Here we go! Now I used an office word counter, then an online one. I managed under 250 words for all according to that but I did cut it close, so sorry if that doesn't pan out.

“It works” Nick chuckles like he 12 instead of 24. “This is so awesome”. Chad nods in agreement as he watches the diagnostics of each of the 30 SAINTs. Everything looked good, they we're at least as strong as a 300 lb man and they shouldn't slow down due to the
power core. There weren't any onboard weapons, but the chassis was military grade. If anything was going to survive the upcoming trials, it'd be what they're made of. It was all picture perfect.
“It’s a Christmas miracle alright. The only problem so far is I tripped on the way here” Chad says. Nick was back to work though, he made sure each robot had a list of names corresponding to a house in the state of Virginia. They were starting small for the moment, Nick orders the robots to move over to the toys. They do so in perfect unison,
“So far so good” Nick mutters as they all pick up big red sacks. With that handled, he uploads the protocol labeled ‘gift giving’. Then he hits run on the program which causes the group of machines to begin corresponding presents to addresses.
"Teleporter malfunction?" Chad asks. Nick shakes his head, it was working fine. The alert was from one of the robot's proximity detectors.

“I still can’t believe we got our hands on Santa’s Christmas list” Chad mutters. Nick wanted to make a joke about checking it twice, but he silently feeds it into the room’s data centre. Every nice name and wish would be filled in for.
“Told you my sis had connections. She’s still looking for clues on where the jolly man went” Nick explains. Chad shrugs it off though.
“Well we’re the only ones here tonight aside from the test subjects, I’ll get the champagne if this little experiment works out” Chad yawns, it was nearly 8 p.m but he pulled an all-nighter doing some last minute mechanic work. The computer begins to cycle through names and transmit them to robot A.I. systems.
“Don’t forget the gifts, courtesy of U.S. Government funding. Now once the raw data sorted, the SAINT bots should do the rest” Nick smirks.
“We’re really calling them SAINT bots?” Chat asks on his way out with a frown.
“This job’s off the books, besides it’s Christmas time. Beats calling them ELVES” Nick shrugs before entering his Admin code. After a few clicks he had full control of DARPA’s facilities and he was going to use them to teleport experimental robots off to deliver presents.
Personality:
Chad eventually comes back with several trash dumpsters full of toys, clothing, and other knick knacks. He was pretty winded, but powered by Christmas Spirit and some Bourbon he forces the canisters inside. Everything was pre-sorted which would save the SAINT bots some time. The whole time Nick was balancing a pencil on his nose since the list had finished booting a few minutes ago. Upon seeing his co-worker arrive, he drops the pencil and jumps up to greet him.

“Good work as always with the heavy lifting. Where would we be without each other?” Nick muses.
“Well, I’d be in MIT wondering why I didn’t join a state college instead. Doubt you would have that big smirk on your face anywhere near as often. You’d still be a child prodigy though, so that’s not too bad” Chad jokes before taking back a second shot of Whiskey.
“I think you’re right Chad. Fate is one of life’s greatest mysteries. A great big puzzle” he sighs happily. Chad rolls his eyes,
“You treat everything like a puzzle” Chad grumbles. He goes for another drink before Nick stops him.
“Everything’s more interesting when it’s a puzzle. Now before you end up completely smashed for the evening you have one more diagnostic test to run on our metal friends and their new toys for the maiden voyage. No harm no foul on Christmas” Nick exclaims.
“Unless we lose the experimental technologies somewhere in a residential area” Chad sighs.
Intelligence Rank 2 (4pts): There’s reading and there’s understanding
As instructed, Chad ran through each of the machine’s main systems. Each of the 30 robots had four main components; a learning A.I. that could be piloted manually in a pinch, a teleportation pack meant to move the user through physical space, a reactor that may or may not be powered by zero-point energy, and the human sized working chassis and circuitry that kept it together. It all seemed to be operating. Chad smirks;

It all seemed to be operating. Chad smirks;
“Four completely unrelated projects and you mash em all together inside of four months...and the way it’s designed, it looks ready to paintball. Did I call you a prodigy? I should’ve said a savant” he jokes. Nick didn’t hear though, he was busy checking blueprints of the original projects.
“Talk about resurrection right?” he muses about a good minute after the original joke. Chad just nods. “Making all this old tech work is a damn good puzzle. 70’s and 80’s technology, yet they were so close, but it’s the little things that get in the way. Like here, ‘despite success, the teleportation project halted due to previously unconsidered consequences’.Sound so professional” he muses. Chad shrugs,
“Well, safety and all that.” he says. Nick smirks before motioning to the date of the note. He goes on to explain that David Cronenburg’s The Fly had released a few weeks prior. Chad gives up a laugh before Nick interrupts.
“Well enough of that, let’s test drive Uncle Sam’s new toys!” he shouts.
Commander Rank 2 (4pts): All controlled from your home console
Nick faces the computer console and cracks his knuckles. With a few keystrokes, the robot’s whirr to life. Chad inspects his handiwork as they’re all ordered to take a practice step forward. They do so in unison.

Teleportation Rank 2(4pts): Fastest Travel possible
As Chad watches the robots react to the order, Nick observes the computer as 30 camera feeds pop up on the screen; one P.O.V. for each machine so they could keep track of everything. With gifts in hand, the robots activate the transporter, Nick watches the cameras fuzz out for a second only to be replaced by views of inside and outside houses.
"Checking GPS" Nick mutters as Chad watches on. A secondary computer pops to life with a satellite image of Virginia. 30 dots appear in different parts of the state, some were still moving because the distance required multiple jumps. Some jumps were as far off as a block but they were all operational still. There was no sign of any major faults in the A.I., chassis, reactor or teleporter.
"So far so good" Chad smirks. "That's a success so far for all parts of the experiment. Don't drive them too hard" he says as several machines return for their second trip. Every atom was still where it should be.
"I'd relax, nothing is malfunctioning. Break out the champagne because Christmas has come to Virginia" Nick counters. He was about to add that nothing could go wrong when one of the SAINT bots sounded a red alert.
"Teleporter malfunction?" Chad asks. Nick shakes his head, it was working fine. The alert was from one of the robot's proximity detectors.
Detective Rank 1(2pts): It even thinks for itself
The SAINT was currently inside a home, hiding from a little girl it woke up. She walks past the robot and notices presents dropped presents
"Santa?" the engineers hear through an onboard mic. They start to panic, they were hoping everyone would be asleep by 11 at night when they started. The robot inspects the room, plenty of decorations despite the disappearance having happened a few months ago. Nick starts to ready manual override when the robot stops it's scan and activates a voice synthesizer.
"Ho Ho Ho, good little girls should be asleep by now" it says in a fuzzy, but Santa-like voice. The girl beams with excitement.
"Ok Santa! Glad you're back" she whispers before running upstairs. The two engineers sigh in relief as the SAINT teleports back to base to resupply with toys.
"That was clever. Adaptive A.I. is a big success" Chad says with a triumphant howl. Nick smiles at the video screen, it doesn't go unnoticed. "Putting a smile on a kid's face, that's almost as good as the awards we're getting for advancing world changing technology".
"Scientific achievement and a Christmas miracle. That's champagne worthy. Pop a cork" Nick orders, leaving the robots on autopilot as he prepped another list to upload.
"I already opened the champagne, what are you doing?" Chad sighs
"Testing the boundaries, I'll take a drink right now. Just seeing how far up and down the east coast we can get. Merry Christmas!" Nick enthusiastically boasts.
