To whomever finds this journal, I am sorry. I am sorry for dragging you down this treacherous path. I am sorry to have failed you. And my colleagues. The fact that you have found this book is proof that I have fallen short of your trust. But whats worst, I have ensured your demise; or worse......
Within you will find a story most grim, a story with no happy ending. No miracle. You will read a horrid truth; and you will regret ever finding this retched thing. But enough of my gloomy musings. Read my brethren, read this your last lullaby.
This is the testimony of Johann Weiss; an Inquisitor of the Apogee Guild. Here I log my quest into the Empty Order under the command of the Apogee Council.
Before me stands Little Lovecraft. A dark dreary town rife with the smell of dark magicks and the like. Of course the sullen atmosphere that abounds could be because of nights shadow. Finding the Order will be difficult amidst the smog of the arcane, but not impossible.
The townspeople seem to vary from human to even lesser djinn, but all share the same dark aura; save a few members of the Angelic Orders; best if I avoid them lest they inquire about my presence here. I've been advised by a few allies of the guild that live in this town that the Empty Order have a few lodges here but that no one knows where their temple resides. Which lowered my spirits since the Temple is why I came to this horrid town to begin with.
As I walked amongst the denizens of Little Lovecraft, I could feel their weary eyes rake over me as if to inspect my very soul. If they bore any ill will towards me I could not tell, for even the happiest of them dripped with a sinister tinge. But alas, I've suffered worst spirits before. If I am to find the Empty Temple and smite the priest of the Hollow Rift, I cannot let such things weaken my resolve; for the Hollowed Ones have no mercy.
