Just started playing guitar (accoustic) and was curious if anyone on the forum already played?

I play guitar, though I'm probably somewhere in the beginner levels of expertise - maybe reaching "Hey can play pretty good if he plays only the one song he knows really well".

It was a bit harder for me though, since I play left handed - but the first guitar I owned was a right handed guitar. So I basically spent the first few months learning how to play songs "upside down" as it where.

Just restring it. It's probably harder than it sounds. I'm sure you could take it into a guitar shop and they could do it for you. I've been playing semi-seriously for about 4 years now. I can do a few nifty tricks here and there. Nothing major.

Nah, I gave that acoustic guitar away to a cousin who was visiting. She mentioned that she loves guitars and wanted to start playing but her parents couldn't afford one for her. It was a righty guitar, I didn't use the acoustic one that much (I have a lefty electric) so boom, gave it to her on the spot.

Quick question to you two, what guitar songs do you guys recommend learning? I'm not asking for any stairway to heaven level type songs, but maybe a bit more challenging than Kumbaya.

Reptilia by the Strokes is pretty easy, so is Paranoid by Black Sabbath, though both of them have somewhat challenging solo parts. Black Sabbath's Iron Man is also pretty easy to figure out.
I think an easy video game song is Blue Water, Blue Sky from the Guilty Gear XX franchise. You could probably find the tabs for it online.
Also Black Magic by Slayer is pretty easy too - at least everything except the solo. All it is is a fast tempo, so it'd probably help you build speed.

Dirty Paws by Of Monsters and Men helps you with finger picking. Time of your Life by Green Day helps out there too. New Slang by The Shins has a really easy solo that can help other facets of playing.
