Crocodile's sand scythes shot down toward Maleficent and her earthen beast. "Hah! Is that all you have, sand man? It'll take more than that too--" Her cocky monologue was cut short. Two of the blades cut particularly deep on either side of the snake creature's body. It would have bled if it could, but instead, even as it rose on the massive vine wave, the monster sputtered and swayed as if dazed. Maleficent bit back a curse as the wall of vines rose along with the incapacitated beast. She rose with her pet back up to the level of the main bridge. She eyed Croc with hatred, then glanced at Black Star and Nero. Weren't there more of them?
It didn't matter. Maleficent only had one true mission. The reason she was on this blasted planet was to protect the machine. She glanced at the massive contraption behind her. It hummed with life, countless makeshift wires and tubes emanating from all sides. Even she didn't understand it fully, but she knew two things. One, that it had a door for some reason, though where the door lead... And two, no one was to gain access inside. She leaped off of the wall of vines and landed in front of the doorway. Even as she stood there, vines were beginning organize themselves like wrought iron bars in front of the door.
"Over my dead body!"
Ocelot grit his teeth as he saw the shape Mikasa was in. This was bad, and the cowboy wasn't sure what to do.
"Well, that's why you take a second shot at it...come on, we've got this. Just take 5 and we handle the next step together," he grunted, dropping most of his Western twang. He didn't care so much at this point. "You're gonna survive this...heh, you have to, not going to leave all this hard work to some drifter right? You're stronger than that," he grunted as the roar was heard. "See? Gonna need a hand here, I know you're stronger than this."
"We've got this," Mikasa repeated with a weak, yet sincere smile. If she was making any attempt to move, it didn't look like it. A few moments passed, before a tear rolled down her face. "W-well, this is *cough* a l-little embarrassing. I can't feel my feet. A-are they gone?" She didn't even so much as look down as she questioned Ocelot with glassy eyes. As they spoke, Maleficent rode past on her wall of vines. She didn't seem to see them, but the earthen beast she summoned glanced at them sideways, swayed, then collapsed next to them on the walkway, it massive head producing a loud THUD as the wood struck metal. The wall of vines continued to rise however, slow but steady. They consumed the walkway, threatening to consume the body of the beast, and Ocelot if he didn't move.
"Go," she sighed. "S-save our worlds."
Black Star jumped to catch the weapon but as it flew back to him, in a puff of smoke, Tsubaki transformed back into her human form. Black Star caught her, but she hit with enough force to knock him over. The pair skidded across the metal floor for a few feet before correcting themselves.
Black Star and Tsubaki stood, "How the hell is this guy still standing?" Black Star asked.
That's when they heard the roar. "We have to end this now Black Star," Tsubaki said.
"No problem," Black Star smiled, "I took out one already, time to go 2 for 2!" Tsubaki turned back into her Shurikan mode and Black Star launched her again. This time he was counting on his enemy to have a slower reaction time, giving Tsubaki a chance to gain some distance and momentum before he attempted to push her away again. If this plan worked, she'd transform to her human form before he had a chance to push her back. Once she got in striking range she'd hall off and punch him directly across the jaw. She wasn't as strong as Black Star, but in Zane's current condition, she could do plenty of damage - if not outright knock him out.
Black Star and Tsubaki's plan went exactly as plotted. Zane hovered in the distance, limbs broken, contemplating how best to kill them in his condition. God screamed at him all the while. Before he could think clearly, the metallic weapon came his way again. Before he could push it, it was no longer metal, and before he could react, a fist crossed his jaw with surprising force. Zane's eyes rolled back as he fell, though he didn't have far to fall. The ground was coming up at him, in the shape of thorny vines. Zane plummeted to his death, impaled by impossibly large thorns.
Supprisly this Mistborn is still alive. Nero knew they were tough but this tough? Nero heard the roaring and then looked at the massive creature Croc is facing. With Black Star lunching his attack upon Zane, the demon hunter knew Black Star could finish the Mistborn off, and that he needed to help deal with massive monster. Nero goes running towards the bridge and he jumps off it, going to find Blue Rose and Red Queen. So he can fight with full strength. Nearby, the demon hunters Red Queen is relatively nearby, sitting on a particularly nasty vine with thorns that delicately held his sword like a pedestal. His gun however, to small to balance on such hazards, was nowhere to be seen. Maleficent watched as Nero broke into a sprint and assumed he was making the first move. Before, the environment was just empty space and countless bridges. Now, vines were everywhere. At least now the floor was mostly level, give or take ten feet here and there, but the threat of a long fall was replaced by wicked looking natural daggers everywhere. One could either keep to the current walkway, the walkways above, or risk traversing the vines to cross the gap between the main bridge and Maleficent, standing before the door of the world breaking machine.
