Previously: a small band of good aligned individuals set out of defeat a demonic incursion on the world. Jackie Chan, Uncle, Iroh,
Edge Master, Chizuru and Sogetsu learned of the Mace of Tanis and took on Kan-Ra, one of the holders of the Mace.
Kan-Ra had been defeated and Uncle successfully retrieved the undead’s piece of the Mace of Tanis. Now they had to move on to
collecting another piece.
They didn’t know who the covenant holder was, but the Mace’s dark influence was making itself known in central Europe.
Apparently, the evil hadn’t gained the attention of the regional governments but that was because those institutions didn’t know
what to look for. Uncle did.
Jackie finally got a call through to his cousin Kevin Chan. They exchanged adventure stories and coordinated their activities so far as
arranging to meet up.
The Prince of Persia was glad for more allies. After he and Hakan’s skirmish with Kevin Chan and Li Long, they settled their
misunderstanding and even came to discover that they needed to work together. Li Long was a little jaded at being defeated, but
Hakan’s good nature and family values settled him into the alliance.
Now together in central Europe, Iroh and Uncle explained their upcoming mission.
“We still don’t know who has it but another piece of the Mace of Tanis is definitely here.” Uncle told them.
Iroh took over. “Instead of wasting energy and time looking for it, we are going to gain the holders attention, drawing him to us.”
Uncle explained how. “I will use a bit of dark Chi magic. The Mace will recognize it and probably alert its holder to a spell as a new
threat.”
Then Iroh said. “Most likely the covenant holder will send minions to dispose of the threat. We can capture them and get the
answers we need.”
Kevin Chan had a concern. “What if we can’t beat them?”
Iroh answered seriously. “Then we die and hopefully, someone else will step into our place.”

The dark Chi spell that Uncle cast was the most harmless one that he could find. It needed to be strong enough for other practicers
of magic to sense it though, so the spell needed to have some significance.
He summoned a conference with a demon.
In the name of safety, Uncle only allowed Iroh and Chizuru to be present. The others would wait for the expected attack.
*
The holder of the Mace of Tanis sensed the spell immediately.
*
Uncle didn’t even converse with the demon. He summoned it, and turned his back.
Iroh watched with interest. The spawn of the underworld was hideous. It stood nearly twelve feet tall, with wavy needle looking
things that sprouted where a humanoid’s hair would be. The face was… something else. But it was the eyes- as black as they were
glowed of evil and worse. It didn’t move much, but every gesture seemed malicious.
Taking in its surroundings, the demon settled his gaze upon Iroh.
After several minutes of staring Iroh uttered, “Hello.”
“Don’t talk to him!” Uncle snapped.
Iroh shut his trap and the demon chuckled, giving all of them chills.

Outside, Kevin Chan stood with Sogetsu keeping watch.
“I think I hear something.” Kevin Chan said.
“I’ll check it out.” Sogestsu volunteered. He moved out swiftly, his ninja skills impressive to even one as skilled as Kevin.
Within moments, he heard shooting. The sounds brought the others, Jackie, Hakan, Li Long and The Prince of Persia. Soon they
were attacked by a hit squad. They were professional enough, but nowhere near elite. Whoever the Mace holder was, they didn’t
recruit well.
Even without guns of their own, the heroes out-maneuvered and out-fought their enemies. Once they downed them all, they could
question the mercs and find out who their employer was.
Little did they know that that person had accompanied them.
Taria de Castillo watched her hired soldiers fall. But the source of the magic came from beyond them. It came from inside the house
in which they seemed to be guarding.
As the battle wound down, she snuck inside.
Beholding a demon bound, was impressive. Taria was right to come here and kill the mage who could accomplish this. Her quarry
appeared to be an elderly Chinaman. With him was another old man and then a young woman. An assistant and an apprentice
perhaps.
The Chi wizard was too far away to reach quickly, but the other old man, whom she assumed to be an assistant, was within striking
distance.
Iroh was so intrigued by the bound demon that he didn’t notice the imminent danger.
Taria stabbed him in the back, the blade running all the way through.
Chizuru screamed but Uncle couldn’t allow himself to be distracted from the spell. Otherwise the demon would escape and they
would have a much worse problem on their hands.
“Your plan worked Chi wizard Chan.” Chizuru faced off with Taria. “I’ll handle her and then we’ll get General Iroh medical help.”
Fight Parameters:
Taria de Castillo vs. Chizuru to the death.
