I think it's an extremely trivial matter, but whatever. Do you want me to talk about how awesome Avatar is here, or in the cartoons thread? It doesn't matter to me. I'm 99.9% sure DSkillz is saying it isn't an anime, and should be talked about in the Cartoon thread.
Edit: Same with RWBY since it wasn't made in Japan. If you check our database, both Avatar's and RWBY's characters are in the Cartoon section. So that's what they're being considered as, for now.

To be fair, RWBY is an Anime too from my understanding, though it was made by RoosterTeeth. In the purest since of the word, that's true. But then so are Popeye, the Mickey Mouse shorts, and Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies. If one goes by the general Western definition, though, RWBY and the Avatar-verse shows are actually more anime-influenced works conceived in America. I've been thinking a lot about this (part of what's taking me so long to post here, heh), and even considered allowing discussion of the Avatar shows, RWBY and the like here, considering how heavy the "Japanese anime" influence is in these shows. In the end, though, it's probably best to discuss the anime-influenced American animated shows in the Cartoons threads. If there were a more general "Cartoons and Animation" thread, animes ( broad definition, folks ) of all types would definitely be good all-around discussion in the thread. The "lines" were already drawn, though, when separate threads for Cartoons and Anime/Manga were made, pinned, and thoroughly posted in.

Couldn't search the details of their production team at work. For some reason I thought it got a distribution from some Anime company over there.

RWBY is the first American anime-inspired work to get dubbed in Japanese as opposed to the other way around(starting in Japan and coming here) if that's what you mean.

I haven't been watching much, these days, so unless you want to hear about how much I love Naruto and One Piece, there's usually not much to say. I did buy .hack//Roots over a month ago, though, and have slowly been working my way through it. Let me start out by saying I love the .hack franchise to death, and may be the only on EF that did(or no one just ever said so). But even so, I don't really care for Roots. I'd recommend any of the other series, ovas, games before it. It's just not that good. It starts off so slow; I think almost the entire first half of the 26 episode series is pointless fluff. And I don't really like any of the characters. The main dude is just awful. He's like a white-haired Sasuke. Barf. So, yeah. .hack//Sign>.hack//Quantum>GU Trilogy>Legend of the Twilight>>>>>>>>>>>>.hack//Roots.
