Wrestling matches have always been about telling a story and entertaining the audience. Not just pure wrestling. It's about putting on a show which is why guys like Rock and Hogan (accidentally deleted more than I meant of your post I apologize. I am posting from my phone) Now that I'm done rage vomiting these posts, I can make a more clear argument. I understand what match is about. One of my favorite things about Cena and why I don't hate him (although he's far from my favorite) is his ability to tell a story. I have been watching since I was 9 and have been wrestling (yes Backyard but way more legitimate than most backyarders in that we actually train and try and put on good wrestling) for the past 3 years. I will not claim to be any kind of authority on wrestling, but I do what it's about. When I say best wrestler I am they need to be able go in the ring, weather they're style is mat based, high flying, brawling, hardcore, or even pure power. They need to be able to wrestle, they're style at the top level while telling a story. But, no matter how dominate Brock Lesnar was and no matter how effective this match was at establishing that, I don't think it delivered the story as effectively as it could have for the simple fact Brock used 1 move over and over and over again. Starting with a finisher was an awesome way to establish the stakes of the match and get over how much trouble Cena was in. But suplex after suplex made the match boring. It would have been simple for Brock to establish the same dominance while using more than one move. That would have also served to save Cena from looking like a complete moron for falling into the same move over and over again. To his credit, Cena sold like a champ. Cena delivered like a champ. He made it clear that he would not back down no matter what and would not give up. But allowing him to not attempt any other method than "run and attack" only to get caught in suplex after suplex makes him look stupid. And to not have Brock establish himself as dominate and able to wrestle (because as you said he does know how) is foolish in my opinion. But hey, Raw proved that Lesnar is over because he destroyed Cena. So maybe I'm objectively wrong. But it doesn't change that I would have enjoyed the match more if Lesnar did more. If he added in a Belly to Belly. Used a spin buster. Of he brought back the Brock Lock. A god damned clothesline! Then it would have been more entertaining. Because no matter what story they were trying to tell. No matter what they got across. Brock Lesnar used 1 move over and over again. And that made it boring. And boring is the worst thing a wrestling match can be.

Yea I completely agree. I get the sense Lesnar doesn't want to use wrestling moves like he use to because he is so butt hurt about how his image looks to UFC and MMA fans in case he wants to go back to them. My only problem is WWE are fucking assholes for allowing Brock to not care about whether or not he hurts his opponent in the ring but yet they if another hard working wrestler makes a honest botch in the ring that's bad then that person will get in trouble.
Oh as far as wrestling fans one minute cheering Lesnar and the next booing him. There are just a lot of them that makes us look bad and are fucking stupid. Its the same ones who don't get how a storyline works when WWE was builting up to Bryan winning the title at Wrestlemania.

I didn't think it was boring at all. John Cena, a man who has made a career out of fighting and overcoming the odds for 11 years, got systematically beaten down, destroyed, and in effect, squashed. It was an amazing move from a storytelling perspective and that's what the match was, really, a storytelling match. The quality on that end was enough to carry it even with the lack of mat and catch wrestling.
In my opinion, of course.

And that sums up my feelings on the match. I could elaborate, but I don't have much to say that I didn't already say.

In other news, just so I'm not sitting here and complaining all the time, how good is Paul Haymen? He is one of the best talkers in the business and if there's a silver lining I can find to Brock Lesnar winning its Paul Haymen's golden Mic work.
In other news, HOLY SHIT! If you don't watch NXT, start! www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=595916107187887

That link is broken for me, but if it's in any way related to Kenta, Prince Devitt or Kevin Steen being signed by NXT then yes.

Paul Heyman is the best talker in the business right now and as far as I am concerned my favorite manager.

OH! Yeah, Kalisto's great. He's a much better fit to be their next Rey than Sin Cara if they go that route with him.

Damn that was nice. I love how NXT is so damn good even the wrestlers on the main rosters are afraid these young guys make them look bad when they put on decent PPVs while NXT Stars put on 5 star PPVS all the time.
Why the fuck doesn't WWE take there secondary titles like the United States Championship seriously and let it be a title these young guys in NXT can work toward and feud for. It could be like the huge step up for them and bring credit to the title that it hasn't had in over 10 years.
Also does WWE realize if they let there wrestlers cut loose with promos and matches like they let the young stars on NXT do they would be golden?
Say what you want but Triple H is the man responsible for all of these. He is the one making it possible to get all this great youngs star and let them shine. Not Vince. He wasn't going after all these guys and didn't care for the indies. Triple H is a student of the old game. Thats why I want him to take over creative completely instead of Vince once again taking control over the creative direction.

Yeah, whatever ego Triple H may have had ten years ago has well and truly died. He's a company guy through-and-through now, giving these young stars opportunities to shine and building the top guys of the future. The IWC still complain about Hunter, Batista and Orton burying people, but where's their evidence? Recent events show otherwise. When I look back over their big matches recently I see Orton putting Bryan over a bunch, Batista putting Bryan over a bunch, Hunter putting Bryan over a bunch - then all three guys putting him over on the same night. After Wrestlemania, I see Evolution putting Ambrose over a bunch, Evolution putting Rollins over a bunch, Evolution putting Reigns over a CRAZY bunch. HHH, unlike Vince, focuses on technical wrestling and charisma when scouring for stars, which is probably why Kevin Steen (who's gives new meaning to the term "bulk muscle") just got signed. Vince just cares about how cool and marketable they look.

Here's a fun little segment we do on my Wrestling Rundown. As I'm sure you know by now, I do like Brock Lesnar... and neither do my cohosts. So here's this month's "Who should have ended the Streak." www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhv4VdcmR0s

No one's responded to this yet? Man, I remember O'Haire from his early WWE days. He had an interesting heel gimmick going early on. It's a shame that he really never had a good push even back then. R.I.P. [HASH]testtag
