I rather liked 3, but could take or leave 2.

Jurassic Park 2 ain't as bad as everyone says it is, in my opinion. It does a decent job of developing and expanding upon Malcolm's character by seemingly making him the only sane man on Isla Sorna instead of the somewhat awkward jokester he was in the first film. Not to mention the fact that the T. rex attack on the big city was pretty epic. Jurassic Park 3, though. That was actually pretty bad. Some people hate it simply because they dislike the main dinosaur antagonist, the Spinosaurus. I don't like it simply because it didn't do anything original apart from introduce a new carnivore villain and had one of the weakest climaxes/endings I've ever seen in a film.

Meh. JP3 is the one I watched most as a kid. I really can't bring myself to hate it. As a kid? Oh shit, that movie came out in 2001. I was 11 at the time. Shit, I didn't realize until now that I was a little kid when that one came out too, for some reason I thought it came out much later in 2008 or something. Oh, and my and my brother recently saw Jurassic Park 2 again (before watching the latest installment) and despite the fact that it's probably both of our favorite installment in the series, it's also the movie where the heroes are complete assholes who basically caused all the problems of the movie. - Nick Van Owen (a member of Earth First!, a radical eco-group which has been suspected of car bombings and sabotage on nuclear reactors) destroys the padlocks on In.Gen's cages.
- This directly causes all the communication equipment In.Gen had to be destroyed, meaning In.Gen, who had completed their mission can no longer radio for help.
- Nick and Sarah bring the T-rex back to their trailer, directly leading to the death of Eddie and the destruction of their communication equipment.
- Nick's actions directly caused In.Gen to seek out the communication array at the center of the island, leading to almost all of the In.Gen people being killed.
- Nick steals all the ammo out of Roland's gun, thereby denying Roland the ability to protect himself in a life or death situation. That Roland survived is only because he's a fucking badass who somehow managed to tango with an enraged T-rex with no ammo at all.
- Kelly and Sarah couldn't keep their food in sealed containers like the rest of the In.Gen group could. The T-rex finds the camp only because of the scent of their food.
- Because of the T-rex attack, and Nick's destruction of the communication systems, the In.Gen group, freaked out, runs straight into raptor territory. Ajay clearly knew that the group shouldn't head there. Under other circumstances, not caused by the heroe's massive disregard for human life, he and Roland could have probably ordered the group through safer territory.
JP2 is one of the odd examples of movies where the villains did nothing wrong. A deleted scene shows that In.Gen took care of the little girl's hospital bills. The In.Gen group takes along Malcom's group, despite the fact that Roland probably easily knew Nick caused the camp's destruction. Except for that one guy with the taser, none of them are shown to be particularly distasteful or violent, they are capturing the dinosaurs with the least harmful methods they have (they used nets to capture that one dino in the big chase scene), and even provide Malcom's group with spare tents and sleeping bags. The only "evil" they commit in the film is wanted to put creatures in zoos. Creatures that they themselves own. You know why Nick wasn't there in the San Diego shitstorm? Because he was probably arrested as soon as he landed on US soil on several counts of negligence or manslaughter.

Damn kids.. I was a teenager when JP3 came out! ...Okay, just barely.
@potterpuppetpals: I don't know about all that. I just found 1 & 3 entertaining, whereas 2 I did not.

Because he was probably arrested as soon as he landed on US soil on several counts of negligence or manslaughter. The reason why Jurassic Park 2 sticks out in my mind as being better than 3 is because 2 had a far better ending. Jurassic Park 2 ends with a massive Tyrannosaur rampage and mayhem. Jurassic Park 3 ended with the army coming and saving everyone, and that's it. Granted, it makes sense, but it's the sort of ending I would expect from a parody of Jurassic Park or something. Jurassic Park, at its core, is a franchise that doesn't make a lot of sense. That's not why people love them. The astounding visual effects have always been the main draw of the films. Entire species of dinosaurs being manufactured using DAINO DEE EN AY in mosquitos, including aquatic dinosaurs. That is all. While the supporting protagonists of Jurassic Park 2 are unlikeable, unreasonable, irrational jerks, the supporting protagonists of Jurassic Park 3 are moreso.

Who are these "protagonists" you speak of? I watch the movies for the dinos and root for em too.
The puny humans are just filler till the real stars come back, least for me.

I'm going to reiterate what I said on another thread here- is anyone getting tired of superhero movies? The novelty and joy of seeing my childhood heroes on the big screen has eroded away, leaving only subpar plots and entertainment value. It seems like I enjoy every subsequent one less and less.

Its the Marvel films honestly I enjoy less and less regardless of how great they are. The same formula plot wise and I already have that feeling if they keep it up I will get tired of them regardless if the films are good. I need a different type of superhero film. That's why I can't wait for Superman vs Batman and even Fantastic Four this summer.
I am glad the new Jurassic Park movie is good. I can't wait to see it.

I haven't watched a single Jurassic Park movie since, like, 2003. I remember nothing about any of them.
So all the hype for the new one is flying over my head like a plane, haha.

Hey does anyone else remember on the old site where it was either Landon or Soberguy or somebody, but they were talking about Man of Steel and they said something to the effect of, "If Warner Bros. idea of Superman involves destroying cities and a casual disregard for civilian life, their take on Batman must be a Bruce standing on top of Wayne Tower with a sniper rifle and gunning down thugs." Cut to 2 years later and the trailer for Batman vs. Superman literally has a shot of Batman on top of a building with a sniper rifle.

Yeah it was Landon. "If Snyder's idea for Superman consists of him disregarding people in harm's way and snapping the necks of villains, his Batman will probably sit on the top floor of the Wayne Enterprises skyscraper and shoot jaywalkers with a sniper rifle. "
Little did he know...

So we're critiquing a movie's portrayal of Batman despite having no context for the scenes in question?

So we're critiquing a movie's portrayal of Batman despite having no context for the scenes in question? I've seen something saying that it's a disruptor device that just looks like a sniper rifle. *sighs of relief* S'all good.
