Joel followed the group, sticking close to them, while still guarding the rear. It was a good idea avoiding the school, it probably was, like the rest of this country, chuck full of zombies or crazy gang members.
"Heh heh." He laughed to himself, he never though he'd be part of a group like this.

Archer pulled out a stashed tall bottle of rum and started chugging between steps. "Plus if anything happens we have the decoy body you're carrying." |

General: "Well gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news. Good news is you are closing in on the research center. It is among a cluster of buildings just on the other side of the airport. The Bad news has levels though. 1. We have not heard from Dr. Grey and can't find her by satellite. Our best guess is she is gone. In normal circumstances, I would say we go after her last location but we can't spare the time. 2. I don't know what is attracting them but the heard is moving parallel to your position down the main streets and headed close to the airport on your 3 o'clock. 3. We have detected tons of movement around the airport. It seems to be undead but we can't tell because they dont exactly look to be humanoid shapes. Now as far as Sam goes, as long as he doesn't cause you all to be in danger; bring him with you. HEADS UP!!! WE ARE GETTING MOVEMENT ON YOUR 9 O'CLOCK! YOU HAVE 2 FIGURES MOVING AT A RAPID PACE ACROSS THE ROOFTOP OF THE SCHOOL! THEY WILL BE ON YOU IN 1 MIN!"  As the General cut transmission a scraping noise could be heard as if clawed hands were moving through gravel. Suddenly two bloody figures lunged from the roof. Claws glinted in the moonlight. As the figures landed, one lashed out and hit Snake. The force if the hit made Snake loose his grip on Sam. The other looked towards Spooner and a long whip like tongue lashed towards him trying to grab his ankle. PLAYGROUND:

Snake taking evasive action throws the zombie-like creature off of him on to the step ladder in the lefthand corner of the picture. Quickly pulling out his M9, he shoots the a couple of times

Upon the General's warning, Spooner kept his sidearm at the ready. When the sounds of scratching claws rang through the air, he turned his attention toward the school rooftop and aimed, ever vigilant. "What the hell?!" It was dark, but he could make it talons and grotesque brain matter, exposed.
As the beasts landed, he'd almost involuntarily find his mechanical arm pulling the trigger and unloading half a clip into the thing's eyeless face, while a tongue lashed out. He did his best to sidestep without sacrificing accuracy, something he had a decent amount of experience with.

"Crap. What type of infected are these?" Joel would mutter under his breath. Quickly sprinting over to the fallen Sam, he would scoop him up in one hand, and throw him under the bridge. Turning around, he would pull out his Assault Rifle, and fire at the one that was interested in Spooner. Hopefully, with it being distracted, he'd manage to hit it once or twice.

The Licker recoiled from the bullets but didnt go down. It lashed out with its claws towards the source of its pain. (The Chekov) Its arms opened wide as it lunged.
The other Licker tangling with Spooner wrapped its slimy tongue around his robotic arm and tugged trying to pull him to the ground. As it pulled it took a quick swipe at Joel and Archer who were standing close by.
As the commotion from the fight echoed through the area, undead began to climb out of the school. Others began to filter through the woods from the large herd that was following before.
