Battle Nexus series
Mojo was actually very annoying and the Damiyo spent most of the meeting trying to figure out how this being was able to rule a
dimension.
He mentally chastised himself for even agreeing to this sit down.
“You don’t have a big enough audience!” Mojo was almost screaming. “You got a whole interdimensional tournament and- what- a
few thousand people watching? This thing should be a phenomenon!”
Mojo danced around on his mechanical-spider legs.
“The Battle Nexus tournament is legendary.” The Damiyo responded. “We have warriors from new dimensions every tournament.”
Mojo addressed that fervently. “And think of how many warriors would enter if you transmitted the tournament to all of those
dimensions. You’d have to expand the arena!”
The Damiyo looked reluctant but some of his advisors actually were starting to buy into the idea.
“Sire,” one of them said. “Many of our regular contestants’ home dimensions have advanced far beyond sword and staff. It would
bring new light to the Battle Nexus. New excitement- cheering on their greatest warriors from home.”
“You see?” Mojo hugged the advisor. “He gets it!”
“Tell you what!” The spineless one jabbered on. “I’ll put in one of my best guys! He can be the centerpiece for my regular audience!
Throw him in the arena with an opponent that will give him a good fight! Then sit back and watch the viewers roll in like flood!”
And so The Damiyo agreed to Mojo’s proposal. He would broadcast the Battle Nexus to every dimension that would pay for it.
The warrior whom Mojo had promised was Longshot, a bonified superstar in his programs.
The opponent whom Longshot would be fighting was left secret even to Mojo himself. The mystery created an anticipation that
couldn’t be matched.
When it was finally time for the match, Mojo sat with the Damiyo and his elite company. This was to be the first official broadcast of
the Battle Nexus.
Longshot was already in place on one side of the caged off arena floor. His mystery opponent was at last revealed. And Mojo had a
cow.
“What is that?!” He bellowed. “A bunny rabbit? With a samurai sword? You gotta be kidding me! This is a joke right?”
The Damiyo smiled at him. “It is the randomness of the Battle Nexus.”
“Randomness! We’re gonna have to start betting on who ends up against who the way this is going! Rabbit man better be good! Or
I’m going to take a big hit in ratings!”
Fight Parameters:
Competitive duel. Just like in the series (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 cartoon), the looser will disappear just as the finishing
blow is thrown, thus no one ever dies.
