Looking over at Backlash Slade stated, "You may be the leader of the mission but don't confuse yourself and think you can tell me what to do. I'll have your back but you'll have to earn my respect. Very few have that privilege." As Slade finished those last words he patted Sportsmaster on the back and looked at Bane. Looking in Ebon's direction, "Son, before you forget your place here let me let you in on something. Judging by what I have seen, your power uses darkness or shadows. I have a flash grenade bright enough to make even Superman blink. I'm sure it would probably hurt a good bit to you. With your powers you have a lot going for you, learn discipline first." "Give it your best shot, fool." Ebon replied towards Slade's threat from the shadows, daring the masked man with every word. In his mind, he crafted multiple plans on how to best make Slade pay for his words, and decided on one with an untraceable smirk. 'Oh yeah, that'll teach him. Assuming this fool survives.'Waller's voice chimed in a second time, starting with the shadowy figure and going down the line. "So sorry Ebon, I swear that file was kept extra secret...shouldn't be too much of a problem though if you all can put differences aside. Dick measuring contests stay inside the chopper, Slade is 100% correct. The second I think one of you is hampering the team, you have until I decide to press a button to get things back on track. None of you need a demonstration I trust? Backlash is my eyes and ears on the ground, if he gives an order you would do well to follow it unless I say otherwise...but if he makes a mistake, his head pops off just as easily as the rest of yours". Crock rolled his eyes towards Deathstroke before checking his own equipment, making sure it'd collapse and extend when it was supposed to. Waller's words somewhat settled Ebon; they made him remember his purpose here, causing an unnerving calm to ease him. When the time came, the people who need to pay would pay, and the people who needed to die would die, if he could help it. |

Slade turned his attention towards the rest of the group. "So anyone care to share how they wound up here? I'm interested especially how we managed to have a member of the Bat Family grace us with his presence. You all tend to be goody goods. I heard even you took to the Bat's no killing Red."

"You had best remember that name everyone, he will be your field leader for this operation" called out the familiar growl of Waller. There was an intercom somewhere in the room it seemed and she had spoken plain for everyone to react to. After the announcement from Waller, Backlash simply kept quiet for a while seeing how the others reacted, meeting each team member eyes as they sought his out in turn. Looking over at Backlash Slade stated, "You may be the leader of the mission but don't confuse yourself and think you can tell me what to do. I'll have your back but you'll have to earn my respect. Very few have that privilege." Bane turned to Backlash his Team Leader with great interest. " Aaah Backlash our Team Leader. This is interesting. If Waller choose you to be Team Leader that means she must think highly of you. Hmm....More then Deathstroke apparantly.... Regardless of how long they knew each other....." As the others started bantering, he couldn't help but compare the new team to his old one. "Lets hope it doesn't go with this one as it did the last, though with the Wall in charge chances aren't that good..."" Are we going to get any heads up about this mission? Or is this another one of your hit the ground running and get details as we go along type of deal Waller? " Slade turned his attention towards the rest of the group. I heard even you took to the Bat's no killing Red." At the last question from Slade, he finally reacted audibly. "I'll take that question, along with the one from Bane about the mission. We're all here because we got an offer we couldn't refuse from the Wall, any details beyond that are pretty much irrelevant." He paused briefly and looked around while shaking his head. "We're all in this boat together, regardless of how or why we got here. I know that most of you aren't really team players, but if we don't work together we'll all end up in a shallow ditch somewhere, because the Wall decided that we weren't worth the hassle." He paused again while shrugging. "As for the mission, we're going to collect a few items in Metropolis for the Wall. We can most likely expect resistance from some of the degenerate Atlanteans as well as other groups trying to get the items for themselves, they're all expendable. The items we're after are a fancy box, a sword and some kind of chemical." |

Hearing Backlash explain some of the mission details, Slade mocked Waller. "Amanda, I'm hurt you felt you couldn't trust me with such simple details."
Pausing for a moment, Slade spoke to Backlash. "With all due respect fearless leader, I say when we get there we let the two kids (Hood and Ebon) got for the prize while we run interference. Between Hoods stealth and Ebon's powers it could be a quick grab. We hold Cold back as a last resort flash freeze. The rest of us can effectively hold back a small army but that's just one man's opinion. We don't want to be too flashy and draw the attention of the boyscout."

