Meh, I'm okay I guess. I'm moving in 2 weeks so I've got a million things to do. So I guess "stressed, but optimistic"?

Any Holiday plans I hope? Geek Question- I think I hit my last straw with that new Power Rangers trailer, when did you get fed up with reboots? Or 'modernization' being shorthand for looking like a YA film in 2016

Dude I've been fed up with reboots and remakes for a loooooong time. They've always been around but in the late 90s Hollywood started spewing out a torrent of cheap, poorly written reboot/remake movies. Unlike previous films that often tried to build upon the original story or do something different, these were all pure brand-focused cash-ins.
"OH YOU REMEMBER THAT MOVIE OR TV SHOW OR CARTOON LOOK HERE'S SOME SH*T THAT'S SORT OF LIKE IT I GUESS JUST SHUT UP AND HAND OVER YOUR MONEY IDIOTS I'M MITIGATING FINANCIAL RISK HERE BRO"
A few made some serious cash despite being terrible and then it couldn't be stopped. Every Hollywood executive who had been risking his or her career every time they threw $100M at a new idea suddenly realized that they could just remake something that was already successful and people would go to see it even if it sucked. There was zero incentive for anyone to take any risks and produce original ideas. Like, ever. Forever.
As a guy with kids to feed I get that. I understand that. I see how that trend killed like 90% of all creativity in Hollywood. The nail in the coffin for me though, if I had to pick a particular film, was Battleship. I cringed when they re-did films like Robocop and Total Recall because even though I knew they would suck, at least there was a story there. They were trying to re-introduce those stories to a younger audience who aren't going to watch some 80s movie because EW WHATS WITH THAT WEIRD HAIR AND PARACHUTE PANTS BRO. It was terrible but there was at least a glimmer of purpose. Battleship had none of that. There is no story to the game Battleship. There's no deep world to delve into there. It was pure brand recognition. They even stuck Rihanna in there. Completely soulless.
As for the holidays who knows. I have to skip Halloween because of the move. Last year I made this kick ass skeleton costume with EL wire that flashed to the music and stuff but I've had no time to put into one this year. I'll do something cool next year. Christmas will just be me going broke and eating chocolate with my family - same as every year.

Sorry forgot to address Power Rangers specifically. Here are my thoughts:
1) It will be terrible, and not in the good way that all Power Rangers stuff is terrible. 2) They will spend way too much time out of the costumes, because film actors don't like hiding their faces (I'm looking at you, Fresh Prince of Deadshot) 3) The only good thing about the whole movie will be Bryan Cranston as Zordon because BRYAN CRANSTON. 4) They will use the phrase "It's morphin' time" only once, and then another character will immediately remark about how lame it is and then they'll never use it again.

Hmm, ya know that's actually a really good sum up of reboots. I admittedly wondered on one or two that seemed to have some heart in it and it looked promising, but that is more or less how it goes. Some things can be modernized, just not what modernization means in today's world. Battleship was a really awful project. Even me knowing the whole deal with hasbro and seeing what properties they at one point had their hands on...Battleship wasn't one of them. Sucks for halloween, a job I did get recently will pretty much have me the entire weekend before the 31st. That's normally fine, but it's as fun when there's no "Halloween Weekend" to move plans onto. The price to pay for last year's falling on a Saturday i guess...awesome costume idea. Love those, I'll have backburner costume ideas. Hope that last stretch works out for you man, the holidays should be good times but everyone's got their own family life. No prob about the power rangers thing. Yeah, sounds about right. Only one I'd add would be that the choreography for fight scenes might somehow be worse than some of the jankier fight scenes from the bad seasons that mixed japanese footage with 2nd rate gymnasts due to 'super cool powers' comprising the fights. -Thank you for answering me, oh powerful Soberguy! It's actually really cool seeing someone like you on here .
