Beast Machines Cheetor is at his most mature. Cliffjumper, as his name implies, is a hot head and just dives in. Cheetor will fight a little smarter and catch him when he makes a mistake.

Cliffjumper wins because when I was growing up, he was one of the two Transformers I actually owned (the other being Mirage). Also, Transformers should not transform into cheetahs, because cheetahs (despite their speed) are not vehicles, guns, boomboxes or microscopes. We gave the Dinobots a pass, but the whole animal thing needed to stop right there.

Two Transformer toys I didn't have ( always wanted Cliffjumper).
The only thing I think they messed up on in transforming into things is whatever Soundwave transformed into on Cybertron in the first episode. That bothers me to this day.
