Anybody remember the Mecha Guignol Chronicles, the forum that Landon created that was to eventually become the "new" FPL when EF went down? Well, its link is down at the moment. chronicle.mecha-guignol.com/forum/index.phpTo this day, I have no idea why the forum became barren in the last half year or so, but that may be a factor into why the link is down, and it's possible that Landon may have even shut the forum down. For those that still want to catch Landon's insight into the anime/manga scene, though, not to worry. The Mecha Guignol site itself is still apparently alive and well: mecha-guignol.com/

It was never officially shut down as far as I know, though it has been infested with bots. We all tried really hard to make it work, but there weren't quite enough people posting regularly and it lost all steam. At least that's how I remember it.

I think the lack of regular posting and swarms of bots effectively stopped the site. I'd be ready to join the fpl in whatever reincarnation it may take though.

That died shortly after it started. We mostly just chat every blue moon on Facebook. I think Tarvius keeps up with everybody the most.

Unfortunately, I wasn't around, when all this was going down.. I would have advised you guys, not to split up. Half the community going one way, and half the other... It's better, if we stick together, and try to rebuild.

It's better, if we stick together, and try to rebuild. The same can be said for what's going on here, though to a lesser degree. I'm going to have to start advertising for this site! Our regulars have become drifters that wander into purgatory only to never return, except just to look. What's the point of that?

Heh. True. I've just assumed they talk about things, in those chat rooms of theirs, and don't feel as much of a need to post.
I thought advertising might help, too. But if they're already coming here, and simply not posting, I'm not so sure..

But if they're already coming here, and simply not posting, I'm not so sure.. Personally, I feel all that talk has led to a state inaction, if indeed it is the chat rooms that are attracting the majority. You make a good point though, I see people log on and settle for minimal to zero activity. I'm tempted to move to comicvine, despite my crowd averting mentality. As a matter of fact...

Yeah, I've considered the same thing, myself, actually. Mostly, I just play and talk about games, though. So, I don't know if another comic book forum, would be a good fit for me.. And I only joined EF, when a real life friend invited me. Getting involved with a new community, may be a difficult process, when I won't know anyone. Though, now that I think about it, I don't even think I posted much(if at all) on EF, outside of the CBUB match section, for awhile there, in the beginning. Or I could just start a blog, and post my video game ramblings there. Hmm..

Personally, I like to dabble here and there. And every now and then I'll throw out a chunk of thought into each section I come across. I mean, humorous rambling is fun and all, but... It might be hard for me to move too, but's it's more difficult by far staying idle. I can't really leave, too much sentimental value. But I will seek my jollies elsewhere, like a straying husband... Not the best of examples. If a blog is your calling, go for it!

Lol. I feel the same way. I won't leave; just wondering if I should do something else, on the side. Compared to my posting on the old EF(8,740 o.O), it makes me feel like there isn't nearly as much going on here.. Think that was over a 2 and a half year span. I've already been here a year, and my posting really pales, in comparison.

I adopted my post count, did you choose not to? Had I not, I have a feeling my post count would be about the same as yours. I feel like the only real options are to stray, I'm tired, bored and tired of being bored.

Yeah, I just decided to start over, when joining here. Thought it might look weird, having it say I had that many posts, and my post history showing otherwise. ^^'

I never thought about it like that until now; I saw it as a reminder of where I came from... Kinda feels like I took the essence of the history with me. But I see where you're coming from, it is something of an inconsistency to "true-news".
