Snake pushed his body further through the woods as blood dripped from his side.
Snake had already been shot three times... and it wasn't looking so good.
"Damn gunslinger wasn't joking when he said he was good," Snake mind rushed as trees zoomed past him.
"Lucky for me, I was better. Still got shot though...I can't remember the last time someone actually got me. Damnit, we should have left Leon... He wasn't worth the lives of two agents. I managed to escape but now Leon's gone and Widow is dead. Shit's looking bad--"
Gun fire broke his concentration. Kano and his men were still on his trail, and gaining on him. From what he gathered about Kano, he liked a good manhunt. And he wasn't the type to give up. If Snake wanted to get away, he'd have to--
*Bang* *Bang*
Bullet whizzed past his ear, a near miss...
"Come on. Just a little further!"
Snake pushed his body to the limit, running at full speed despite the pain and kept his path angular so that his assailants wouldn't get a clear shot. He just needed to go a little further... a little further.
*SNAP*
The sudden sound followed by several terrified screams told Snake his plan had worked. The mooks ran right into one of Kraven's traps. It was going to take them awhile to recover. Even longer to pick up his trail. For now he was safe...
Snake kept his pace to put some distance between himself and HYDRA, but soon he needed to stop and mend his wounds. The thought of that alone made him crack a smile.
After a few more seconds, Snake slowed. He immediately felt the sharp pain in his side and shoulder from the bullet wounds. Judging from the pain, he figured nothing was broken and his organs remained undamaged. For that he was thankful. But the pain was followed by fatigue, and then by extreme dizziness.
"Have I already lost so much blood?", he asked himself as his started using trees to keep himself up. "I have to keep going. Got to find Leon...find Fury and tell him what happened--"
Before Snake could finish his own thought, one of the surrounding tree roots tripped him, causing him to lose his balance and fall into the approaching river. He immediately lost consciousness.
Some time later
Snake's return to consciousness was welcomed only by a damp cage and a sore body. He found himself slumped over as he tried to collect himself. Where the hell was he?
"Hey, man? You okay?", asked an unfamiliar voice.
"...", Snake heard the voice, but he couldn't answer. Not yet. His senses were only just coming back to him and he needed information more than anything. That's when a second voice called out, "Leave him be."
"Damn... they did a number on you, huh?", the first voice asked again, ignoring the second man's advice.
Snake finally responded, "I--Where am I?" He could already guess what was going on. He remembered passing out from his wounds after the battle with Hydra. It was probable that he was in their clutches now.
But... something wasn't right. He was in a cage...a small one. Iron barred and just enough room for a single person. The two cages next to his were the same. Small and held the two strangers that had just addressed him. The room was dark...and damp. And he had the strangest feeling,--
"The ocean? We're traveling by sea?", Snake deduced, asking his fellow prisoners before they could have answered his first question. The second man, Trafalgar Law, a thin pale looking fellow with tattoos, spoke up to answer, "Yeah, on a ship. Hydra got a hold of us. They got you too."
The first man, Emmett Graves, a rough looking male with strange glowing eyes and a large build, spoke afterwards, "Least they treated him... Can't say I saw the same treatment. Bunch of racist assholes."
"Treated?" It was only after the mention of it that Snake realized his wounds had been stitched and bandaged. "Hydra... giving me medical care? That doesn't seem right."
"Hey, I wouldn't be complaining. They might of saved your life," said Emmett.
"Probably just want to torture him before they kill him, that's all," said Law.
"Hmmm. That seems likely. How long have you two been down here? Do you know how many people are on board?" Snake asked. Now that he was fully conscious he needed to find a way out of here.
Law responded first, "They caught me by surprise a few days ago while I was out at sea. There is only a few of them, maybe a dozen if you count the crew. Not sure who these Hydra people are but they did have intel on how to defeat me... Got me locked up inside this sea-stone cage."
"You're a devil fruit user?" Snake sounded surprised.
"Yeah...", Law kept his tone low so none of the nearby crew members would hear him. "Doesn't do us any good though. He has power too but he's useless without his gun. They have all our stuff locked away. Yours too."
"Yeah. I'm going to need those back. Think I know how to do it too." Snake smirked as he sat up and hurled, vomiting out a pack of cigarettes.
"What the hell? How does that help!?", Emmett questioned.
Snake ignored him as he quickly emptied the contents of the pack and pulled out a lockpick. Using the pick, he freed himself then tossed the cigs to Emmett and Law. "Those should hold you over for now. Don't want you guys to get in my way."
Before the others could protest, Snake already had found the exit and had begun his mission.
Snake's goal is to find his supplies/gear/weapons and eliminate each of the crew members. There are 12 in total and lead by Haytham Kenway alongside his Templar crew. Snake starts off unarmed and at the lowest part of the ship. Ship is modeled after the same ones from Assassin's Creed 3.
