Throughout history, there have been countless stories of the dead rising, and walking among the living, devouring all that stands in their way. People coming back from the dead and eating other people has been a staple for the horror movie genre for decades. However, this has never happened, zombies have never risen, and the apocalypse has never occurred. Until now. No one really knows what caused the revival of the dead, it just happened. Initial reports of people eating other people were dismissed as "random attacks" and "freak occurrences". That's until a massive outbreak happened, the disease spread over-seas, wreaking havoc over the poorer countries. Soon, Africa had gone black, even the powerful cities of Johannesburg and Cape Town fell. Slowly, the other continents also fell, due to the face that the infected usually were the military personnel. It has been ten years since the United States had gone black. In the ruin of a once great city, a group of survivors have managed to safely secure a building. You're part of the group of survivors. Your mission is to retake Starlit City, and begin to rebuild human civilization. This is, the Starlit City Chronicles.

OK! So, here's my first crack at making a RP, so if I do bad, don't be afraid to let me have it people!
I'll try to be fairly consistent on my updates, daily, maybe every two days, depending if I have to work double shift or not.
Now, the end goal is simple. Take over as much city as you can. The choices your character makes influences the health of a group as a whole, if you do something greedy that benefits you at the moment, it may harm the group in the long run!
Making a character sheet is simple!

*Five cons:
With the pros and cons, please do try to be a little more descriptive. Having "Fighting" as a pro is not specific. "Hand to hand combat" is better. "Experience with small firearms" is perfect!!!
I'll be posting mine soon, to show an example! Thank you!

Interesting. Dunno if I'll have a ton of time to participate if this gets too fast-paced during the schoolyear, but if it extends beyond about Halloween, I should be able to post much more consistently.
Consider this a tentative placeholder.

Name: Othniel "Otto" Yasu Age:28 Avatar image: Bio (Keep it short and sweet):Otto was born in Starlit city, son of Japanese immigrants. Growing up in a more traditional household, he was taught how to follow rules, to be the best he could be. Excelling in school, he soon got bored of his mundane life and found his calling in woodworking. First whittling, then carving, until he became a full blown woodworker. An avid hunting fan, he purchased a Beretta 692 Sporter, one of the cheaper hunting shotguns available to the public. He had begun to work for a woodworking/metalworking company when he first got out of high school. However, it was then when the zombie attack happened. Running home, he found his parents gone, locking himself up in his basement, he survived for years. Surviving on snacks that was salvaged from the local grocery store, he stumbled upon the Pizzeria, where he found a group of survivors huddled up. Joining them, he is now ready to take back Starlit City. Job (Before outbreak): Woodworker/Metalworker Five pros: - Long-Medium range combat (Experience with shotguns.)
- Craftsmanship (Woodworking experience, can make makeshift spears/other wooden weapons.)
- Geographical Advantage (Born and raised in Starlit City, Otto knows the streets.)
- Small Stature (Standing at 5'6, he can crawl into small places, and is quicker than larger men.)
- Antisocial (Can survive for long periods of time being alone, without company.)
*Five cons: - Socially inept (Has trouble communicating, feels weird about larger crowds.)
- Couch Potato (Out of shape, cannot stay active for really long periods of time)
- Weak at close range combat (Due to his fear of being bitten, he hesitates in attacking head on.)
- Close-minded (Not creative, is a follower, not a leader.)
- Nearsighted (Needs his glasses to see far, without them, he can only see things that are close by.)

Ok! Added Zombie types now. I know it's kind of tacky, but it also adds a strategic edge to the normal zombie survival scenario! Zombie types:
Regular Zombie: Regular, not much to describe about them. Strength in their overwhelming numbers. A shot to the head will equal death. Fast Zombies: These zombies are extraordinarily quick, and tend to run towards their target. Usually ahead of a pack due to their sheer speed, easy to take out. Fat Zombies: These zombies have extra protecting due to be fat/obese before turning. One of the slowest variety, they attack slowly, but are harder to eliminate due to their fat. Screech Zombies: Their vocal cords having been damaged by the virus, these zombies emit a high pitched screech, which attracts other zombies.
Muscle Zombies: Extremely muscular due to being fit in while being human. Zombie has exceptional strength, which is amplified by the Zombie virus. Muscles are hard to penetrate with close range weapons.

No, they're from video games, I just remove/added some stuff in photoshop, and gave it a "stroke" filter to add the black outline!

