Seriously it does. I thought that the Electric Ferret was going to rise up from its ashes and blossom into something even beter than before but sincerly, it sucks. BUT this is far from over, there are still quite a few loyal followers of the CBUB, but they are wasting theyre time filling up the database. You know what you really gotta do? GET MORE FOLLOWERS. Now exactly how to do that is the real question, but im no genius, ill leave the thinking to you guys. Well I think my rant is over now..........

To be frank, if more people put up matches or even the very simple rumbles and commented, the site would be quite exciting. Then we'd be able to tell people about this geat debate we had on this new forum site and people would come and look...

^ Pretty much this. If more folks started contributing, some new guys might look in and be more inclined to sign up.
And Dark Prince does have a point. I'm not really sure why people aren't using this new site that we've all signed up for. Many of the regulars from the original CBUB have registered here, and we now have an ever-expanding database of some of the most popular characters. Not sure if people are still heartbroken about the old site shutting down (after close to five months!), aren't sure about the current way of matchmaking, or are just procrastinating as as CBUB'ers are wont to do, but if members seriously want to try to uphold EF's legacy and not sign up just to "hang around", they need to jump in any way they can.

I agree. If we could perhaps send out messages to various past users who haven't signed on to the new site maybe we could speed things up a bit.
Or is users simply got more involved. Now that my college semester's FINALLY over I can finally start making matches again.

and not sign up just to "hang around" Don't be hatin'. But seriously, the Fan Discussion section, was really all I was taking part in on the old EF. I've all but given up the writing thing, sorry. ): Unfortunately, even that area of this EF isn't very active.. And a lot of those members haven't been on, since on or around the time they joined, so who knows how many of those are actually still checking in. supes: Not that that's a bad idea, but how? Pretty sure the Facebook members are mostly all here. Besides that, the only other way to get in touch with someone, would be bumping into them, in the Chat room. I'd imagine most of the members, that frequent that, though, are probably already here, too.

Now exactly how to do that is the real question, but im no genius, ill leave the thinking to you guys. Well I think my rant is over now.......... Yeah, I understand that the site isn't really any good, but this really wasn't helpful. Like at all. If you do want it to be better, there are a few ways you can help: 1. Write matches/ Post rumbles: Doing this is the entire purpose of the site. This will not only help continue that, but it will also foster much needed debate and discussion amongst the few people who do frequent the site. Speak of... 2. Participate in discussions/debates: Looking through your (Dark Prince's) recent activity, you haven't actually participated in anything other than the Off-Topics board since September. While that's all well and good, if we want to get more followers, we need more than that. They can do that on other forums and probably do. What is unique about this, or the old CBUB at least, is the ability to create fights and debate the outcomes. But this isn't being done enough, so there's no draw for people to come to the site. 3. Share the site: Tell people you know about it, and tell them to tell people they know, but only after there's a reason to come here, and only if they're going to contribute to that end. I'm not saying don't invite people who aren't going to write matches or post rumbles, but I feel like that is, was, and always will be the purpose of the site. If we can't get people doing that more, then I guess there's a good reason why no one's joining the new site, isn't there? Overall, you can help make the site better, but I don't think that it's something that can just happen overnight with no provocation. It is entirely a matter of the community regaining interest in simply debating whether or not Superman could take on Goku. That's the whole reason most of us are here, or were here in the past, and if we can't get more people interested in that, and talking about it, then it makes sense that no one would want to come here, because it's essentially a worse version of any social network, but with complete strangers you have no reason to get to know.

Maybe we need to just spread the word around. Is their another site other CBUB members have gone to that we don't know about? Or have they moved on? I try to comment on matches and threads when I can. I will start trying to get more matches up.

I kind of stopped caring, to be honest. Most of my good friends from the old site hang out on Mibbit and the community is the reason I came to this site in the first place. Sorry to sound apathetic but figured I'd explain my general lack of activity.
Best of luck though.

I concur with AvPSorry bros but soon as the old site died and the community scattered, I doubted its revival. Best of luck however.

Well, what I've noticed is that on this new site there has been more consistent activity in the discussion sections, chatting about movies and games, sharing ideas with each other than there has been with match creation.
As for me, I'm content to take part in any activity, match creation or no. I'm glad there's as much going on as there is to be honest.

electricferret was just about the last site that actively had (occasionally off-beat) match-ups and scenarios about who could beat who amongst everyone's favorite characters in pop culture, encouraged users to make witty comments debating them, and, later on, encouraged the users to come up with creative scenarios themselves. At its best, the match-ups and comments were a lot of fun to participate in.
Are so many of you really so ready to just give up on that now? Considering that many of you were part of EF for years, I find that very hard to believe. Did we really need the automatic match-maker, the grading, etc. to make the concept fun? When EF was active, the people really came for the debates and to read (and occasionally write) good stories and match-ups.

Well, it IS winter break, and I have had time to work on that League of Extraordinary Gentlemen arc I started (but didn't get around to continuing) in October. I might as well get back to it!

Friends, comrades, visitors to this site from America, and the through out the world, while it may seem stupid, arbitrary, and pointless to say, and while my efforts may fall on deaf ears, I will still say it, We must band together now, more than ever.
Yes, we have lost our original "home", and yes it may seem we can never rebuild from where we we are at, but has that stopped us before?
Remember all the massive trolls, hackers, spam bots, stalkers, etc., that we've suffered, and yet look at this situation by comparison.
Tell me, which seems harder to rebuild from, a massive invasion of assholes, and site damaging threats, or the end of a site, when we are all still here, and at our hearts, and very cores, want to rebuild?
Now I don't want to make this sound like it's some namby pamby "Don't listen to Z" speech, and I sure as hell aint doing this just so I can find some online toy box to keep my GTA crap in.
I'm speaking this out of my heart.
I know, as we all do, EF, CBUB, and FPL are gone, and I knew it first before all of us, mind you.
But did that end the community too?
Are we to believe, that the legacy, and the hard work we all put in, all those character/image reviews, all the investigations into wrong doers, all the tournaments, all the matches written, as well as everything Fox has done for us, is really worth forsaking due to "hard times" and boredom?
Forgive me for thinking wrongly, but I thought we were all so much better than that?
For to me, that sounds like the murmuring of Anu, and various other pests.
Are you really telling me, that you all are no better than Anu, VCM, etc.?
Do you really think this community is solely based on you, and that our answers will just pop up out of the ground?
Sorry, but it just doesn't work that way.
So to conclude this little as you might think namby, pamby, Z speech, it's time we draw a line in the sand here folks.
On one side, there the exit, and you can leave anytime you'd like, but on the way out, don't tell me you're doing so because you're bored, or it's just "too hard" to rebuild.
And on the other, is where we are right now, and it aint much, but it is what we have, and I and a few of us have being working to make it more.
Granted it's not EF, but we are pressing forward any way in spite of that fact, because we see the merit in doing so.
That's all there is to it though folks, it's either this side, or the other.
Aint no in between any more, so if you want to preserve this site, in something other than just your memory, now's the time to make the choice.