The rest of us can effectively hold back a small army but that's just one man's opinion. We don't want to be too flashy and draw the attention of the boyscout." Backlash nodded then waggled his hand in the air in a so-so gesture. "Glad to see that the rumors about you aren't completely wrong. The basic idea is decent, but there's a few things lacking." He stood up and made a general gesture towards the team as a hole. "First off, while the stealth approach is a solid idea, the team which goes after the items needs to have some decent offensive capability, so that if they run into some opposition they're able to take them out, especially considering the fact that we're likely to go up against Atlanteans." He gestured towards Red Hood. "No offense kid, but your little pea shooters won't do anything other than piss them off, and while you may be able to take one down using his own force against him, doing so will just alert the rest of his friends to where you are. Additionally, my capabilities are better suited for infiltration rather than direct combat." Pausing briefly, he turned completely into mist and shifted over to the other side of the room there he gestured at Slade before continuing. "We've got two heavy hitters on our team, namely yourself and Cheetah, we've got support and versatility in Cold and Ebon. And finally Hood, Bane, Sportsmaster and myself are... how should I put it." He paused for a moment glancing at the three others. "Lets call it special operations, that covers our general capabilities fairly well." He stopped speaking again while looking around at the entire team. "Here's how it's going down, Bane will take Cheetah, Sportsmaster and Cold to act as a distraction while covering our exit, they should be able to draw the attention of the other teams trying to acquire the items while still keeping it at a low enough level that we won't get any unwanted attention from the capes. Slade, Hood, Ebon and myself will try to acquire the items covertly. If we are discovered, Slade will be the spear-point around which we'll make our push to acquire our goal. Any questions?" |

Focusing his attention back on Backlash, he asked "What other powers do you have and where exactly did you say you were from?"

Backlash gave a brief grin before answering. "Well, I didn't actually. Lets just say that I've been around longer than the rest of you put together, so where I'm from doesn't exist any more. As for what else I can do..." As his voice faded out he partially manifested one of his psi-whips, allowing it to wave around in the air for a moment. "I've got these built-in tools that can be used for a range of things, none of which are essential information for the mission. But don't worry, I'm able to hold my own if we encounter any kind of resistance." |

"No questions here, but Red Riding Hood makes a good point. I'm a master thief. Experience is great, but I can get the job done with my arms tied behind my back."
Ebon more than welcomed a chance to show off his stuff, and was especially eager to get back at Slade for his self righteous attitude, but he had to wonder why a simple theft required such fortitude.

Bane heard the planned and nodded in agreement with him. " That's a pretty damn good plan. It's what I would do actually though I wouldn't act as the distraction. They forget I was the leader of the League of Shadows with Talia Al Ghul. I was born in darkness, stealth , and more. It's part of what I was trained to do by Ra's. Let them thing I am better suited for the role of the heavy hitter. It annoys me I don't know anything about our leader but this mission will change that as I watch him and the others."
" That is a great plan Backlash. However one problem. There is no such thing as avoiding boy scout if anyone one this mission decides to get out hand. One false move and this mission is over. The man is regarded as Batman's equal for a reason. World's Finest anyone? The man has knack for being able to keep track of things going on while fighting foes no matter where he is. This is his kingdom like Gotham is to Batman. Backlash do you and Waller know for a fact Superman will be busy elsewhere. Is there a back up plan? This is important information..."

If it was a 'Hero' responsible then odds are their capture would've gone public within a day. I sent em in a week ago. Ergo, a full team for a snatch and grab might be overkill or it might be a death sentence. Excuse me for being prepared....with that in mind...you'll find that big Blue is a bit busy with things elsewhere. Just don't make too much of an impact." she says, the pilot speaks up.
"Our drop point is coming up. The ship will be in a hover position, you'll be dropping. Armor up if you haven't already" he hollered in a Southern drawl as the plane noticeably slows down and seems to get close to floating.

Jason noted that everyone on this team seemed to be underestimating him and everyone else apparently. This wasn't much of a team really, and this mission was bullshit. This whole situation was bullshit, but it could be FUN bullshit and that made it ok enough for him. He put on his mask, got his guns and packed a few explosives. It was his second backup plan.

Seeing as the Wall had taken over the conversation before he could respond, Backlash simply waited while preparing his gear and suiting up. Once they were ready to go he decided to add a bit more information.
"To add to what the Wall said, another reason for why the grab team needs to be setup the way it is, is due to a mix of the number and type of items we're retrieving plus the potential adversaries we're likely to run into. If we'd been doing an op retrieving something from just regular goons, sending in Hood on his own would almost be overkill."
He shrugged and turned to face the team.
"Lets just get this thing done with a minimal amount of fuss. The more missions we run, the better our chances are of getting out of this alive. I know it sounds kind of contradictory, but we're all Very capable individuals."

Bane looked over to Backlash and nodded in agreement with him. Bane suited up as he grabbed some heavy weapons in the form of ak-47, smg machine guns, grenades, his body armor, and anything else he needed. Bane checked his mask to make sure he was good as he got prepared for the signal to be given they were at the drop point.
" This should be a easy and effortless mission indeed Backlash. Just to say this one last thing my comrades. If anyone thinks about screwing up this mission and gets out of line. If anyone does anything that even remotely puts Bane's goals in jeopardy. I will personally deal with you before Waller or Backlash get the chance."
After that Bane was silent and closed his eyes as he mentally prepared himself for battle like Ra's Al Ghul taught him.
