The limit in the subject bar forces me to initial the names of the characters. Hate that.
Megastory 8.4
Hawkman, Andros, Silverhawks vs. Thrax, Z Putties, Cyclops monster
Previously: Investigating the death of Trey of Trinotia: the Gold Zeo Ranger, Andos: the Red Space Ranger was captured by
Hawkman, who apparently was working with the Triceratons. Krang was also involved and Andros attempted to capture the Utrom
for questioning.
Krang’s android body was slow and awkward, but Andros still found it difficult to over come. The molecular reconstruction unit
allowed it to change its arms into all kinds of lethal objects, cannons, spiked ball and chains, blades, and more.
It got worse when Krang activated his molecular amplification unit. The android body grew to a height where its head would hit the
ceiling if it stood on its toes; about fifteen feet.
At that point, the Red Space Ranger targeted the vulnerable spot. Inside the stomach was the actual being, who had identified
himself as Krang.
Unsure of how much the living being could take, Andros blasted it on a low setting.
Krang yelped and lost control of the android. Evidently having some preset programs built in, the android went to step on the Red
Space Ranger. Andros easily rolled out of the way and kept at it with his blaster.
As victory became apparent, Hawkman burst into the room. With his bird-like wings, he soared right past Andros and smashed his
mighty mace into the oversized face of the android, delivering the finishing blow.
Remembering the battle they had in which Hawkman defeated him, Andros got ready for a rematch.
Hawkman landed a few yards from the Power Ranger and checked to make sure that Krang wasn’t going to be getting back up. The
brain-like being was fumbling with the controls but they were unresponsive. Hawkman turned to Andros.
“I actually wanted him to get away, but you obviously weren’t going to let that happen.”
“Wait, what?” said Andros, his guard dropping a little. “I don’t understand.”
“I’m Katar Hol. Special investigator for Thanagar police.” Hawkman explained. “I’ve been undercover with these beings trying to find
out how far and high this plot of theirs goes. Krang here was about to lead me to another player. Until you captured him. Now I’ll
have to bring him in and interrogate him.”
“So you’re one of the good guys?” Andros set out to make things clear.
“Obviously.” Hawkman scoffed. “If I had been serious when I captured you, you wouldn’t be alive. Figured a prisoner would get me
before Krang’s allies. Now that things have changed, I’ve called in reinforcements to take the base.”
As soon as he said it, another hawkman policeman and two Silverhawks soared into the room. They seemed to be expecting
resistance and were surprised to find Katar Hol and Andros already having defeated Krang.
The asteroid base secure, all involved parties gathered to straighten out their stories.
Hawkman sent the Thanagarian military police away, being that this was his case alone. Andros hadn’t called any other Power
Rangers yet. The Silverhawks had their commander, a man named Stargazer, come and straightened their stories out.
“I was undercover with the Triceratons.” Hawkman explained. “We knew they were up to something but it seemed a bit big-brained
for them. I needed to find out who they were working with.”
“A renegade Utrom.” Commander Stargazer stated. “And the Planet Doom.”
“Can we be sure about Planet Doom?” Andros asked.
“They sold a robeast to the Triceratons.” Commander Stargazer explained. “There’s nothing robeast related that King Zarkon
wouldn’t know about. If it was some rouge Doom faction, the legit forces would have been all over this before any of us got
involved.” He looked at Hawkman. “What are your orders from here?”
“I’m going to pursue this some more.” Hawkman told him.
“So am I.” said Andros.
“Great! You can partner up with the Silverhawks. That will give you a bit more galaxy wide police power.”
“I appreciate your support Commander,” Hawkman apologized. “But I work better alone.
“I can’t give you orders, Hol, but I can tell you, the Silverhawks are on this case. You can get in each others’ way or you can
cooperate.”
“If that’s the way it’s going to be, Commander, a little backup isn’t going to kill me.”
Andros said. “I have the preset coordinates that Krang had installed in the transmat. It was probably some safe house or something.
We can start there.”
Transmats were not unheard of technology, but the Utroms had perfected it. They had some of the best technology in the galaxy
but for some reason, they controlled almost no space at all. They were so underground that even well-traveled explorers and
adventures could go their whole lives never having heard of them.
Hawkman was a bit upset that he had to wait for the Silverhawks to go through repairs from their battle with the Triceratons but he
worked out some battle strategies with Andros to make good use of the time.
When the Silverhawks were finally cleared for action, everyone gathered at the transmat.
They formed a circle, Hawkman, Andros, and then the Silverhawks- Quicksilver, Steelheart, Steelwill and Copperkid. Bluegrass
stayed behind in case a rescue was needed.
The transmat took them to a facility on that radiated an eerie vibe of death.
They spread out, attempting to secure the area. Signs of battle were everywhere.
Soon they started to find the bodies.
Dead Triceartons. Dozens of them. A slaughter had taken place and the culprits hadn’t even bothered to clean up.
Given the silence, the fight was over.
The female Silverhawk- Steelheart communicated that she found the control room and was accessing the central computer.
Quicksilver ordered Steelheart to continue searching the facility while he and Copperkid joined Steelheart in the control room.
Andros and Hawkman both volunteered to keep exploring as well.
Within a few minutes Steelheart had something to report.
“We’re on Pluto. Far away from any other bases on the planet. I can’t access any objective information but I do have access to
blueprints and personnel logs.”
“No info on what happened here?” Hawkman wondered.
“No.” Steelheart answered. “Apparently they were caught by surprise.” A short pause. “Oh my stars! There’s an unidentified fleet
that just passed! The scanners are watching them go deeper into the solar system.”
“That can’t be good news for Earth.” Quicksilver theorized. It was the hub world of this solar system.
Steelheart reported more of her activities and her analysis. “I’m sending Earth defense agencies a warning along with the data. But
I’m sure they already know about it. This fleet isn’t cloaked at all and they aren’t even trying to mask their approach behind any
stellar bodies. They’re just barging into the system. I think the Triceratons were trying to figure out what was going on when the
base was ambushed.”
“Sounds like they beamed an assault team down during the fly by.” Quicksilver guessed. “Copperkid and I are almost to you
Steelheart.”
The female Silverhawk heard the approach of her comrades and almost didn’t bother to turn around and was glad when she did.
No one had said it, but going off of Quicksilver’s theory of the enemy fleet beaming an assault team down during their fly by,
everyone assumed that the hostiles did their job quickly and beamed back to their ship before it got out of range.
She yelped as she fell sideways to avoid the energy blast that was intended for her. Before she even got a grip on who was
attacking her Stealheart announced a warning to the others.
“Hostiles are still in the base! I’m under attack! Be on the lookout for ambushes!”
“It’s already started!” Hawkman growled as everyone, everywhere came under fire.
Fight Parameters:
Andros, Hawkman, and the Silverhawks are spread out throughout the facility. They will have to fight their way back into
regrouping.
The enemies include:
Thax, the commanding officer.
Twenty-five Z Putties (as opposed to the regular putties). They are all armed with blaster rifles of some kind.
The Cyclops monster from Power Rangers series. He’s human-sized in this fight and will copy human-sized versions of the various
Megazords that he turned into in the show. (I remember the original Megazord, the Dragonzord, the Thundermegazord and maybe
the Ninjamegazord, I think.)
