Murdoc Niccals (Gorillaz)
Bio: Murdoc was the main bassist of Gorillaz and the one with the rough Cockney accent. He was a bad influence on the lead singer, 2-D, but the two were initially good friends despite their fundamental differences. He prided himself on being "edgy" but was secretly jealous that his band mates endured more popularity than him. However, as time went by, Murdoc steadily became more sinister and abusive, with his appearance changing to match. This was because it was revealed that Murdoc could be the Antichrist and that he has existed since ancient times, but reincarnates constantly, possibly because he sold his soul to the fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse, Flatulence. Despite possibly being an embodiment of evil, Murdoc lead a rescue mission to find his band mate Noodle after a cruise ship she was on was destroyed by pirates, and he eventually discovered the mythical paradise Plastic Beach along the way.
Powers, Abilities and Personality: Murdoc was thoroughly despicable and creepy, and he relished in it. After his sinister origins became known to him, he became even more detestable. Over the course of the band's history, he has seemingly degenerated from being a lean, tanned man to a green-skinned, elfish, zombie-looking dude who could barely pass for being a human. Murdoc was a great guitar player, but his terrible singing voice resulted in 2-D being the face of the band. Murdoc was an unbelievably skilled engineer and mechanic, capable of building a very convincing android doppelgänger of Noodle on his own. However, Murdoc's alcoholism put a dampener on his abilities.
vs.
Howard Stark (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Bio: The original CEO of Stark Industries, Howard Stark was a charming and ingenious inventor, economist and showman. He assisted the government during World War II with his engineering genius, and developed a machine to safely inject the Dr. Abraham Erskine's Super Soldier Serum into Steve Rogers, aka Captain America. He also was a very skilled pilot and agreed to fly Captain America and Peggy Carter into enemy territory to release some prisoners of war. After Captain America seemingly died in the freezing ocean, Howard fell into depression and alcoholism, which meant he at times neglected his son, Tony, who in the future would be Iron Man. Howard unintentionally fostered a slight resentment for Captain America in his son because he apparently talked about the patriotic hero all of the time.
Powers, Abilities and Personality: Stark pioneered the groundbreaking repulsor technology that his son would go on to perfect and adapt into suits of armour and even SHIELD helicarriers, even though the technology was originally only meant for making flying cars. Howard was worldly and wise, and was good at putting on a show to market his inventions to the masses. Like Tony Stark, Howard was arrogant and had a fling with alcoholism, but unlike Tony, it's implied that Howard never got over his problem.
