Many other sites feature a character for each month. They tell little known facts. Place them in matches they are equal and challenging. The sometimes provide details on the character's comic series or comic appearances.
What would others think about each month featuring one member at a time, featuring a character for the month? That member could share info and create rumbles or official matches for the characters.
We could designate a handful of members or actually give all members the chance to present there favorite or a lesser known character and bring them into the spotlight.
The only real trouble we would have with all members being allowed is making sure a character isnt used more than once without an extensive period between uses.

I like this idea actually. Maybe we should put some fire behind this. One thing CBUB did that was cool was like challenges and stuff each month. Putting a spotlight on a different character each month, that's something new and exciting!
Spring-boarding off this idea, maybe having a Member-A-Month thing would be cool. At the end of each month, we choose a member whom has shined brightest or wrote some amazing stuff. We could make it into a friendly competition to get members involved and maybe a prize?
Just an idea...

What, you mean like just now? I think the monthly character idea is a pretty good one. Not sure about the member a month thing, but recognition is always cool for things we've wrote.

Just realized the message I sent dskillz didn't go through.
Basically I was saying we could use a character of the month, people could take turn writing the article or just a select few could create articles. The character would have an intro page the would give a simple overview about the characters (powers, personality, high and low points, and there writer could add in some of his own opinions where its reasonable)
During the month small articles could be written about the characters best stories, and update on the character in current series, and a EVEN match per week to be voted on.
During the course of the month, a poll will be provided to vote among 5 or 6 other characters for the following month

I was going to pick the first and provide the articles and battles for the first month. After the first month I would look for volunteers that would like to write the intro article and other articles throughout the month.
On the same day the character is presented a poll will also be presented for 5 characters to be voted upon for the next month. My idea of the characters to be voted on would be to simply pick 5 characters or to ask people to provide characters they would like featured and take the first 5 different responses. My plan is to try and get more abstract characters than say superman, iron man, etc. I would like to use characters that are known but not talked about as much, like Nightcrawler, Red Hood, Gambit, Agent Venom, Green Arrow, etc.

Yeah. Once it is officially approved by the admin I will start the first character and through member recommendation 5 characters will be chosen and voted upon for the next month

Does it always have to be comic book characters? I love the idea, but I would like to talk about characters from other forms of media too.

it wouldn't have to be just comic characters but the character would need to be someone well enough known to have some sort of wiki link or readily accessible info on them to look over. Comic characters just seem to have the most source material to go over.
