Official Matches helps build-up the fight records of the characters in the database, and to see who would win in a fight.
Anyone can write an Official Match as long as you follow the rules.
----------------
The Characters
You can only make Official Matches with characters that are in the database. You can make matches like 1vs1, 1vs1vs1, 1vs1vs1vs1, 2vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3vs3, 1vs10, 10vs10, etc. If you want to make a match with an character that isn’t in the database, then go to the “Character Requests for the Database” topic, and post what character you want in the database. Us Character Admins will do the best we can to add the character to the database. If you can’t wait for the character, or that character can’t be added to the database for some reason, then you can use “The Prototype Profile” to substitute the character you need for your match.
Note from DSkillz: After some thought, The Prototype Profile probably isn't all that necessary for you, the match-maker, to include a link of it in your match. After all, you guys could fairly easily find a link to a source discussing an unavailable character and post to your matches. The Prototype Profile would actually be more necessary to us, the members of the staff, to help keep records of various matches that include unavailable characters.
Secondary note from DSkillz: Another way users can help give matches the look and feel of the CBUB Official Matches and Back Issues is to add images of the characters involved somewhere in the match's post. You can could even include a Vs. logo, such as the one from EF, which I so happened to attach to MagneticFox:

A good way to add images to posts is to use the "Insert Image" option in the post's edit toolbar. Just click on the "Insert Image" icon, post the image's link in the "Insert Image" pop-up, within its "Image URL" textbox, then press the "Insert Image" button at the bottom of the pop-up to add the image to your post.
For example, if you wanted to make leading imagery for a Superman vs. Hulk match, you could just find images for both Superman and Hulk and add the Vs. logo in between, all in one line.
The Set-Up
All Official Matches are strongly encouraged to have a set-up. Set-ups can be long or short, but not too short. No one-liners like “Goku and Superman fight each other”. We want full detail set-ups telling us why the characters are fighting each other. Also, make sure you put the links of the Database Characters in the match. That way people can click on the links to look up the characters, giving them the idea on who they think will win.
Note from DSkillz: I have another point that should probably be brought up. Many of you vets from the old EF may be thinking that you should strictly be thinking of making never-before-seen character match-ups. That really shouldn't be the case here. This is in of itself a new, separate site than EF that is still trying to grow in participation and activity, so don't limit yourselves by thinking you "must" make a brand new conflict. If you guys have good ideas in mind for the likes of Superman/Goku, Batman/Captain America, He-Man/Lion-O, etc., etc., I'd say go for it.
Another note: When adding links for character profiles into your match's main post, be sure put some separation between the links, whether it be a space, a press of the Tab button, or even placing the links on separate lines from one another. Links placed right next to each other combine into one, extra-long link, and only leads to the source of the first link listed.
The Poll
All Official Matches require a poll for people to vote. The number of votes will decide the winner of an Official Match. When adding a poll, make sure it has a close date for the match to end on. If you can’t add a close date for the poll for some reason, try at least put in the set-up or post what time and date you want the match to end on. You can make the poll run for five or more days.
People replying to matches does help the voters decide who to vote for.
----------------
After an Official Match ends, the results will be edit into the characters’ fight record by the Character Admins. The results will also appear on the “Final Score Matches” topic.
Also, have fun.
