Future Force series
Previously: In her efforts to release the gargoyle demon Gargos into the world, Demona worked with Omen. Omen possessed Jago,
creating Shadow Jago. Moon Knight, under the direction of the Egyptian Moon god Khoufu, battled Shadow Jago while Demona went
on to continue the work of Gargo’s release.
Not knowing what to do with his vanquished foe, Moon Knight called the authorities to pick up Shadow Jago. He looked different now
that he was defeated. His skin tone had changed to a normal complexion rather than the blue that it had been. His face was normal
now, too, the ghoulish features approvingly disappeared.
Among the authorities was Kasper Cole, New York cop with some interesting ties to Wakanda. Moonknight hadn’t looked to deep
into the man because Cole had kind of dropped out of super hero affairs some years before the Super Human Registration Act. The
coming conversation would determine if Cole was being dragged back in.
“You did quite a number on this guy.” Said Cole.
“I had to.” Moon Knight replied. “But if I’m being honest, he was a little banged up before I jumped in.”
“What was this fight all about?” was Cole’s next question.
Not willing to disclose his relationship with the Egyptian moon god- Khonshu, Moon Knight shrugged.
“He had an accomplice.” He decided to volunteer. “Looked like a gargoyle, like the statues on rooftops. Took off before I engaged.
They were fighting each other and then, they stopped and he turned on me while the gargoyle flew away.”
The detective didn’t flinch at the mention of gargoyle. That said a lot. “There’s a warning issued to be on the look out for a female
gargoyle.” He replied. “You just gave us a lead to follow. Can we count of your cooperation?”
The voice of Khonshu whispered in his mind’s ear to say yes.
Moon Knight complied and knew from this point on he wouldn’t be working alone.

She never cared for Omen, so Demona didn’t have a problem leaving him to fight the human. Her own interests warranted that
Omen win, but she wouldn’t mind him taking a few lumps to bruise his superiority complex.
For now, she knew what to do. The preparations had to be completed for Gargo’s release. The spell book which she had stolen from
the Tibetan community had the spell to open a doorway from Gargo’s dimension, but she needed a certain item to support the
ritual.
Considering who owned the item, there may have been a way to negotiate for it, but the gargoyle wasn’t in the mood to talk politely
to humans. She did want to get rid of them after all.
His name was Karl Mordo, a baron out of Europe. His magic was reputed to be awesome, surmounted by his lust for power. These
days Baron Mordo secluded himself in his family estate, no doubt planning a scheme to accomplish his goals.
Leary of his abilities, Demona opted for a stealth based operation. Everything was going well until the amulet that she had used to
communicate with Omen brightened. The herald of Gargos had come back.
“What happened.” She cried.
“The weak vessel failed me!” Omen complained. “You will have to do better.”
“This isn’t my fault!” said Demona. “You said you would take care of that human! I’m about to get the key that will release your
master!”
“Then proceed! Once he is free, I will have no need for a vessel.”
They’re argument triggered Mordo’s mystical alarm. He dispatched a servant to slay the intruders so that he would not be distracted
from his work.
In his mystical endeavors, Baron Mordo visited other realms. He encountered an interesting humanoidish creature which he called
D’vorah. She appeared to be the last of her kind and Mordo took her back with him. She was grateful for his kindness and did all
that he asked of her.
Ending those who would disturb Mordo would be her pleasure.