Name: Ishmael Burns Age: 39 Avatar image: Bio: "You know, ten years ago, I was all set for the world. Everything was in the palms of my hands. My job kept me living, I had a beautiful following in my church; truly, wonderful people. I had many friends, but now I have two." Ishmael shook his hand with a knowing smile as he patted the holsters on his bandolier. "But my hands are not God's hands, and the world changed because He sought to test us. Test me. Now my only objective is to succeed in His name." "You see, the world before all this," he motioned to the desolate-but-cleared city block around him, "was filled with sin and as a result, as it describes in Revelation, the dead rise." He stood up. "And that's why everyone has to learn how to use weapons. So we can pass His test." Job (Before outbreak): Priest *Five pros: -Ten years' experience with dual .45 caliber pistols, is an incredibly skilled marksman with them. -Hopeful and a great orator (even secularly if he has to) -Charismatic (in the event of distrustful survivor encounters this might come in handy) -Fast runner with good endurance (ten years of cardio) -Knowledgeable on zombie enemies (weaknesses, things/places to avoid, etc) (ten years of observation and avoidance) *Five cons: -Physical strength only average, he doesn't exactly spend any free time lifting weights -Close-minded when it comes to his religion (he can tolerate those of other religions, even secular people, but people who take a different view on Christianity might as well be apostates to him) TO BE FINISHED BECAUSE I'M TIRED

Name: Alexander Zaine Cross (Alex) Age: 24
Bio (Keep it short and sweet): Alex was just a kid when this all started... How could he have ever been prepared? His parents died within the first week of the outbreak, leaving their two boys stranded in Baltimore City. Alex had been the youngest at 14. His brother, Malcolm, had just turned 18. Neither of them really knew what to do. They tried to get out of Baltimore, but every time they tried the zombies had them cornered. So the brothers hid... After a year of hiding, salvation came in the form of the Zombie Hunters. 300 strong, they saved who they could and cleared all of Baltimore. Unfortunately, the Hunters had lost over half their people and Alex had lost Malcolm. Alex was sure that his brother survived, but had no way of knowing as the Hunters that had saved him were moving on to a new location, with or without Alex. Alex made the choice to join them... He left Baltimore, and possibly his brother, behind as he went on to become a Zombie Hunter, so that one day he would be strong enough to come back for Malcolm and show him how brave he was. Eventually... Alex gave up on that idea. Over the years, the Hunter's numbers depleted, meaning that Alex's presence was needed with the group at all times. He adopted their ideals of a world rid of zombies and became a weapon that could do that. He became one of them. But after 5 long years, Alex would abandon his post, abandon the Hunters for the sake of a girl named Terryn. It was her that showed him how to be human again and since then they have traveled side-by-side, searching for a place to call home. Job (Before outbreak): No job before outbreak. Has been a Zombie Hunter for the past five years. Five pros:
-Proficient in Hand-to-Hand combat -Excellent skill with most firearms, short blades, long blades, and one-handed weapons(axes or blunt weapons) -Due to experience as a Zombie Hunter, he has proficiency in fortified defenses (aka. defending an area) and effective protection against zombie attacks (bites) -Basic medical skills -Physically fit from combat Five cons:-Doesn't speak up for himself (quiet) -Right Prosthetic leg from the knee down (Has had for over two years, is made of a metal alloy) -Puts other people's lives before his own (way too self-sacrificy) -Goes too far when fighting zombies (will clear an area that is unnecessary just so he can rid the world of zombies) -Is possessive of his group (especially those he is close to)

Ok, so seeing as this is moving along nicely, as we have 4 characters ready, and I'm sure more will join, let's establish some ground rules So, this is Starlit City: A medium-large city, think Detroit, infection spread fast. The city was lost 3 years after the initial outbreak, police forces were overwhelmed due to the unbalanced ratio of Law Enforcement to Citizens. Guns are low, due to strict anti-gun bills that were put into order shortly before the outbreak. More will be revealed later, but for now this is it These are the RULES!1) Infection: The general rule of infection is by mixing bodily fluids. Getting bit, drooled into, french-kissed, infected open wound, blood in eyes, ect, ect. 2) Rations: Food/Water will matter in this RP. It's not going to be too strict, but after a certain period, your character will begin to feel the effects of being dehydrated/starving. 3) Noise: Noise, such as loud gunshots, will attract zombies, so try to keep it quiet. That's all for now! Any questions, feel free to ask!
