Previously: Unicron attempted to consume a planet but the Celestials drove him off. The USS Enterprise-E among other ships began
investigating the crisis that their battle created.
At first the Unicron wanted to teach the Celestials a lesson. But their power was enough to drive him off.
Weakened more than he had ever been since his struggle against Primus, The Chaos Bringer realized a primal truth.
He needed servants.

The Enterprise received a priority 1 message. Picard and Riker were the only one’s authorized to receive it.
President RL Brand- who presided over the United Federation of Planets- had never made a transmission to the Enterprise before.
He neglected the pleasantries and got straight down to business.
“The incident that you’re investigating, as I’m sure you know, is of top concern to everyone, ally, enemy, and independent. Because
of this, we’ve been sharing information.
“So far, there’s not a lot of fact, but we’re starting to get a picture of what this threat is. The ‘space gods’ as the victim world was
calling them are known to us. They’ve even had contact with Earth.”
“Celestials,” Picard completed the explanation. “We hear about them from time to time.”
“Yes, well the Celestials aren’t the threat. Not to us anyway. It’s the other thing, that monster planet that they described. The Milky
Way galaxy hasn’t really been its territory but races that exist outside of our local galaxy system have heard of it. It’s been a
roundabout sort of communication because the Federation, of course, only works within the Alpha, Bete and Delta quadrants of our
galaxy. Nevertheless we do have contacts beyond our regular sphere of influence and the warning is simple- ‘beware the chaos
bringer’.
“That was enough to set some people off. There’s a coalition intent on acquiring the means to defend themselves against such a
threat should it come again.”
“They’re going after Warworld. Naturally we don’t want them to have full control so Starfleet is ordering The Enterprise to partake in
the coalition.
“Superman has vehemently protested this endeavor so there will be no help from the Justice League. But he’s not going to stand in
our way because candidly, he knows that it’s better for the Federation to be in on this thing and have some influence than be out in
the cold while everyone else makes a grab for this weapon.”
Commander Riker spoke up. “Sir, I’ve looked at the Justice League file that they shared with us on Warworld. Just how does this
coalition plan on taking that thing? As I understand, Mongul is still in charge.”
“Funny you should say that,” Brand snorted. “These interesting times create interesting bedfellows. The Federation has arranged for
an advisor for you on this Warworld mission. Whatever your misgivings about this being, he will be of use. I trust you Captain
Picard, to deal with him cautiously as possible.”
As soon and the President told the pair who their advisor was, he ended the transmission to escape the assured protests of the
Captain and his executive officer.
Thanos of Titan was notorious even to people who had never heard of him. His schemes reached galactic proportions and the
Federation gave him the most dangerous classification.
To have this being aboard the Enterprise as a guest spoke to the seriousness of this ‘monster planet’ threat.
Thanos was cooperative, and helpful. But he still strolled around with the arrogance of knowing that he could crush the entire crew if
he needed to. Picard kept his access limited and he always had a security detail accompanying him.
Working with Thanos made the Enterprise late in joining up with the coalition. The attack on Warworld had already started. It was
clear that the fleet was being slaughtered. The only thing that kept Picard from vomiting was the fact that they could still succeed in
the objective.
Thanos provided the technology to adapt their transport beam to Warworld’s shield modulation. They could put a boarding team
inside and take the weapon.
Shrewdly, the Titan talked his way into being on the boarding team. A dozen different races worked together fighting the occupants
of Warworld. Every meter was hard fought, but they made it to Mongul. That was the end point.
Until Thanos stepped in.
If anyone was going to defeat him, The Mad Titan would be the one.
Fight Parameters:
Thanos vs. Mongul for control of Warworld.
