Do you still have to use Wikipedia articles for character info? And what kind of characters can you upload? Can you write your own character bios?

Good to see you made you way here, potter. We'll probably be making a full tutorial on the Database and its profiles soon-ish, but as for your questions: - No, Wikipedia's not necessarily needed as a profile link here, and sometimes it doesn't have full pages dedicated to certain characters. On this site we really just look for three good links and a copyright/official site (and no, copyright sites and official sites aren't always the same thing). Wikipedia was only necessary on the CBUB because serge/Fox made it something a hub link for submitting character profiles. It is, however, a very good place to start looking for info on characters, which I'm guessing is why serge/Fox made it said hub link. - We still need to decide on exactly what types of characters should and shouldn't be given profiles here, but so far we've pretty much been sticking to CBUB's model. It's pretty certain we won't be allowing terrorists. hate groups, etc., though.[/common sense] - Well, as for write up our own bios, so far we've been copy/pasta'ing from links on characters for the profile bios, but we've had to add something every now and then when the info in said links was lacking.

For the sake of tradition I still post it in, but it isn't a requirement for everyone else. - To preference this 2nd point too, although Bonnie/Clyde are criminals, and thus dubious for their actions, their pop culture significance landed them a spot. In other cases, Zargoza, Richard I, etc., it was their historical actions or the tales that are associated with them which landed them their spots. And although I really want to re-add in Carol I of Romania, I know that he is not that much of a pop culture figure because he's only been portrayed in three films. All of those in Romanian too. - Yeah bios,.... what can we say? Eventually we'll get around to creating our own, but right now for clarity's sake, we're mostly copy/pasta'ing the text for A) place holder value, and B) convenience. Perhaps we will discuss the bio issues when the site becomes even more active. Side note: I do wish I could add Carol I, mainly because I have interest in doing some alternative history stories with him. Pseudo-fan-fiction as it were, or reality fiction, whichever sounds better.
