For this month's featured character(s) we went with a little nostalgia. Going back to most of our child hoods and focusing on all those great tv shows. At the end of the week, we were left with a team of "TEENAGERS WITH ATTITUDE". The Power Rangers were virtually and unknown entity in the US and almost overnight it was not only a kid show but actually a pop culture icon. The series has gone on to have 21 official seasons. While there have been many memorable moments throughout the 21 seasons we will be focusing on the series that appeared strictly in the 90's through out the month.
(while I know this does not have Tommy in it, for some of you younger members he was not originally on the show)
The Rangers were given their powers by Zordon and he derived those powers from prehistoric animals that had been harnessed into "power coins". When the morphed into their power ranger forms they gained all sorts of power ups. Not to forget the awesome zords they gained when the monsters were magically grown by Rita Repulsa. The each had their own zord but most often they formed together to make the Megazord.
The Original Rangers were so drastically different compared to some of the incarnations you see nowadays. The Power Rangers (for the time) was great at pairing great kid friendly action with character teaching moments. While it might be naive to believe but I feel the Power Rangers truly taught kids great values and responsibilities.
