So is anyone going? I've got a pass for all 4 days (today being the second) and was wondering if any of you were going to be there to meet up or something. I can post pictures later in the image boards.

No Sheena(or other Tales characters)? I am disappoint. Who's the blond, in the overcoat, supposed to be? You took close to, if not, 20 pics of her. o.O Some highlights, and she could have rocked a Milla outfit:

And if you are referring to this beautiful woman: Then that's Miss Macross. And I took waaaay more than 20 pictures of her. She's actually pretty nice, I took two pictures with her. In that coat she's supposed to be Sylvia from No More Heroes, in her yellow dress and purple wig she's Creamy Mami, and in the short white dress she's Catherine from Catherine.EDIT: Unless I counted wrong, I took 63 pictures of her. And about a minute of video of her.

Actually, now that I've posted here I'll take a minute to talk about things other than the hot girls. Because the hot girls will come later. (I am so smrt with my puns). Instead, I'll just mention things that I noticed at AX and in other conventions (I've been to 3 AX cons counting this one, and 1 Comikaze).
Body Oder Now, I don't want to go into too much detail here but I will anyway. Anime Expo smells. It probably isn't all due to unwashed fatty neckberds (though I'm positive those types were there). The thing is that it's been sorta hot here in LA the past few days and the registration lines were long. Day 1 I was in line for 3 HOURS in the hot LA sun, lots of people don't account for the heat and the sweat they'll build up simply waiting in line, combine this with thousands of other people waiting in line with your for hours on end and even the outside lines will start to get a stank going on. Luckily I sorta did better in this regard since I've spent some time in Mexico during summer and I wore cologne - a side note, I wonder how some guys have not discovered the wonders of cologne and think deoderant alone is enough to prevent bad body odor. The next 3 days I specifically made it a point to carry deodorant and cologne in my backpack to reapply after a few hours.
The thing is, I don't think the smell was anyone's fault, nor do I want to sound like I'm making fun of the type of people who go to cons - though again, I am sure there were a few people who don't bathe anyway - the fault was in the hot sun, the hilariously long lines and the fact that, despite LA Convention Center's best efforts to keep the entire place air conditioned, thousands people in summer are going to inevitably smell up a place. I heard the estimated people attending were 180 thousand, so imagine that mix in the air after a bit.
Weird mental state I notice how the whole sense of community in the place makes people act in ways that they probably wouldn't, or at least I noticed that with myself. Normally I'm pretty shy around girls, I can talk and act myself around them, but I'd never be forward enough to call a girl I've never met pretty, or ask her for her picture, or blatantly stare at her when she's wearing nothing but a bikini and make eye contact with her and continue to stare. But clearly in a convention I can do all of that, the photo album is proof enough. It's also slightly odd because of course taking pictures of girls in cosplay is expected, they themselves also know that lots of guys are going to take their pictures, but the odd thing is that I took pictures of at least 4 girls who were not in cosplay. One of the clerks asked me why I wanted her picture, "Because you're pretty." I replied. So I get her picture and a "Thank you for asking" in return.
Which leads me to:
You should try flirting. If there ever was a time to flirt with a girl, it was then and there. I flat out tell a girl I want her picture because she's pretty and she accepts and tells me "Thank you for asking." with a smile. That right there is some bad romance comedy stuff, and I should have followed up on it.
That day, as I was coming back home, I realized that next year if such an opportunity presents itself I am going to try to go for it.
I also realized that I should pack my own food. I live like 15 minutes from Anime Expo, storing food would be no big deal for me and paying $6 for a small cup of lemonade is insane.

Didn't realize those all were the same girl; just saw the 20 pics in a row, of the same outfit. ^^' And ah, I've never played that, so that would explain why it wasn't ringing any bells. I know Catherine, though. Fun game. Too bad about the Yuri cosplayer.

Actually, I've never played that game either, in fact the first time I saw that cosplay I thought she was doing a Star Wars cosplay, because she had a beam sword prop that, at least in the image I saw, looked like a lightsaber in the angle she held it. And yeah, because it was pretty good. I've only ever once seen a Rita cosplay, which sucks because her and the elf-girl are my favorite girls from Vesperia.

Lol. Killer is Dead, will be my first Suma51 game. If I like it, maybe I'll try to track down No More Heroes, since it's available on the PS3, as well.
I liked Estelle a lot, too. Great cast of characters. That one, Abyss, and Symphonia are generally hailed as the best Tales games. Symphonia, usually, getting the most votes. Abyss is the only one, that I cried at the end of, though, so it's still my fav. Not that I was bawling or anything, but I'll admit a tear escaped my eye. Funny, the main girl's name actually is Tear.. Interesting.
Surprised, there's no Xillia cosplayers. Considering the game's the newest entry, you'd figure some people would want to dress up, as some of them. They're not as big as I thought they were, though. Read somewhere, they were excited that it sold a million copies, worldwide. Which has only been done 3 times, with Symphonia, Xillia, and I forget the other one. :/

That's pretty low isn't it? A million copies sold worldwide is... a really small portion of the market.

Yeah, compared to say, Call of Duty, which gets over 17 millions sales... Seems to be enough, that they're profitable, I guess, or they'd probably quit making them. But yeah, I thought they sold a lot better than that, in Japan, at least. If this chart's fairly accurate, that doesn't seem to be the case. They do sell more, over there, but not to the degree, I would have expected. Xillia, here, was close to 300k, if I recall correctly. That's about half of Japan's sales, at that time(topic's about six months old, though).

Glad to hear you had a good time Ruinus. I'm probably going to head to a similar event in New Orleans or Atlanta this year.
And yeah man, definitely a time to flirt. Enjoy your youth and revel in it!

Of course, I mean what better time to try to get dates? And I'm planning to go to Comikaze this year too, I just have to get the money together to pay for the tickets first and then start saving up for actual spending money during the con. EDIT: By the way, are any of you having trouble seeing my Facebook album?

Comikaze 2014I completely forgot to upload this. And I am certain that the camera that I used still has like 15+ minutes of video, but I can't find that camera anymore.
