The Warriors
The Warriors were a prominent street gang in New York City around the time of the meeting; they were recognized as being the gang who were falsely accused of killing Cyrus, the leader of the Gramercy Riffs.
The Warriors were founded on April 16, 1978, by Cleon and Vermin; the former served as the gang's Warlord until the meeting.
Both Cleon and Vermin were formerly members of the Coney Island-based gang the Destroyers, although they were later set up by the Destroyers' leader Virgil and left the gang to found The Warriors.
For a long time, a rivalry existed between The Warriors and the Destroyers, although The Warriors were eventually able to eliminate the Destroyers and take complete control of Coney Island.
After ending the Destroyers, The Warriors began to raise their reputation, as they wasted Birdie, a Turnbull AC's lieutenant.
The Warriors were eventually able to get themselves onto the Riffs' network after helping the Saracens frame the Jones Street Boys and some corrupt cops; this led to The Warriors being invited to the meeting held by Cyrus and the Riffs in Van Cortlandt Park.
At the meeting, Cyrus was killed by Luther, the leader of the Rogues.
However, Luther blamed The Warriors, which led to the Riffs killing Cleon and a search for The Warriors being carried out by the gangs of New York.
The Warriors were separated numerous times throughout the course of the night as they attempted to return home to Coney, though they were able to evade or escape from gangs such as the Turnbull AC's, Baseball Furies, Orphans, Lizzies and Punks in order to return to their territory.
On the Coney Island beachfront, a final confrontation occurred between now-Warlord Swan and Luther; though Luther drew a handgun, Swan was able to dodge and throw his switchblade into Luther's arm to disable him.
The Riffs then appeared, having been informed that Luther and the Rogues were actually behind Cyrus' murder.
The search for The Warriors was called off; with the new leader of the Riffs' Masai praising the gang and allowing them free passage past the many Riffs present on the beach.
