My name is Eric Northman. I’m a vampire.
Now before you go full-on fangirl mode, know that I’m unavailable. Between training a new progeny, patching things up with my longtime companion Pam, and coping with the fact that Sookie Stackhouse is keeping me in the friend zone I don’t have much time for trivial things like satisfying the various women who lust after me on a daily basis. And I know there are many.
After helping stop the attempted genocide of the vampire race by the Governor of Louisiana and his psychotic groupie, I went on a brief vacation in Northern Europe. The blood of a millennia old fairy-vampire hybrid named Warlow allowed me to enjoy the warmth of the sun for a short time. But unfortunately, it wore off. Disappointing, I know.
Making my way back to Bon Temps, I witnessed said vampire on his first date with Sookie Stackhouse. Apparently some pact had been made between him and her ancestors, and she was ‘promised’ to him. I can’t exactly say I was happy for her. There will always be that part of me that loves her; no matter how hard I try to forget it.
Nonetheless, I wished them my best and moved on.
I then began the work of helping Pam re-establish her club, Fangtasia. I even approved of the budding feelings between her and her new progeny Tara Thornton. Who knew that somebody who once hated vampires would make such a good one?
All was well, my progeny Willa was embracing her vampire nature, and it seemed that Bon Temps would become the same boring place it once was. But all that changed the day I decided to take an assignment in Maine.
The day I met Carrie White.
