There were some initial issues, but the hashtag plugin is now officially in working order. For anyone who wants to create hashtags, just add the "#" symbol, without spaces, right next to the word or phrase you want to tag.
I.E.: # + Batman = [HASH]Batman
If you want to place more than one word into a tag, either combine them into one word or place the "_" symbol between the words.
I.E.: # + Cowboy Bebob = [HASH]Cowboy_Bebop
Keep in mind, though, that the "#" symbol will create a tag out of whatever its typed right next to, so if you want to avoid this, put a space between the "#" symbol and the character next to it.
I.E.: # 1, # 3, # 5
Thank you.

Heh. Yeah, I think I already encountered this, when talking about Derek Jeter, in the Sports thread. Should I go back and put a space between # & 2, or is it not that big a deal?

Yep, and the same goes for anyone else that's also typed out the same; otherwise, a hashtag will be created.

Well, there's bad news about the hashtag plugin. Ever though it's been several months since the function was first installed, the hashtags still haven't been working as they should, so I went ahead and turned off the plugin. It may be some time before we start looking into getting them working right again. Sorry.
