Which was so obvious), worried about her death after her mother dying, and more. None of that could be detected or sensed. Also they seemed to take forever in the film to go oh man we really need to start looking for the Sith and all of that before its too late. Do you know how stupid it is after having two films with Sith (Maul and Dooku) that's when we see the Jedi actually go man we need to find out about this Sith. Eeh... The film's opening was great with them catching Dooku and finally putting him down. Anakin's fall was done well, I do love the reason Padme dies, and the fight scenes were done very well. More insight should have been shown on a lot of things but overall good film.
Keep in mind when watching these films for the first time there was no Clone Wars show or anything like that to fill in the gaping holes in story telling.
By the way I first saw New Hope with my older cousin on cable when they first started showing it on tv and it was amazing. I saw the prequels in Theaters but seeing New Hope for the first time was still better. Watching the prequels was fun at first in the Theater. However even then I still had all these questions and more like everyone else in the theater when I first watched it.

People complain about how every mainstream movie nowadays are just copies of each other. Well yeah, no shit, that's what people want to watch. Episode VII was ok, although I probably just could have stayed in, rewatched Episode IV, and have gotten the same experience. The shameless nostalgia baiting kind of got on my nerves too.

Move the Star Wars talk to the other thread. Let the non-cool people keep mingling here. Someone wants to come drive me 35 miles to the nearest theater showing it, I'll pay for my ticket. I'm fine waiting until the DVD comes out. My list would be: 1. IV 2. V 3. VI 4. III 5. II 6. I ?. VII

Here's my review of the animated DC film, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.
It's not very good.
The whole film is quite underwhelming. In fact, very much so. Superman and Batman always have a unique dynamic and generally it's very interesting to see the two interact. I mean, they're two of the world's most recognisable and popular superheroes, after all. Yet Superman almost entirely steals the show, with Batman's role seeming inconsequential at best for almost the entire film. The two superheroes basically take on nearly every superhero and villain worth their salary in some kind of mad gauntlet, with the hero v. hero fights seeming particularly forced. It's cool to see the finest duo take on so many opponents, but the fact that so many opponents show up makes them seem less threatening. Would the likes of Mongul get taken down so effortlessly in any other story? They certainly shouldn't. But in this one he's taken down like any old jobber schmuck, and spends the entirety of his screen time possessed by Grodd.
One of the big 'twists' of the film is that Major Force killed Metallo. It's really easy for anyone with half a brain to work out, since we see Major Force's silhouette at the graveyard Metallo was in just before Superman and Batman start talking about Metallo's demise. Plus, Major Force is clearly unhinged.
Lex Luthor is a complete creep in this episode as well as a genocidal maniac, which I think goes to much against his usual characterisation. Why did he forcefully kiss Amanda Waller? It was goddamn gross.
What are the good points? Well, the animation is good and most of the characters look just like their iconic comic counterparts. The stakes are high, what with a massive kryptonite meteorite heading towards Earth. However, I wasn't convinced for a millisecond that they would ever kill off Batman. The sheer number of DC character appearances and cameos is staggering, and while a lot of them are really inconsequential, it's really cool to see them nevertheless. Also, that bit where Toyman almost brings up Power Girl's... Well-endowed-ness before being shut up by Bruce was a funny, great moment.
Despite the positive notes and the aptly comic-booky story, this was an underwhelming film. I wasn't expecting fine art, but this isn't the kind of film that you'd remember well, and that's the important thing.
