Eric smiled in amusement, passively observing the various teenagers on their way to Ewan High School for Prom Night. He remembered long ago when he was young, how caught up he was in the ideas of romance and courtship. But he was a prince, and he was being groomed to rule one day. These children would be lucky if they wound up working at some local restaurant for a minimum wage.
But he wasn’t here to ogle beautiful young humans that he wouldn’t mind feeding on, no... He was here for something far more important. Bill Compton had informed him that a young witch was living in Chamberlain, a child with the potential for great magical power. Somehow, Bill had been asked by an anonymous source to have the child observed, and perhaps even tested. If the child were strong enough, Bill had requested Eric to bring him or her to Bon Temps for some unknown reason.
Eric was hesitant at first. After all, the last time he had encountered witches his memories had been wiped. He was only restored to his former state of mind when his beloved Sookie Stackhouse has blasted him with her own magic. But Eric’s romance with her was in the past. Sookie had just begun to date the ancient vampire called Warlow, despite Warlow’s insistence that they marry. Eric had wished them the best, even if there was a part of him that would always want her.
And so he accepted this assignment as a distraction from Sookie and all his recent losses.

Eric had waited around for fifteen or so minutes for something to happen. Perhaps the child had no idea of his or her power, and Eric would have to search all night.
He was about to call Bill when he heard the sound of an explosion. Turning towards the source of the sound, Eric’s vampire eyes saw a raging fire consuming the high school several blocks away. Rushing towards the school he stopped in the parking lot, and beheld a bloodstained teenage girl emerging from the gymnasium. Her hands were outstretched, and as Eric watched the cars in front of her were smashed by some invisible force.
Dodging them with his superhuman speed he looked at the girl closer. A look of madness twisted what would have been a pretty young face. The blood, by the smell of it, wasn’t hers. With an uncharacteristic feeling of shock, Eric realized it was the blood of some animal, perhaps a cow or pig. But the worst part was the girl’s eyes. They were unblinking and staring straight ahead; empty of any emotion except for pure uncontrolled rage.
Eric’s fangs came out as he noticed her mad gaze turn towards him. “I guess I’ve found our witch.”

(And my first match in the new site begins! This is Carrie from the new film starring Chloe Moretz against Eric Northman from HBO's True Blood.
Carrie is in her state of rage after the horrible pig's blood prank, and Eric is trying to subdue her without killing her. She has her powerful telekinetic abilities, while he has his vampire's abilities of superstrengh/speed, rapid healing, superhuman senses, and flight.)

It looks like Northman can subdue Carrie here by using his superspeed to dart around her to make her telekinesis even more unfocused than it already is, then use his superstrength to KO Carrie with a glancing blow. Even Carrie does manage to hit Eric with something, he seems to be to take just about anything she can throw at him that isn't a piercing object.
