The Nestene Consciousness, after the horror that the Last Great Time War had wrought, had mutated long ago from a tentacled arachnid into a vat of living molten plastic. The eldritch monster of legend uses its powers to bring inanimate plastic to life. Mannequins, appliances, and even rubbish bins could become dangerous killers at any moment if the Nestene Consciousness ever has its sights on Earth. But the creature never wants Earth for material gains, but for the toxins and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
However, in previous invasion attempts, the Nestene was far too conspicuous. Living window shop mannequins, or Autons as they are known, blasted their way through the glass and into the streets. The Nestene thought that it was time again to be more subtle, and send out the Nestene Duplicates, living plastic copies of organic beings that look convincing enough to be mistaken for the real deal. Using the duplicates, the Nestene gathered intel on the alien-fighting and scientific research organisation, UNIT.
The primary objective was to gain access to UNIT's alien technology hidden within the Black Archive, by creating duplicates of one of the organisation's leaders, Kate Lethbridge-Stewart. The secondary objective was to find the location of the alien President of the World, the Doctor.
Location: The Black Archive, London
Using a thumbprint scanner, the Kate Stewart copy opened the doors to the Black Archive, their most secretive storage facility.
Quietly and discreetly, she said "Mother Consciousness, I am inside the Archive", a telepathic communication with her master and creator.
She strolled through the different sections of the archive, eventually finding an Artron energy scanner, a device used to detect TARDISes. There! A large spike in Artron energy was detected in the middle of Blackpool. But much to "Kate"'s confusion, there was a second spike, in the same general area. A second TARDIS? How could that be?
"Mother Consciousness, two Artron readings have been collected. Two TARDISes are in the United Kingdom presently." said the duplicate. A wandering soldier passed the replica as she said this. Having been trained to identify alien threats, and having knowledge of the Autons, the soldier instinctively raised his rifle.
"Get on the ground, now!" he yelled. He spoke into his walky-talky. "Code yellow, an Auton replica has entered the Black Archive, repeat, an Auton replicAAAGH!" The solider let out a scream of pain as the Kate duplicate shot a laser bolt out of her hand, which killed the soldier. Having gained the information it required, the Nestene remotely melted the duplicate to liquid on the spot.
While you may assume that the Nestene Consciousness would simply animate all of the plastic objects in Blackpool to assassinate the Doctor, the Nestene had other plans.
Location: The Blackpool Tower, Blackpool
Standing alone, the Twelfth Doctor looked up at the Blackpool Tower. He had just finished an adventure involving his wife, a despotic tyrant and a spaceship full of genocidal holiday-makers. Using a small Jerry-rigged device that goes ding when there's stuff, the Doctor detected a small alien critter named Travist Polong that had been a continued pest to his former companion Sarah Jane Smith which had somehow made it's way back to Earth, and was hiding within the Blackpool Tower.
"Always doing something productive, that's me." the Doctor said quietly to himself, with a hint of snark.
Without him noticing, a frizzy, white-haired man in a cloak had walked up beside him to admire the tower. While the Doctor was busy fiddling with his alien-detecting device, the other man leaned over to look.
"Now what might that be, old chap?" said the Third Doctor. The Twelfth Doctor looked to the side and jumped sideways in surprise. "Steady on, I'm not going to hurt you. It's just that your device looks very alien in origin." he continued.
"Oh, what, this thing? Nah! Pfft. It's just, uh, my... uh... toothbrush... cleaner..." said the Twelfth Doctor sheepishly. He did not want to tell his past incarnation that he was him from the future, since the crossing of one's own time stream in the Doctor Who universe can be dangerous.
"What on Earth would you be doing with it out here, where there are no toothbrushes to clean?" probed the Third Doctor. Before his successor could reply, the Third Doctor stopped him. "There's no need to hide the truth from me, I know who you are. So which Doctor are you?"
"Depending on how you look at it, I'm either the Twelfth or the Thirteenth. Things get confusing in your future, believe me. How did you work it out?"
"The clothes, the alien technology, and your startled reaction clued me in, I'm afraid. You'd best work on your cover stories if you end up encountering a past incarnation again."
The Third Doctor's final companion, Sarah Jane Smith, walked up to him. "So who's your new friend here, Doctor?" she asked playfully.
