We all change when you think about it. We’re all different people, all through our lives, and that’s okay. That’s good. You gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear.

Oh no, I noticed back when I joined. I'm just now mentioning it, because I've seen what he can do with it. Watch me get a silly ass poster title, in the near future.

Hey, just a quick reply to those who say that I haven´t participated in any real matches, take it as a compliment, I can and have been a real douchebag sometimes, hey I even earned myself a warning level of 10% when things turned out wrong on that picture thread,so I´m just taking sometime before posting seriously, but hey I´ll be back and I´ll be better then last time, and hopefully be taken seriously.

Or have my sig screwed with, for a month? Oh, well. I was wrong. Let's face it, you guys. This isn't going as well, as any of us probably hoped. We only have 94 registered members. And out of those 94, less than 20 log in, every day.. We can just keep going on like this, with Z, DSkillz, and Venom, adding to the database(no offense; keep up the good work, for those who are going to make matches. But I don't think any amount you add, is going to make things pick up.), or we can try and do something about it. I'm willing to sacrifice myself, for the good of the group. I will go onto other comic book websites, post links to this site and the old EF, to show what once was, and what could be. If I get banned, from these sites, it won't matter. More than likely, I wouldn't have joined any of them, anyways. I just need to know where to go, and what to say. :/ We need to act fast, since there's no telling how long the old EF will remain, as it once was. If it goes, our chances of getting people to join, will probably be slimmer. We'll just be some random internet group, holding onto the memory of an old site, that may or may not have ever existed. So, do we be like Sony, with their current handheld? Overpricing memory, barely giving it any support or advertising, and being content with mediocrity? Or do we be like Nintendo? Making cheaper memory an option, pumping out games the masses want, and making it sell, despite the "threat from tablet/phones"(really Sony..)? I own a Vita, and don't own a 3DS, but I can still see why the former's selling like a turd. Let's let the internet know the Vita err.. I mean, CBUB still exists! WHO'S WITH ME?!!

After some thought, I'm personally thinking some of us have gotten a bit too worked up about this. I've been guilty of this, too. There's a couple of things we have to keep in mind here. First off, we all probably thought that starting a new forum/website would be easier than it has been. Starting a new online community (even with familiar members) is never easy, and often takes years of commitment and good planning to get off the ground. I'm guessing this is why Haven of Wiidom eventually failed after Tarvius created it. Secondly, I wouldn't worry too much about forum participation, at least for now. Almost every one of this forum's current accounts were regulars of the original EF, so much of EF's original audience has found this place. In my almost three years at the original EF, I never saw more than thirty to forty members log in at once there, and only twenty or so logged in at a time on a regular basis. Also, of the thousands of registered accounts EF had, I can safely say a good chunk of those (a minority, but a fairly significant one) were alts/etc. of other accounts. And finally, somewhat coming from the previous point, EF never really exactly had the type of format that would bring in a lot of regular users. Unlike Naruto Forums, Comic Vine, Herochat, or what have you, EF asked more of its users than just discussing match ups. We also encouraged users to make good write-ups for our favorite characters in pop culture, and, in the case of the FPL, create and write fanfiction for original characters. The casual lurker just isn't really going to want to do more than discuss who would beat who. Also, as far as I can tell, serge never quite really had the resources of those other sites to help attract more members I'm willing to sacrifice myself, for the good of the group. Heh, good thought, Rob, but for potential people coming in to want to stay, we'll have to come up with a lot of good ideas for this forum to encourage them to stick around. And, unfortunately, I have a pretty good idea how much longer the old EF will stay up. Unless a miracle happens, we likely won't have that much longer to even use it as a selling point. I'll make a topic about it later. So, in short, we just really have to come up with good plans and structure (and a permanent name!) for this forum, and be patient.

I'm just suggesting some advertising. It really shouldn't be that hard.. The system is a bit stripped down, but it's pretty much what it was. We just need people participating. Where much more than half of those regulars have gone, is beyond me.. Yes, but that was at a time. There's usually only a few people online, here. Not to mention, after one of the mod's cleared out all the bot accounts, I was pretty sure we still had a few hundred registered members. So there's still a lot of people, that may not know this site was made(or just didn't care..). I don't really know how many new members we'd get, if any. But just getting the word out there, might have some effect. You might get old members returning, if they happen to see it, as well. Although, I'm not a member of any other comic-book related forum, so who knows.. Unless you search for "electricferret," though, you're not going to probably find this site. Most would just type "electricferret.com," into their browser, see the site's been closed, and move on. Not go to the forums, and search the old topics, to see if a new one was possibly made. Not sure what could be added, to attract people.. The concept of writing a good story, with your "who beats who" idea, seemed to be more than enough, on the old CBUB. I had a feeling, it wouldn't be around all that much longer.. All the more reason, to strike now, while we still can! Changing the name, will only make it that much more obscure, though..

I wish Serge would come back, and put the old site back online. Meh... the man's 80 something, so thus that will never happen. Still I believe Serge above all could provide us with some form of advice... if we asked him nicely, which might be beneficial to us.

Really wish you'd delete the kibble out of the quotes you're responding to, Z. Problem is, it's hard to get pey on here, much less anyone else, which makes it even more difficult to get things done. No offense to pey, or anyone else. Though pey does need to show here more, I can't really put a lot on him. He started out making threads asking for suggestions about the direction this site should go, but aside from the "New Name" thread, not a lot of feedback was received. Truth be told, this was also an issue on EF (if to less of a degree), even when serge asked for suggestions. If we want to make this work, we need a real collaborative effort, and that includes as much feedback as possible. I wish Serge would come back, and put the old site back online. Meh... the man's 80 something, so thus that will never happen. Still I believe Serge above all could provide us with some form of advice... if we asked him nicely, which might be beneficial to us. Serge is not in his 80's, lol. If he were that old, he wouldn't have been doing web design in the 1990's and beyond. I'm pretty sure this is a pic of him here: www.electricferret.com/callisto/times.htmI imagine this is sometime in the '90's. If that's the case, serge looks like he's in his early 20's in the pic, and therefore would be middle-aged now. As for contacting serge, I guess we can try EF's e-mail, but we can't be certain that function from the site's open.
