Honestly, I don't really care for anything with a female lead, but I'm still pretty excited to see this movie.

As long as the story is good and it sets up the new trilogy perfectly I'm fine. Now all we have to wait for is a trailer for that Fantastic Four film. Good Lord....

Not sure how I feel about the new Fantastic Four movie yet. Liked the first one but not a fan of the Fantastic Four in general though.

As long as they don't try to force some feminist girl-power agenda down our throats I'm all for female leads. Some of my favorite characters are female leads. Bring on the female leads.
That said, it looks ok. If the teaser's purpose was to invoke hype it neither failed or succeeded. I'll still see it when it comes out. The Internet's reaction to the crossguard saber has mostly been cynical and dumb. What, this is excessive but the double-bladed Maul saber everyone gushes over is just peachy? Grievous twirling around a quartet of sabers like cheerleading batons is acceptable? C'mon now. Feasibility of real-world applications of a lightsaber variant aside, that thing could offer a killer defense if a duelist mastered it in-universe. Luke, Anakin, Dooku, Mace and every other asshole who ever got a hand chopped off by an opposing lightsaber should look at that and say "I want". If their blade makes it past yours, you now have a second line of defense. Makes perfect sense.
Sure, realistically if someone tried using it they'd probably cut their hand off, but the same applies for regular lightsabers as it is. Someone trying to use Maul's would cut themselves in half. These are Jedi and Sith in a fictional universe where such applications of real-world logic do not apply. That's not gonna happen.

Actually, the problem is that the crossguard on that saber doesn't work, since not all of the crossguard is lightsaber, it still has emitters. Those can still be sliced through as if they weren't there.

I hope this new trilogy shows there will be a new Jedi Academy of some sort down the line or at least Luke has one or two Jedi he is training.

Well, the reason why is has the cross guards is because it's not an "official" lightsaber. It's a DIY lightsaber. With the death of the Jedi and the Sith and all of that, the blueprints for the original Lightsaber was lost, stupid, I know, but that's the explanation.

If only someone skilled in such a saber's use could somehow master the art of shifting his grip to correlate with his enemy's strikes.

If only someone had invented light saber proof coating, maybe one that could be used on a Sith Lord's body armor...Nah, nothing comes to mind.

So....the EU doesn't exist then? Oh no, it does. It's just called 'Legends' now. But every story, including comics, novels, tv shows, and video games that come out now are all apart of canon, which means no new material for the EU. So...effectively dead. Only thing the EU has now is SWTOR.

Yup and I like that way. Everything is canon and they can regulate what new stuff they create. Don't let it get too crazy.

Oh don't get me wrong, I like it. There's just certain things about the EU that I wanted to be canon. Like all the Old Republic Lore and The Bane trilogy and Mara Jade.

Did they even say what exactly they kept that's canon regarding books and games canon with the films? I forgot about that now that I think about it.