"Just another one of my future incarnations. May I ask what you're doing here, Doctor?" asked Three.
"I'm tracking somebody. Look, there he is!" replied Twelve, while pointing towards the slithering, legless creature near a drain on the pavement.
"Ugh! What is it?" gasped Sarah Jane.
"Travist Polong. You might have some trouble with him somewhere down the line. Don't worry too much though, he's harmless." warned Twelve.
Meanwhile, on the rooftops, a certain robotic freelance peacekeeping agent was watching.
"Time for a bit of revenge, yes?" said Death's Head. Death's Head had been left on Earth and shrunken down to human size by the Seventh Doctor. His days of travelling the Omniverse were behind him, and it was all the Time Lord's fault.
Two other threats that had been hired by the Nestene Consciousness to kill the Doctor also watched from different locations. They were Drury Walker, aka Killer Moth, and Calvin Zabo, aka Mr. Hyde.
Killer Moth didn't waste any time hiding in the shadows. He dived over to the Doctors and Sarah Jane's location, and aimed his gun at them all. The Third Doctor assumed a fighting stance.
"Run back to the TARDIS, Sarah. I'll be back soon." reassured the Third Doctor. Sarah Jane did as he said. The Third Doctor turned to his future self. "Remember any Venusian aikido, Doctor?"
"I may be a bit rusty, but I still have more experience, and some sweet sonic sunglasses! Oh, and a spoon!" replied the Twelfth Doctor while getting out his sonic shades and a large metal spoon from his pocket.
Mr. Hyde and Death's Head also their appearance known.
"Remember me, Doctor?" asked Death's Head. "You two can leave, because I don't know why you're here."
"I'm here for the bounty on these two's heads." said Mr. Hyde before beating his chest like an ape.
"They're mine! I'm not being sidelined again!" yelled Killer Moth.
"I did not know that there was a bounty, but I'll gladly take it." said Death's Head.
"If all else fails, we can go back to your TARDIS." whispered the Twelfth Doctor to his past self.
"I don't think that'll be necessary, old chap. HAI!"
-------------------------------------------------------------
It's a four-way free for all between Death's Head, Mr. Hyde, Killer Moth and the Third and Twelfth Doctors in a tag team. Mr. Hyde is only has a small dose of the formula in his bloodstream. Walker is 100% human. The Third Doctor's TARDIS is near the fighting location. That's important.

The outcome...
Killer Moth leaped into the air and began shooting balls of sticky wax out of his cocoon gun at the two Doctors, but they were easily avoided. Using his sonic sunglasses, the Twelfth Doctor blasted the cocoon gun to smithereens, leaving Walker without any weapons. Then, using the combined power of their two sonic screwdrivers, the Doctors fired a blast that knocked Killer Moth down.
"That's one down. How will these two fare?" asked the Third Doctor, hoping that his future self would be more knowledgeable.
"I don't recognise the big bloke, but the robot seems vaguely familiar somehow. Might have something to do with the fact that he recognises us as the Doctor." said the Twelfth Doctor.
"Do you really not remember me, Doctor?" asked Death's Head, before moving in to strike both of them.
"There have been many robot enemies. The K1, the Pilot Fish, the Robots of Sherwood... Where exactly do you fit in the picture?" asked the Twelfth.
"I understand that you change your face, yes? I encountered you when you had the question mark jumper and the question mark cane." exposited Death's Head. The Twelfth Doctor paused before shrugging indifferently. Angered, Death's Head moved in for the kill.
Acting fast, the Third Doctor blocked the robot's punch, counter-punched, and kicked away at his metal legs. After taking a couple of left hooks from Death's Head, the Third Doctor managed to sweep him off his feet. Using his colossal strength, the Third then ripped off the robot's arms with his bare hands.
Mr. Hyde charged forwards with his huge fist outstretched, but the Third Doctor slid underneath and behind the monster. The Time Lord jumped onto Zabo's back, and pushed his face into the pavement. As Zabo tried to recover, the Third Doctor rapidly punched away at his jaw, while the Twelfth Doctor ineffectually tapped his noggin with the spoon at the same time.
To finish Mr. Hyde off, the Third Doctor used the beast's weight against him by judo throwing him onto the ground.
