The Tribune is an editorial newspaper that takes in stories from any comers within the city. It's centralized on 2000 Lomb Street in Reach City and run by the no-nonsense, sharp as a whip Cara Steele: a young woman who clawed her way to the top of her field at the relatively early age of 27.
The Tribune prides itself on being a voice for the voiceless. It's something of a public blog for the people of Reach City. It's a literary finger on the collective pulse of the masses, separated into discrete stories and then disseminated through the city once a month. Any one is accepted as a writer, from government officials, to known felons, to 19 year old college kids discovering their powers at the local university.
The Editing staff at the Tribune works hard, taking in information and moulding it to the standards that The Reach City Tribune is known for. Hard working men and women toil around the clock, going through dozens of red pens a week: editing, re-editing, and re-re-editing.
Here: Some of the Tribune's stories are collected. Any questions about the Tribune can also go in this thread or, PM directly to me. (Hopefully you guys write some too)
The form is:
Headline Author Name Text of the Story.

Hero Night at the Brittlebones Miranda Knotts
"It all started one night when we just wanted some coffee," says a masked Captain Frostbite "We just got to talking and Chandra was just such a sweet lady."
Every Friday for almost a year now, Agents of AEGIS have been holding a meet and greet at the Brittlebones Cafe on Chauncey St. between 3rd and 4th. Our city's intrepid protectors sit down for a cup of Joe and pleasant conversation with the citizens. This reporter spent a half an hour drinking a tall vanilla bean latte and talking to Baron Blunder about his cat. It's a three year old Maine Coon named "Daisy" and she's doing very well, if you were wondering.
"After the first week, we just wanted to come back next week. Word traveled around AEGIS and, uh, more and more people started to come down. It's something of a rite of passage for new kids coming into AEGIS. After a couple of missions, they'll swing by Brittlebones."
The Brittlebones Cafe almost didn't happen. Chandra Arakhan, better known as Granny Brittlebones put her life savings into opening a cafe after receiving a diagnosis of osteoporosis. The name of the cafe, which soon became Arakhan's own pseudonym, is her lionhearted effort to find joy in the debilitating disease.
In an interview this reporter did with Granny Brittlebones, she said, " I've always wanted to open a cafe since I was a little girl. When I got the diagnosis, I figured I'd go for it. It was rough for the first few months, but everything seems fine now." When asked about the possibility of her osteoporosis being cured, Arakhan smiled and said, "Well see what the Lord has in store."
It's one of the hidden joys of Reach City. This reporter encourages you, if you're interested at all in AEGIS, check out Brittlebones Cafe on Friday nights

We Did It Tribuners Vaughn Sterling
Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to be in AEGIS; I never missed an interview of any AEGIS member and my favorite show was the Acolyte Show. I remember pretending that was a new rising member of AEGIS being introduced to the world for the first time by the AEGIS spokesma Sir Albion. And although everyone had their favorite be it Bloodgust or Ms.Mana because of some cool power or the fact that they just premiered on the Acolyte Show, my favorites were the Tribunal; Legatus, Raiko and Dr.Aether. My favorite of the three was Dr.Aether, not because of her power or the fact the was on the tribunal, but because she was and still is the first and only member of the tribunal who was not a metahuman. She was human born homunculus making her the first magical being to be given the rank of Tribunal member.
So you can understand my excitement as a young warlock when I was told I'd be given the chance to interview her on the anniversary of her promotion to the Tribunal. Well guess what Tribuners? Thanks to your votes it's happening. Yep, on Friday I will be interviewing the Mistress Of Alchemy herself. So prepare yourself because next week you'll be reading the most in-depth interview of all time. This wouldn't be possible without you guys so I'm going to give you the chance to email me questions to ask her. So get on it guys get typing and remember, without us, there is no news.

The Reigns Of The Reach: Introduction Andrew Mcdonis
La Cosa Nostra, Yakuza, The Triad, Bratva, Camorra; without explanation you should already know what this article will be about by reading a couple of those names. If you don't know, ask anyone sitting near you and they'll either tell you that those are some of the biggest crime syndicates in the world or a few of the most influential member groups of Argus (That's if they don't give you dirty looks after which they promptly walk away from you or call the authorities.).
Now many of you might be wondering why I left out Reach City's very own crime syndicate the infamous Quinctus or how they're more popular known, the Five Reigns. Well I haven't, in fact this entry will be a first in a series focusing on the five "Regnum" or "Houses" that make up the powerful syndicate.
So I'm sorry readers but this week you won't be getting any of my witty musings or tales of my bombastic exertions, nope, this week will be an short "introduction" to a series I'll be doing for the next five weeks called The Reigns of The Reach. So lets get this obligatory (Thanks editors.) introduction out of the way shall we!
The current Houses of Quinctus are; The House of Pandora arguably the worlds largest alchemy cartel; The House of Enki, one of the oldest pirate organizations in history; The House of Megiddo, Reach Cities first black market arms dealers; The House of Lovecraft, a syndicate controlled and consisting of those born from or trained in the arcane and the occult. Although they function internationally its base is located in Little Lovecraft; The House of Fulgin, gambling, drugs, human trafficking you name it this organization has both hands and a foot in it. Using various legitimate businesses to cover their activities this organization is on par with the Yakuza and Sicilian mafia in terms of their level of integration within politics and business.
The first House I managed to get access to was the House of Lovecraft, so next week I will be bringing to you the hair raising stories managed to gather from The Reaches darkest and perhaps scariest crime syndicate; The House of Lovecraft.

