Results!
You're all winners to me, but only one of you goes home with the coveted Deo point, even though I don't know what it does. Therefore, in no particular order are the runner-ups.
Marie La'Trobe by Darkender: Good solid character. There was a decent amount of scene setting in spite of the word limit. However, the premise was a little off from the christmas prompt, which didn't disqualify it, but was a quality I was looking for.
Merristopheles by Nihlz: I perhaps liked the idea of this one the most, as a demonic clause sounds cool, but it seemed really hectic. Other grammatical and polishing issues made it hard to give you the prize.
Operation SAINT by Kevindwolf: The idea was unique, and the writing was pretty solid, though occasionally too expositional. But it seems we spend all the time with the guys in the control room and not the robots who are out doing stuff.
and the winner is...
The Chimney by Bergy: I liked all the ideas this time around, but what sold me on this was the voice. It didn't seem hampered by the word limit and it feels like you got everything out that you wanted.
Congratulations! You win bragging rights. Everyone else, if you wish to assassinate the new crowned king, then next months challenge may be just right for you!

Yes of course, the sack full of spiders approach. Pretty sneaky. You hit the nail on the head deo, thats what happens when you give yourself 36 hours and hope to have character dynamic carry it. Oh well, hard won fight this round berg, maybe i can make something bigger out of the idea. For my next trick...zzzzz.
