Biography of Raiden:
The immortal God of Thunder and primary defender of Earthrealm from otherworldly threats, Raiden fought in many battle throughout Earthrealm's history. Raiden helped to train many of Earthrealm's champions alongside the likes of Bo' Rai Cho in preparation for the Mortal Kombat tournaments. The Mortal Kombat champions' job was to win the tournament and thereby prevent the evil Emperor of Outworld, Shao Kahn from merging his realm with Raiden's. After receiving a telepathic message from a futuristic version of himself from an alternate timeline, Raiden was determined to prevent the apocalyptic vision he saw, but due to numerous oversights and mistakes on his part he only ended up quickening the coming of Armageddon. However, after Shao Kahn's forces claimed the lives of numerous Earthrealm defenders, Raiden defeated Shao Kahn with the aid of the Elder Gods. Raiden was also instrumental during the fights against the evil former Elder God, Shinnok.