There have been many versions of the story regarding James Lucas’s death, and we here have took it upon ourselves to objectively list the known facts of the case for those unfamiliar with the incident and following events.
On December 12th, a five year veteran of Reach City PD named Simon Cruz stopped an 18-year-old male meta, named James Lucas, for a possible robbery in the low income neighborhood known as the Foundry. The officer knew Lucas was meta, and had had run ins with him before. According to the officer, after the stop, Lucas became aggressive, and Lucas raised his hand in an attempt to fire a sonic boom towards him. Lucas’s friends and family would later claim that he did not even have the ability to fire sonicbooms from his hands, and could only use his powers via his voice. Some witnesses affirm the officers story; others claim Lucas raised his hands to surrender. He was shot twelve times.
After two weeks of protests by the meta community, at 7pm on December 31st, New Years Eve, Officer Cruz was not indicted for manslaughter under the belief that he had a valid claim of self defense and could not have known what the limits of Lucas’s powers were.
At sometime between 12:00 and 1:00 New Years Day, two Reach City Officers, Marshall Langwood and Karen Hotch, were attacked while on a falsified domestic disturbance call in The Foundry. They had suffered from an accelerated version of the Black Death; the leading theory was that it was an intentional homicide, caused by a Meta with the power of disease manipulation.
That night the city rioted. Conservative estimates suggest somewhere between 12-15 hundred people took to the streets. Some Metas began to rally to defend their own from wild accusations, while the so called ‘purists’ took to the street to demonstrate against them. Reach City claims it did all it could to keep violence in hand, but their presence was minimal in the Foundry where the destruction was greatest. Critics have argued that too much manpower was focused on Governors Island and Uptown.
During the Crisis Aegis is sent its heroes, Meta and normal, in attempts to calm the possible storm. They state, without police collaboration, that the deaths of officers Langwood and Hotch were the acts of an unnamed meta-supremicist group. They also stated that these acts should not be taken as the intent of the meta community at large.
If you have an opinion regarding the controversy, feel free to leave a comment below.

Aegis Spokesperson Denies President Wynn’s Claim of Increased Crime and Meta-Involved Violence in Reach City.
At 11:03 a senior Aegis official rebuked the new American President’s suggestions of increased meta involved violence in Reach City. Speaking from the hallowed halls of the Aegis Citadel headquarters, the organization’s public relations minister Sarah Knowles, formerly known as the hero Ferrous Ferret, delivered a statement on behalf of the Reach Chapter of Aegis.
She stated that “the repeated accusations of lawlessness and implications of increased meta involved violence are not based on any facts known to Aegis,” and that “by both our estimates and those of the Reach City Police Department, the crime rate in the city has been dropping consistently since 2007.” Mrs. Knowles acknowledged a slight increase in the meta-involved violence rate for January of this year compared to January 2016, but noted that the rate in 2017 was only 6% higher, and not indicative of any suggested trend.
Mrs. Knowle’s statements are contrary to statements made by President Wynn during a press conference he held on Friday. While speaking to the press regarding his recent executive order 7819, which would revive the long dead ‘meta-human security committee”, the President extolled the necessity of his measures in order to prevent an increase in crime and made reference to Reach City.
“When you look at the dangers these people can cause, I mean really look at it, its unacceptable. You look at places like Reach. It’s a hellhole. People in Reach live in fear just walking down the street because of these meta-criminals. Crime is out of control because these, bad guys, can do whatever they want and their government is too afraid to call them out on it. I just saw a study, that meta-crimes are up twenty or thirty percent, maybe even more, since last year.”
Other Reach officials including the Mayor of Reach City and the City Police Commissioner have already dismissed the American President’s claims. Still, the statement by Aegis this morning marks the first time the vigilante security group has commented on anything stated by the often-controversial American president. By way of response, following the publication of Knowles’ statement, President Wynn tweeted, “Reach is in trouble because of Meta Criminals and Aegis won’t do anything about it. Not in my America!” He soon followed that tweet with another stating, “Aegis doesn’t belong in politics. If they can’t keep people safe, what good are they. Focus on the Bad Guys!”

Subterranean Rumblings in the Inkwell District Excite and Unseat Residents
At approximately 7:30 in the evening, the Inkwell district began to shake. At first, many residents believed it to be an earthquake. Such assertions have been since debunked by local Seismologist Urkel Moskowitz. Dr. Moskowitz claims that an earthquake underneath the Inkwell District would have to have taken place an unprecedented 30 miles from the nearest fault line.
Damages are minimal. None of the citizens were hurt, but some are suffering odd psychological effects. One such citizen, Lou Bagel, said in an interview, "I dunno. I just feel... like... renewed. Like I been sleeping for so long and suddenly I'm awake again.
Investigators are still searching for the source of this anomaly. But one thing's for certain, things have been shaken up.
